Should Anyone Die Because Of Their Faith? Please Read This!

THIS IS A SHOCKING STORY AND AS YOU READ AND COMMENT PLEASE DO NOT CUSS OUT ANYONE'S BELIEF,JUST ANALYSE IF IT IS RIGHT TO LET THIS HAPPEN...........I AM TOO SHOCKED FOR WORDS!

From someone's FB wall

"Meanwhile b4 now, I know that jehova's witness are all up2 no good.... I got the first phone call just before 2:00pm. This was Friday 19th octoberb 2012. It was from my sister in Lagos She was frantic. Our elder
brother’s wife was bleeding, losing a lot of blood, laid out on a bed at the Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos. She had just delivered a baby, their second in just over two years. My sister informed me that despite serious pleas from everyone in the family, from clinical staff at the hospital, and from concerned strangers, my brother refused to give his consent for his wife to have blood transfusion.
Why? Unfortunately for his wife, my brother is a Jehovah’s Witness. I called my brother and spoke to him. He didn’t budge. He said his faith; his religion forbids its members from accepting blood under any
circumstance. Though I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, I said that it was ok. I told him that he could refuse blood transfusion when he is the patient, but since it was his young wife at death’s door, he should give consent for the treatment for her. I added that after his wife has been
saved, he could go ahead and ask for forgiveness from the anti-transfusion god, and once again reconcile himself to his faith. He declined.
I then went into the medical aspect of what was happening. I informed my brother that the average male has only about 5.5 litres of blood in their body. The average female has even less. I told him that if the body
loses too much of that, there wouldn’t be enough for the heart to pump, and the heart would stop beating. The patient will die. He still didn’t budge. In fact, he promptly hung up on me. I called him back a few more times but the young man refused to answer his phone.
I called back my sister in Lagos and reported my failure. The second call came at exactly 3:10pm. This time my sister was crying. The young lady has died.
I immediately called my brother again. I wanted to tell him to take a bow and to clap for himself. But he was still refusing to take my calls.
I spent the rest of the afternoon thinking about religion. I know that religion has its many benefits, but I am beginning to wonder whether these are outweighed by its negative aspects. Most people appear to
check their intelligence at the door when it comes to their religion and practicing their faith. Unfortunately, my brother is one of them. I couldn’t believe that an educated man (he holds a Bsc from UNN ) would
sit around and watch his wife die when he could have very easily prevented her death by signing a piece of paper. What has religion done to us?
I called my other sister in Lagos too to get more details. I wish I hadn’t. She informed me that she spent more than an hour on her knees begging our brother to give his consent for his wife to be given blood, but he refused. He refused her, and he refused all pleadings from the medical staff, some of whom were begging him with tears in their eyes. He was told repeatedly that without blood transfusion, his wife would die. He wasn’t moved. He informed them all that if his wife died from bleeding and never got blood transfusion, she would go straight to Heaven. This is a novel idea. If only Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin, Abacha and the rest of them knew this nice little secret. All they needed to do was slit
their own wrists and the express lift to Heaven would have come for them.
Then it got worse. I was informed that the young lady’s mother (my brother's mother in law) was present throughout at the hospital. The doctors went to her to give consent for her daughter to be given blood to save her life, but the mother also refused! She too is a Jehovah’s witness. She maintained throughout that only the
husband can give consent, she would not.
In desperation, the doctors called the young lady’s younger brother who is a junior doctor in Enugu. The deceased worked in a bank and was the main breadwinner in her birth family. She paid for the education of all of her siblings, including that of this junior doctor. As the doctors in Lagos pleaded with him on the phone to give consent for his sister to receive blood to save her life, this junior doctor demurred. He directed that she
be given some coagulants and blood clotting agents. He was informed that
all of that has been tried but the patient was still losing blood. In the end, he refused to give consent. He claimed that it was the duty of his sister’s husband, not his, and terminated the call.
He too is a Jehovah’s witness. A doctor! What has religion done to us?
Before this, I have never imagined that any mother could sit on a chair, fold her arms and watch her child die and not do something about it.
This was a child she gave birth to and nurtured, and who in turn, had been taking care of her in her old age. I don’t know whether I’m the one losing my mind. What has religion done to us?
Anyway, the mother and my brother were finally called to go to the lady’s bedside as it became obvious that she was struggling through her last breaths. Mama ran in the opposite direction shouting, “Jehovah o!
Jehovah is life! Life is Jehovah!”
My brother took his place by his wife’s bedside and watched life ebb out of her. He stood there and watched her die. What kind of boldness is that? What kind of cold-heartednes s is that? When asked why he did what he did, he responded that when he dies, he would marry his dead wife again in Heaven! Is this logical? I have to confess that I am not the most religious person in the world, but are there marriages in Heaven?
Are we going to continue having more children in Heaven? More importantly, would God be pleased with a person who had the power to save one of his children, one of his creations, but deliberately
refused to do so? It is one thing to watch helplessly and only give comfort as someone lies dying on a motorway, but to deliberately and actively withhold life-saving consent? Especially to your own wife? Your own child? Your own sister?
My brother has become a latter-day Abraham. He even went further by
sacrificing his wife on the altar of religious principles. But why are some religious people like this? Is it the fear of going against the grain of their faith’s community? Is it the fear of being seen or being thought as not faithful enough by their fellow religious comrades? Is it the shame of being considered weak by one’s religious peers? And if this is the case,
are these feelings not trumped by love for another human being?
Personally, I think that it has got to be illiteracy of the mind".

    3. Please don't allow the agents of the enemy to turn you away from the sweetness of knowing God. The Bible talks in many places about Gods ultimate punishment for those who by their actions prevent 'His children' from gaining heaven. Would you never drink water again, if you were once fooled into drinking a poisoned cup? Religion is even more essential than water. Religion in itself is not the issue. Since it exists in the world and the world is ruled by the enemy, he uses very important and essential (naturally attractive) aspects of life - spiritual beliefs, marriage, sex, money, food - to stray us into his plans of destruction for us.
Jehova's witness is not in the real sense a 'religion'. They started in the US as a Bible study group which broke off into waring factions after the death of their leader. The most popular of those groups is what we now have parading themselves as Christians. According to JWs the rapture has already occured in 1942. They are more famous in our part of the world because African are notorious for their hunger for religion. We are ready to try out any 'god' on offer.
JWs do not use the same GNB, KJV or any other widely accepted Bible text. They prefer to rely on texts which they have written and approved themselves. Jesus explained that after we believers are raised, we will not marry or have kids. So this horrid man who has effectively killed his wife is basing his ascertion on JW principles. PLEASE beware of false prophets.

    4. @ Original poster: plz read Acts 15:20,29. Let me spell that out. Acts chapter 15 verses 20 and 29. Jehovah's witnesses take the entire scriptures seriously. For any who lose their lives obeying those words found in those verses, there's a hope. Find this in John 5:28,29. Also find d name Jehovah's Witnesses in Isaiah 43:10. For more info, contact any witness of Jehovah that u find.

    3. @anon 1.53 If she needed blood so desparately, perhaps she was unconscience or incoherent. But in general, and with no disrespect intended, have you questioned this religion you follow? The time has come for all of us to get truly saved. God will never judge Christians based on their denomination. Jehova's witnesses do not conform to the entire teachings of Jesus. And from what I have gleaned, there's more emphasis on works rather that faith and intrinsic content. I was married to one and have known quite a few in school, at work and socially. There is a common zombified quality you all seem possess that does not reflect the joys of Christianity.

    4. Please this is true story believe It. This has happend in my family too. My aunty is jehova witness. She is a twin and they both got married to Jehovah witnesses (they don't get married to any other ) T got pregnant and she was in the Labour room n she needed blood to save her baby. They refused and she lost the baby and even almost killed herself. Its almost 30yrs now she has not gotten pregnant again just because of the complications. K's husband got involved in an accident and also needed blood but they refused the transmission. And yes the doctors know about it and the have there own hospital. They don't go to any kind of hospital. Ks husband dies. They dint even think of the 5 kids they have.I guess they will rather due that live with blood transfusion. This is real and true. The religion is brainwashing all of them

Bt dey kpt refusin transfusion, d sis, d brother n all d family....and to make it worse my colleague wasnt even makin our pleadn effective, he kept encouragin d girl to call on jehovah n hold on to her belief...cos she myt stl die even if we transfuse her....incidentally, dis lady lost her mum weeks earlier to blood loss too...to cut long story...my colleague was sha tryn to get in touch wt some jehovah witness hospitals in lagos (der r some owned by JW docs n dey av some alternatives dey give tho if d bleedn is too much, nothin in d world can replace blood), so he got one in festac so we transferred d lady der....d money dey were asked to deposit was so much (yh, dos products r expensive)...dey wsted some time running around to get d money...den wen dey eventually took her in...she died later even afta takin d products...
Now everyone has a right to believe wateva dey want...d govt too can try to invest in dos products cos dey av a responsibility to protect lives of every citizen....bt d ones dt get at me is wen a minor is involved...parents shldnt be allowed to make decisions on behalf of der kids...d state shld make d decision in d best interest of d child...if an adult decides to die for his belief...all well n good ...bt neva shld a child be made to go thru dt...believe u me, its d most painful thing on earth...av seen it too many times in naija
Since I started practisin in d uk, av seen d diff...every hosp has a chaplain dt dey call on during such period to speak to d patients...bt d rules r clear when d patient is less than 18yrs...d doctor is allowed to take decisions in d best interest of d pt...which is usually to give d blood..God help ma naija peeps...

  20. I vehemently disagree with JW but they usually and annoyingly twist the verses of the bible to suit their stand on what they believe. JW believe that since the holy scriptures is against the consumption of blood, anyform of blood consumption, which they even believe Blood-Transfusion to be part of, is evil in the sight of God. Check out these verses: Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 7:23-24,17:10,14; Deuteronomy 3:17,12:16,23; Acts 15:20. They all condemn the digestion of blood, but these JW have failed to realize that the blood consumption of a being is forbidden only if it interferes with the life of that being when it is taken without consent, since it is sacred. Jesus gave His blood: "Take and DRINK this...this is My BLOOD..", what will they say about that, Blood given with His consent? Blood transfusion is something given out of consent, so it does not interfere with the giver's life or conscience, hence it's safe. Someone should educate these block headed JW

If u take blood samples freely, and also allow ur blood to be taken for tests...den u r not being honest wt urself....plus some blood products r fractionated components from blood itself...so u wont take whole blood but u wl take fractions of it...like wat d heck?....

  26. It is no news that JW do not take blood. They will rather die than accept blood. The fact her mother, husband and even brother (who is a doctor refused)goes to speak volume. You have got to let people make their own choices while you respect it. If that lady is a TRUE WITNESS and she recieved the blood tranfusion, she would have been VERY VERY VERY upset if she recovers. It is a big big deal to them and if they accept it who are we to judge.I know someone who died too during child birth. She was a witness, her husband was one too. He refused. The deceased family members are not witness and were opposed to it, but they could not do a thing about it. Their daughter died, the twins died, they refused to have anything to do with the husband or even their daughter's corpse. That is the choice people make. That is the reason why i REFUSED TO DATE A LOVELY WITNESS MAN during my university days. YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICE...

  28. This is so SAD! How can both husband and mother watch life ebb out of her without doing anything when they could have?

Both will account for this act before the judgement throne of GOD. I was touched and pained when I read the medical staff were pleading in tears.

This reminds me of a story in which a man was stranded at sea. He called to GOD to help him and different people came to rescue him but he kept telling them he was waiting for GOD to come rescue him.

He died and when he got to Heaven, he asked GOD why he didn't save him and GOD asked him if he didn't see the people he sent to rescue him? That was he expecting him to come down when human are there to do it.

  29. Witnesses don't joke with their beliefs.

Death is not a big deal to them because of their distinct idea of afterlife.

I am certain that the lady in question would have refused the transfusion if she was conscious to do so. It wouldn't have mattered to her that she was dying. That is why they carry around their witness cards, which states they shouldn't be given blood in case they have an accident and are unconscious to make a decision.

Thank God they are only marry fellow witnesses.

  34. This story is not completely true because the man will never tell u that is wife is goin to heaven. Just as someone has commented, she also have a say whether to take blood or abstain. Witnesses are all over and if u have any confusing question, why don't u invite them in and carry ur own bible and theirs to compare. Don't follow hearsay cus we are so fond of that. Christians are commanded to abstain from blood and u can look that up @ Act 15:28,29. Then also look up Lev 17:11,12. Does thr bible prohibit blood eating wic include transfusing, Yes and early xtians understood it that Way.if u find time to look up the Act scripture, it says keep abstaining from blood. It does not say merely to abstain from animal blood.(Compare Lev 17:10 which prohibited eating ''any sort of blood'' . Then the question is IS A TRANSFUSION REALLY THE SAME AS EATING BLOOD? In a hospital wen a patient can't eat thrugh his mouth, he's fed intravenously. Now, wld a person who never put blood into his mouth but who accepted blood by transfusion really obeying thr command to ''keep abstaining from...blod? But note that if a patient refuses blood, there are other alternatives, such include Saline solution, Ringers solution and dextran can be used as plasma volume expanders and they are available in nearLy all modern hospitals.

  36. Jehovah witnesss actually benefit from a better medical treatment because they do not accept blood. A doctoe wrting in d America Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology acknowledge ...there is no doubt that the situation where you the surgeon are operating without the possibility of transfusion tends to improve your surgery. You are a little bit more aggressive in clamping every bleeding vessel. All types of surgery can be performed sucessfully without blood transfusion and am a living witness to that cus I had a major and a bloodless surgery here in Nigeria. This types of surgeries that are done bloodless includes Open heart operation, brain surgery, amputation of limbs and totak removal of cancerous organs. Some even comment that they became impress with the results from using nonblood plasma expanders on the Jehovah witnesses that they started using the procedure on all their patients. Look into Cardiovascular News, feb 1984. Their they made the statement that bloodless open heart surgery originally develloped for adult members of the Jehovah witness sect because their religo forbids blood transsfusion, now has been safely adapted for use in delicate cardiac procedure in infants and childen. What I will say is that its individual choice and bible principles which we follow.

  40. All these ANONYMOUS Jehovah Witness coming here 2give biological and medical grammar 2support their dead religion, I just can't understand the level of brain washing they've undergone. U should've given yur IDs so we knw who we're dealing with. Know this: Life, in any level is extremely precious & sacred. If yur adamant in accepting blood transfusion and instead take supplements & plasma watever, yu should @least find out the origin of all those expensive crap yu take. They're all from BLOOD. And mind you, der's absolutely no such thing as a bloodless surgery, blood is spilled, replicated, preserved, & flow-stopped during surgery. Even if there is, ask yur witnessing selves this question: the poverty stricken nigerian JW in need of surgery, how many of yu have contributed 2 their "bloodless" surgery 4their survival?

  41. Hmmm this is very deep Stella. First I'll cite the example of the woman with the issue of blood in the bible. We all know that when she touched the hem of Jesus' garment she was healed instantly. Now, Jesus could have looked the other way, even though she yanked His hem without His knowledge, but He endorsed the healing process thereafter... when He said....You are healed because of your faith. Why did Jesus have to endorse her healing when He could have allowed her to go to 'heaven' by bleeding to death?

As far as this Jehovah's witness story.. these are the sorts of behaviors that make some people think that it is very difficult to serve God. For crying out loud, Jesus in His days as man was a great physician who went about doing healing wonders. It is the same God that empowered Jesus to heal, that has today also empowered Doctors to heal.

This was how a Pastor friend of my family died almost 2yrs ago becos of gross medical ignorance. He was a 'virgin' until he met a hairdresser lady that became his wife. For 6years after marriage they couldn't have a child. This man was no Jehovah's witness tho, but of the Anglican/CAC doctrine. He was a prayer warrior to the max, and up until now I haven't seen anyone who can pray heaven down so aggressively as he would do. Once he even fainted while he prayed bcos he ran out of breathe.

Anyway Pastor started to fall very sick. But he didn't tell anyone until he could no longer hide it..he became bed ridden. We would later find that he had been infected with the HIV virus some 2years before He died. His so called wife, whom people now see as a renowned Christian was a first class prostitute until she was diagnosed of HIV. It was after that she became a hairdresser n married this Pastor. She married this man but didn't reveal her HiV status to him. So when the man found out, shame didn't allow him tell anyone. And instead of going to treat his ailment he resorted to prayer mountains. But his wife has been receiving treatment....rather...He would fast 40days and night all months round...he refused every medical attention.

Long story short, he lived his last few months permanently on the bed. He would even poo on himself and he started using adult diapers etc. His death came as a rude shock to us, not only becos he died of HIV, but bcos he refused to go medical. I was angered becos he died an ignorant man. Now do we also say that becos he didn't receive treatments he'll automatically go to heaven? Absolute gibberish!

I don't know why some people love to portray that service to God is done in absurd ways..more like an occult thing. like not using earrings at all, not watching tv..etc. I see most of these people on the street looking unkempt bcos they refuse to use those things that adds to the beauty of a woman. They always look twice their age. I have an aunt who's been like this for years bcos of her 'religious beliefs'.. and at almost 50 she still hasn't found a husband. Even those who wear diamonds find it hard to find husbands, how much more. There are so many contradictions to this topic but I seriously do not like to scrutinize or criticize anyone and the ways that they choose to serve their God. I am a christian and a worker in my church too...but I use my discretion to serve God the best way I can without any pastor's influence or mandate. Each to his own but God for all.

  42. Moreover, this is the same operand used by the islamist extremists. Vicious acts that has now birthed world terrorism. Too much of everything is not good. Some people create rules that even God Himself isn't aware of. Now BH is hitting Nigeria hard like a tornado and they are relentless in their bid to be heard. It is sick! Its a mental monopoly that stringently cuts short the lives of innocent souls. Brain wash I call it.

  50. I rest my case cus no amount of explanation done, people will still talk and why dont w allow them to talk and when they reliaze the truth by themselves, then it can make sense to them. And for mephis calling us poverty stricken witnesses, have we ever come to your door to beg for food? we all have decent jobs or you think because we collect contribution for our magazine make us poor.....i shook my head for you. Like i said find out the truth of the matter before you jump into conclusion.

I say this because I know for a fact that most of the people who commented here, don't want to know the real situation of things. If you are really interested, you will find this enlightening
