Nigerian President 2015...Your Choice Is....?

The lobbying for 2015 has slowly began and is causing untold rift here and there in the political circle.
Whilst some people are warming up to try their luck in Aso rock,it is as if there is no vacancy there because President Ebele Goodluck Jonathan is alleged to be re-running for Presidency...In Nigeria when the sitting President runs for election,he always wins.

Jonathan has not been the magaician expected of him and his fisherman's son story has lost its meaning on hungry Nigerians....some claim he is a weak President, some claim he is too good natured for the job he is sitting on,others claim he listens to too much talk and ends up not taking any bold step.

There are too many recycled politicians, all promising bread and butter and not even delivering popo garri when they win.
The young uprising politicians are adamant to enter the main realm of the Nigerian political scene.

Who would you like to see as President of Nigeria?

Maybe if the men step aside and let the women come in,we can do the job of running Nigeria better...maybe!

  1. The strongest woman in Nigeria cannot govern Nigeria to the dream land. This is not an insult to our mothers, sisters or daughters. It is just the fact and sincere truth. Nigeria need dogged fighters, real men, strong men who can make the right choices and not look back, irrespective of what people say or do. The case of GEJ is indeed a sad story but the truth is, the man is not a politician and choosing to be a president for the second time will be the biggest mistake he would do. Prof. Nwabueze has thrown his advice to him many times....if he is wise enough, he will take heed to it.

As for those who can govern Nigeria, indeed we have many of them. However, these people are either not politicians or are considered too good to be presidents. The reason is, the will fight corruption, fight for the less privilege, try to drive Nigeria to her dream land. And we all know that the strongest and prominent politicians in Nigeria are not really in support of good things for the country. The worse the country gets to, the better it is for their bank accounts and generations.

For me, even if it is a rumour, I still think PDP should go for people like the Jigawa state governor, Lamido. Forget politics and sentiments, that man has really done more than well for his people. This man has the dream and vision of past leaders such as Aminu Kano, Azikiwe, Tafawa Balewa. Another person I would love to see in the political scene is Professor Anyakoha, however the man is not a politician. Professor Nwabueze is also my dream man. I cannot forget the likes of Alh. Maitama Sule, the dan Masanin Kano. These are true men with good dreams for our beloved country. They have in them love for Nigeria without any kind of ethnic bias, sentiment or bigotry in them. Fashola cannot be left out of the list. I'm so surprised that I have no more names to mention. This is sad, and I think the only reason is because we do not have much trusted and strong people to be the president of Nigeria.

    1. My own is that come 2015, NO MUSLIM must be allowed to come into power or else, we are signing our death warrant for the Islamization of this country and the takeover of all our resources by them. A word is enough as at now, between APC and PDP, PDP looks like a lesser evil

  7. I still believe that mr president,Ebere Jonathan is a good man with a kind heart but..
However,In a country like ours, where their is diversity of culture, religion and belief..A country where the igbos, hausa and yoruba's fight over trivial things such as a story on a blog?we slander ourselves at any little chance we get..
Can a country where the citizens won't let go of their pre-colonial past suceed??I doubt if anybody is eligible for that position.why?because our religion and cultural sentiments would cloud our judgement about a person's capability and eligibity.Actualizing a better nigeria depends solely on us,yes!we nigerians!!our unity
This can only happen if we shun corruption, say NO!to tribalism, gender discrimination and embrace GOD...
Come 2015,I will vote for the right person..I won't trade my freedom,my future and that of my unborn kids for anything..

Heaven forbids that the likes of Aliyu Babaginda, Atiku, Buhari, Tambuwal get into Aso Rock. Jonathan has his faults but he is the best option we have. The whole issue with corruption starts from me and you not Jonathan. Like Stella said GEJ is no magician... we don't expect him to say abradacabra n turn nigeria around. Vote GEJ come 2015...i wonder why any one wld take atiku seriously? Jumping from one party to the other like a prostitute. Kmt

  37. Jonathan and Y'aradua, two virtually uncommon candidates, were thrown into our faces between 2007 and 2010. They came with a tag: "A breath of fresh air" with a good measure of "LUCK" from one of them who "had no shoes". Come 2015 it'll be eight years since these uncommon people were forced into our hands by a 2007 flawed election, a flaw sincerely admitted by late Y'aradua.

Nigerians have seen over 14 years of democratic rule. 8 from OBJ, and 6 from Y'ara-Than. Weigh your gains and losses sincerely. Ask yourself, for instance, why Y'aradua, after knowing fully well the operations of the Cabal in the Oil sector, still reduced the price of fuel from 70 to 65, and 2-shoes decided to excalate it to 141, reducing it only after a Nation became One in their protests. Why the EFCC, ICPC, Code of Conduct Bureau, have lost a lot of teeth since 2-shoes, who always reiterates his resolve to fight corruption, took over. Corruption has obviously risen since he took over. More illegal refineries are found in the Niger Delta. Oil bunkering has increased too. Why a man, after seeing the crises from "agreement" in the PDP because of the North-South saga in 2011, will promise not to go for re-election but still is interested in 2015. A man who doesn't value the rules of his party cannot value our input as citizens, hence can't value Nigerian constitution.

I've seen enough of this administration, one obviously without LUCK. I want something new; something that I'll effectively be able to work with as from 2015. 4 years is a lifetime. We've had 3 years so far from a man who's had no serious conviction in the fight against corruption. Another 2-4 years will tear most hearts apart. 2015 is around the corner peeps. You decide, but decide wisely. Remember, no sentiments. Compare 1999-2007, then 2007-now.

    2. You must be stupid, give me facts and figures and stop yarning gibberrish..Nigeria is better since goodluck jonathan became president, our Gdp and all of that. Goodluck has been president for only two years. The issue with subsidy, I remain a suporter of the removal of subsidy. Where in the world do govt subsidize fuel or own universities or even hospitals or refineries? Until we realise that Govt can run this institutions properly if we want growth. The best universities in the world are not owned by any govt. During obj's tenure asuu went on strike for almost a year, he was the petroleum minister. He initiated to Godfatherism politics and y'all blame GEJ from a system that conceived him. I repeat GEJ is our best option, I only wish he was more radical not mr goody shoes

  38. BABATUNDE RAJI FASHOLA ALL DAY EVERY DAY. This is my first comment on this blog. Im from ekeremor lga in bayelsa state and i state here that i DO NOT SUPPORT GEJ. Nigeria needs a visionary leader, enlightened , decisive and exposed.....not just educated. Quite frankly i dont care where the next president comes from provided he posseses these qualities i have mentioned. Let us stop this tribalism and ethnicity and religious segregation...it is the bane of our country. In the absence of further candidates, i will vote for fashola, donald duke or pat utomi...but lets see how the elections go

GEJ doesn't have that willpower of a leader who wants to make a difference in a positive way, no zeal, no commitment. The business of governing Nigeria is no child's play so he shld honourably step aside. Fashola or Oshiomhole is my choice

  41. i too would love to see a woman rule nigeria, and i dont agree with the mind set that they can't rule.a woman that can survive and still make something of a life, career for herself in the misogynist Nigeria is stronger mentally and physically than a margaret thatcher.
the problem with women which we have seen on blogs and generally is inspire of their superior numbers in the voters register they are not united.
you can blame the men all you want but if Nigerian women came together and supported each other instead of back biting, jealousy and all the like they will outvote any male candidate
