STELLA PLEASE DOES IT PAY TO PROSTITUTE? i.e (RUNS)
I am seriously thinking about going into this runs business, First and foremost I am a very pretty light skinned girl. I have a first degree and also a Masters degree from well recognized Universities abroad. I just moved back to Nigeria with the hopes of getting a job, but apparently all light skinned girls here in Nigeria are assumed to be “RUNS” girls.
I have never had the need to sell my body for money, I am not from a wealthy background but I am very content with what I have, I always say until I can be convinced that all this wealth acquired through “RUNS” can be taken along to the great beyond only then would I start that business. I would not say I am a saint, but I believe strongly in Salvation and also fear God so much, but as it is now it is like I am the only one left out.
Right now I need a job, but everywhere I go, so far it's a man there, the next thing I hear is, you have to use what you have to get what you want? Like who does that? For goodness sake I am actually coming to add value to your company, why on earth do I have to please you first?
Should I just close my eyes harden my heart and just “use what I have to get what I want”? This life is just not fair, see me that would be hustling on my own, God will not look at me and just bless me once and for all, but this girls that desecrate their body which is your temple, they are the ones balling, in fact most of them get married to the best men and even have lovely kids after. Then we so called good girls are the ones that some times even end up with the bad guys after all our ostensible values and principles.
I observed that, there are only 3 ways to make money in Nigeria.
1. RUNS, Eg, Prostitution, Fraudulent activities… etc.
2. CONNECTIONS, i.e., you know people of power.
3. GOD, but thing about God is, our timing and his are not the same, The guy might say he would bless you in 15 years ,but that 15 years is like 5mins to him.
I chose the God’s way before, but I am having a rethink, because even the bible says do not be overly righteous, I started a small trade to keep body and soul together. I wish my folks had some connections, but sadly I come from a family where they believe in getting things for themselves by themselves.
So my fellow blog readers, I'm I the one that is overdoing the good girl thingy? Should I just start sleeping with men to get what I want? After all almost everybody is doing it. Even now that I do not do it, nobody believes me. Should I try it once and see if it pays? I have many questions to ask, but my little summary above should give you guys an idea of where I am coming from. I do not even want so much wealth, all I want is to stop being dependent on my parents.
Is that too much to ask?

Things are really bad in this country,iremide try going to law firms Around cms and yaba area, law firms usually recruit around December and this period, it's really sad that you have lost all hope already,dont go into runs tho,still try.I am a lawyer too, stayed at home for 6months before I got mine, believing God for a better one cos the pay is small.

NO, I have tried my hands at several businesses get some cash but it's exhausted before I get another one so here I am sitting at home hungry but thankful for better days, I started well and I have been faithful to God working for him and walking with him, even with my 2:1 and lil certifications. I rarely comment on this blog though I'm a regular reader but will share this because I've been led to, I will not tell you whether u should or shudnt do runs, but I will tell you my story. Coming from a broken home, and being naturally rebellious. In the university, I had altogether too much freedom on my hands. I also didn't know God. My father who is extremely well to do. Was giving us 10000 naira a month for upkeep, my mother could barely afford to look after herself greed,anger,and bitterness made me look into things my spirit naturally repelled. Men.

I was disgusted with myself, it affected me much more deeply than I had envisaged.mentally,spiritually, pshychologically I cudnt bring myself to do it ever again. Fast foward many years later, I am married have a baby. Things are so difficult for us, we are on the verge of being thrown out of our house by our landlord. I have my own business and work like a horse, just to make ends meet, I was praying yesterday at midnight and my mind flashed to that particular incident. I went on my knees and begged God for mercy and deliverance. Its been a tough road,but still I'm gratefull for Gods mercy This is the abbreviated version of my story. Its up to you. Just remember everything has a price.

OP, whatever you want to do,just make sure you do not take a permanent measure over a temporary issue. Runs is not as easy as you see it o and i hear it is very addictive.

ReplyDeleteGraduated from school and got a job immediately after service in VI. My salary was 50k but I commute from badagry to VI and back everyday. I was basically working for bus drivers as all my salary goes to transportation. Dint have a boyfriend but met a banker big boy who said he just wanted to take care of me. I told him of my plans to get a masters abroad and he promised to sponsor me....normally I wouldnt call myself a runs gal...never done it before, but going into a relationship just for what I hoped to get out of it would be in the runs category. Did I mention im dark skinned?..well, more like chocolate.
Anyhoos, relationship started, was getting a weekly upkeep of 50k from boyfy (my 1mnth salary in 1week for myself to use? Kai shegejagwa!). Life felt good, or so I taught...
That life came with emotional abuse and heartaches...When a man pays for your every need, there's a tendency he would treat you like trash...So I opted out.
I went back to God and he blessed me abundantly. I earn about 50k a day now and I have a man who worships the ground I walk on.

Okay i graduated with a second class upper in Petroleum Engineering in 2005, searched for job for years.Passed several aptitude tests, went for several interviews, reached final stages , never got the job, was involved in a ghastly car accident ,broke my hand and leg on my way back from interview,was in the hospital for 5months .I got a call for interview when i was in the hospital, still left the hospital with my bandaged hand to go for the interview, i still did not get the job. Travelled out did master's came back, still haven't gotten the job. All my friend got jobs in oil companies and now they have passed my level,nobody keeps in touch, i don't get invited to their events. I do small business, but still applying for jobs. These days i write test with my younger brothers friends and i am older than my younger brother with 6years ,they come to greet me when they see me in the test centre. Have i considered runs, not rlly its not in my DNA. I no sharp like d runs girls, d men go take me play. Everyday i thank God that i am still alive to continue to work hard. Some people were with me in the accident and are not alive to even complain. Its your choice , runs can make you or destroy you.Just because it works for some people does not mean it will work for you.

Because YOUR WORD says you will give us what we ask in the name of Jesus
I thank You for my job.'
Refuse to accept the negative picture devil paints to you. Create your own and believe God.
And you have to be specific, what type of job do you want? Where do you want to work?
Write your vision down,
Make it plain
Pray in faith and believe you have received.
Let God give you ideas, what are your areas of talent...you never know, maybe working in a firm may not be your calling....all I'm saying is GET REAL SISTER, FORGET RUNS, FOCUS ON GOD, HIS WORD, YOURSELF, AND MAKE WISE DECISIONS.

Like my mother would say, maybe its the day i start the RUNS, I would find myself in a shrine. I honestly do not have the mind for prostitution; If not I would have started it a long time ago, with the kind of offers that come my way. I am too proud and hold me in such high esteem to degrade myself to that level. I only sent this post out of frustration and anger after an incident that just occurred, I also wanted to know if there were girls like me out there, like the saying goes, only there wearer knows where the shoe hurts.
At a point i started to dress down, i stopped makeup, even started to rub Vaseline so i could get darker and look less attractive, but it even got worse, almost like i have the “come and price me” RUNS tag that attracts men stamped boldly on my forehead.
Like the matured posters said, wait for GOD's time, I will definitely continue to wait. I am not the "churchy" kind of girl, but like I said i fear God greatly and i also have a deep conscience.
I have given myself a target which must not surpass this year, after which I would pack my bags go back abroad and probably start a PhD.

I am also from a family with no connections and my mother is a trader, nothing big time. she barely managed 2 see 5 kids through nigerian universities. i graduated with !st class result, wrote series of tests and i got accepted into a multi national company. Now i am not saying everyone follows same path but the humble truth is that, there are jobs in Nigeria and you do not need to sleep with anyone for a job. The only deterrent you may have is your course of study and/or your grade. keep applying and keep praying but DO NOT prostitute for money. i believe it is not worth it.

ReplyDeleteI would rather approach it from a logical and business point if view. My conclusion after considering your situation is that you don't do runs, because it's not sustainable in the long run. At an average rate of 30k per guy, how many would you have to sleep with to make a million naira? And in how long? Also consider the wear and tear of your body and the "main" asset down there. After deducting your maintenance charges, transportation, brazilian hair etc and the associated risks of sleeping in strange places and risk of getting robbed and/or raped, plus the possibility of bad customers that won't pay, you will agree with me it's not a viable business.
Just weather the storm. And don't look down on jobs that don't pay so well, you just need a job that will take you out of your house and pay you enough for your feeding and transportation. It's always easier to get a job while employed already.

ReplyDeleteYeah Maybe you should start PhD. I don't know the state you are from but maybe you should consider applying for a scholarship . It makes the PhD a lot easier when you have extra funds. I also had the same issue like you. But God blessed me with someone that helped me with scholarship and i was able to start my research. I used to complain that good does not favour anyone, but the good made a man not related to me in anyway help me with scholarship just because he saw how focused and determined i was. Today i lecture part time in the university i do my research and i am being paid very good money and i still have my scholarship.
