As an ex-military man his letter should be taken seriously. Although his position on some issues sounds absurd ( like the so called genocide, attack of the Senate President in Imo State, etc), he makes some valid points - about the apparent inefficiency/ineffectiveness of the military establishment in handling the State of Emergency and tackling the Boko Haram insurgency. Military professionalism and efficiency have declined since the civil war because of the rapid expansion, poor training and increasing wealth and worldliness of the Military. The State of Emergency was not well thought out; and there were compromises that appear to have weakened the exercise. If a real State of Emergency was in place, people like Nyako's would not be there as Governor. Now it is not clear who is running the show.
