RE- Three Children Die In Amuwo Odofin Fire Outbreak

This is the house that was burnt down in Amuwo Odofin on the night Tuesday November 11,2014 killing three very young Children aged 10years,7years and 6months old respectively.
Read the story HERE

My sources say that the Lady has been admitted into Yaba left for treatment and that her present condition is really bad,her Hubby is reportedly in a private Hospital also receiving treatment.

Insiders say that the candle that caused the fire was the candle that the Pastor of her Church allegedly gave to her to burn to avert any calamity befalling the three kids.

May the souls of the three Angels rest in peace...whatever happened that night is known to God alone!

God please heal the bereaved...please give them strength to bear this shocking and painful loss.

    2. Oh Lord have mercy!!! Couldn't take this woman off my mind all day, and here again we have a disheartening update. Who wouldn't run mad Stella? 3 whole full bodied healthy kids just like that. I have no comment about the candle or the use of it. All I know is that the Devil was on this woman's case that night. Doesn't mean God neglect her, it's just that destiny had to establish itself in their life. Albeit tragically. May God heal her o. So sad

    3. Mama J, please this post is for u. As I read ur submission on the earlier post of this woman's tragedy. U explained that ur kids are always by themselves in that same estate until u return from work. That u had to hire a ladder on this said night, to have someone call their names before they opened the door for u. Now here's my 2cents. Not because of any accident, God forbid. But for the simple fact that ur neighbours or whoever u asked to climb the ladder is now aware of ur schedule, and that could pose as DANGER. What if they try to get into ur house before u arrive from work one day? Pls change ur routine. Perhaps u can arrange for them to stay with ur neighbour till u get home from work. That's all

    1. Abeg shut up and stop blaming spiritual churches. In as much as I sympathise with the woman, she was the one that exposed her children to the said calamity.
In a sane society, she'll probably be prosecuted for this senseless act.
May the devil not be wiser than us.

  20. This story makes my heart bleed.
The candle that was meant to prevent calamity from befalling those innocent kids caused the calamity!
    What an irony.
I'm sure the woman must have believed that the said candle is a holy candle and can't cause harm to her kids.
That explains why she had the heart to leave those minors ( especially the 6 months old baby) unsupervised with a burning candle.
She counted on the candle to protect them!
    SMH
    Rest in peace little Angels.

Their mum must be going out of her mind with guilt. I don't want to imagine how she will be feeling. And their poor dad...Chai!
    It's a pity.
I wish the poor parents quick recovery and may God wipe their tears soonest and put smiles back in their face, Amen.

SHAME on all those ranting on the other post that a 10 years old child is old enough to take care of a baby of 6 months unsupervised, (I can understand if the baby is upto 1 and above).
You all need to be arrested!
Bow your heads in shame, especially the mothers amongst you. You want to throw shades @ me and you ended up showing how stupid and wicked you are.
I can bet it's your type that bring in children less than 10years into your homes as maids and expect the poor child to act and think like an adult.

I trust my hubby too and i can say he does not cheat on me(at least none that i know of) and i say it out to my friends and colleagues anytime. So what is ur fuss all about. People be hating for no reason. mtcheeeewwwe

    6. Oh Anon or Joan! You people are impossible! When people talk about how bad their marriages/relationships are, I read the 'oh, awwwww, hold on, leave, and the other blahs before the constant begging for someone to share a story any story about marital bliss'! But when someone actually says she has a good home/marriage it's the same people who come to scream 'liar, your husband is smart, you're living in denial/fantasy land'! The woman's home is perfect, deal with it! And what she wrote up there makes sense. What is wrong with you people, you complain at a sensible and senseless comment? World people! Hian!!!

  26. The thought of what happened and the pains the couple must be feel actually drove some shivers all over me.
Genny baby, don't mind those that were saying a 10 years old can look after the kids at home. I heard the oldest amongst the children was trying to run out of the house with the six months old in her hands but couldn't get out on time because the lintel or door feel on her and the baby, she was holding the child in her hands burnt

Who lights a candle in this modern age?
The only candle permitted in my house is the love making scented candles.

  28. Its not a question of whether the pastor gave her a candle or not. Its just sheer carelessness which led to these kids death. Even though its an anointing service to avert disaster, the devil is forever looking for agents. Its just a pity though.

  29. @ Genny thanks for that comment there is no way a 10yr kid can take care of a 6months baby without an adult being around. Pls mothers stop taking all this kids for a maid n expected him or her to act or think as an adult. Hmmmmm go back to ur memory lane n check if u re taking care of ur sibling(6months) wen u re in DAT age. My ANUTY DAT am staying with can't even leave her 4yr old son only with her first daughter DAT is 12 without any adult in d house.

Genny baby I allways love ur reasoning. U are just a good mother keep it up.

Back to the matter the devil is a liar, maybe the man of God meant no harm, but since the kids died he'll be held responsible...its really a pity, that the candle was given at the wrong time (that's if the pastor isn't guilty)

  34. The pastor gave her the candle, did he also instruct her to light it & lock them inside alone? One thing is for sure, the pain of this incidence will linger till the rest of her life. 3 kids? Just like that?? May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace. Amen!

  41. Very Sad incidence. Its not the first time this has occurred in that neighborhood, been living there for 5years now and the residents are difficult to counsel on safety measures for a six flat building with only one entrance! One entrance to access d first and second floors :( we have said in the estate meetings for residents to buy fire extinguishers, but it falls on deaf ears as every year we loose 2flats and lives especially at the last floor!
My first time ever to leave a comment on SDK..... very sad news!

  43. I still hurt inside me reading, even crying to hear that the oldest tried to run out with the baby. It hurts really bad, imagining the whole thing. I grew up in cele, and such candles are burnt in an open place or placed on a stainless plate, far away from any combustible item. I am still asking where did she place the candle and why was the door not opened from outside? My pain is for the children most and the father. All food sellers don't cook on Sunday, even the most popular 'Belgium reaturant' Block 73 is along the road from the main entrance after the mile2 bridge. I live opposite the shopping center, and I still ponder, who was buying cooked noodles by that time because Sundays are not busy in the Estate! RIP to the little kids.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Just an act of carelessness. I cannot leave my kids all alone in the apartment for 5 minutes. No matter the situation. Leaving a candle light on and locking up the apartment is the height of stupidity. For the house to burn dat much, she must have been away for over an hour.

Religion has brainwashed many Nigerians. A fake white garment pastor tells u candle will prevent calamity and u agreed. God save your people. Loosing 3 kids is no joke.
