ReplyDeleteI lost respect for flaunted rings after my 3 weeks on NYSC camp. Stella, what my eyes saw my mouth can't talk.
ReplyDeleteMarried women were being sent homes every other day. I served in the west and our camp was beside the rocks and hills and they have palmi shades and all there, minor brothels everywhere. It was hell. I was friends with the commandmt, cos my inlaw is in the army so at least i was covered on that end. Hmmm.... Corpers falling in love with soldiers everywhere, sex everywhere. Women with small boys in mami market, when soldiers are chasing people out at night they don't disturb those 'special' ones. Abeg, it was hell.
The annoying part was when one platoon director asked me to be his babe for my service year, that he would help me get posted to a choice place, as my camp redeployment didn't work. As God will have it, I was redeployed afterwards. The guy now calls me months later, that he has been sacked. Sounding all frustrated and was even begging me to assist him. I sha sent him some money. He now called me apologizing for how he looked down on me in camp. I just told him that when you are in a position to help, you don't have to put conditions to it.
The whole NYSC thing is just a scam, really.
NYSC is truly a total waste of time. No be ny force to marry..why are married women disgracing themselves in camp since 1900...namsense!
