Children Scramble In Gutters For Noodles And Sweets Thrown By Campaigners In Lagos

During the visit of the PDP campaign train to Ojodu area in Lagos State yesterday, packets of noodles, biscuits and sweets were shared to women and children in the streets to call their attention.

Campaigners threw packs of goodies at various shops to attract attention. Many times, the packs went into the gutters with children scrambling about in the dirty gutter for them.

This is the sad story of Nigeria...Yes,most people live like beggars!
I cannot for the life of me imagine that these kids would eat this..Infact,let me VOMIT and come back!

    1. See the level of poverty we live in. This is why we must vote in GMB. If the parents are employed then kids will definitely have something to eat and this disguised impunity will not happen.

INEC should ban political parties from sharing things abeg.
That was how a child almost died in 2007 when Fashola was campaigning because of backpack. The boy was almost trampled to death. According to him, he had no bag, so he had no choice than to get one by fire by force.

Nigeria gat a long way to go!

  19. What do you expect the children to do. Stay back and let the sweet be inside gutter. If we train our kids well, they will never behave like dat. Many people are hungry, so the politicians know how to entice people. Nigerians are selling their birth right whether APC, PDP, SDP etc. So dont blame the politicians, blame the people that dont want to learn

    1. What are you saying? You are contradicting urself. "if we train our kids well, they will never behave like that",,,,,,"many people are hungry,so politicians know how to entice people". Most of these kids u see here dont even have hope for the next meal cos their parents cant afford it. Is it someone who cant afford good food for his/her child that will have money to spare to buy sweets and biscuits for the child? This has nothing to do with training, it only shows d level of poverty and hunger. The kids saw what their parents cant afford to give them for free and they are just struggling to get it.

Stella, go to a typical Nigerian party and see how some guests hustle for food, hustle for souvenirs.., serious commotion and chaos everywhere. Why do people rush for buses even when there are empty seats in the bus?

Beyond poverty, we need to change our mindset as a people. Why are they even sharing sweets? i tire for Nigeria.
