Senior Police officer’s wife arrested for robbery

The wife of a senior police officer is currently being held at Meiran Police Division in Alimosho Local Government in connection to an armed robbery operation.

The suspect was arrested for allegedly buying stolen goods from armed robbers and is now being investigated for conspiracy and robbery along five other suspects in Lagos.

The said woman, whom police refused to name, was arrested by the residents of Ajasa-Command Estate, Ipaja at the weekend and handed over to the police.

According to the confession of a suspected armed robbery gang leader, Gbenga Akinola, the police officer's wife encouraged them to go for the operations so she could buy the stolen goods  from them at giveaway price.

Gbenga Akinola’s confession also led to the arrest of four other suspects and weapons were recovered from them.

The husband of the suspect reportedly serves at Oduduwa Police Division in Ikeja, Lagos.-culled Pmnews

Police and thieves are BFF right from time....what a pity.

  16. Stella that ur comment is so wrong. This seems to me like a blackmail. You cannot use the action of a single policeman's wife and judge all our men on black. All these attacks on police are not good and must be condemned. These men sacrifice their lives for the safety of our lives and properties. While we sleep in the comfort of our homes at night, these men are at the parks, highways, bus stops and other dangerous places, just to make sure our environments are safe.

    1. Ahhh ezewanyi, how is she innocent, she encouraged them to go steal, so she can buy the goods cheap, she is as guilty as the people that went to steal.

It seems U dont know d way this shit works.

    3. U can be right but what if its really true she encouraged them, doing it because she is senior officers wife, feeling she would be untouchable, people really abuse power in Nigeria. They do and undo

    4. Ezenwanyi, I am beginning to like the way you reason. This story does not add up. It is possible the woman bought stolen goods from them, but encouraging them to go an steal? Biko, are they kids?

      Delete
    5. Na lie jor. Innocent ke? You'll be shocked it's not her first time and she knows they are stolen. Is it not like those people that enter salons to market expensive stuff at ridiculously cheap prizes... who doesn't know they are stolen goods? don't we see some people trying to sell latest phones that's worth like 150k for 20k? Anyone who buys expensive things at very cheap rates has a questionable character himself.

    1. Stella you maybe misunderstanding me, is not about you, is about the armed robber. He might be blackmailing the police officer's wife. The manner of his confession points to that if you can read between the lines.
