    1. Why didn't the students rush to their hostel to provide a bed from there then let's see if they won't admit her. Nigerians only have sense after it is late. Stupid students, you all caused her death. You did nothing!!!!!

    2. Anon 00:45....... you're dense for this response! May this happen to your kin......so you'd rush home to get bed & mattress for them...... Shior kelebe..... oolooorun!!!!

    3. Do you know portharcourt? Do you know the proximity of the school to the teaching hosp. It is just about 2 mins walk.
So,it is better they left her there for hours and she died? May vulture feed on you and your entire lineage.
You prefer to complain instead of coming up with a solution. Oya she is dead, go and raise her up with riots. Ewu gambia.

    1. Exactly what came to my mind when I first read the story. It's negligence on both sides. One hour is enough for them to move her to another hospital.

      May she RIP

    2. She was at a very critical condition, there was no time to rush her to another hospital besides they gave them another option of resuscitating her at least in a chair they say there is no oxygen. Her death is just one out of many. The non chalant and negligence of that hospital killed Dat gal.

    3. Uniport is not in town now,
UPTH is their university hospital for crying out loud.
Which is d biggest hospt in rivers state

      Delete
    4. You cannot resuscitate on a chair. You need a bed for a patient that is unconscious ( slumped). Secondly, why keep her when there is no oxygen?denying her access to othe hospitals that can help eg (BMH) If they had started resuscitation on a chair people will take pictures and send to blogs. Nigerians have the habit of not doing the needful early, one hour is enough to take her to BMH or any other hosp. UPTH is the biggest hosp in PH and Dats why everyone wants to be. Treated there and Dats why they are always filled up and Dats why if you go to another place and they give you referral then you have a case. You cannot insist on a particular hosp when someone is dying. Govt shuld increase the size of the emergency and provide enough bed. Oxygen shuld never lack in a hosp as UPTH. When health workers go on strike, the masses sides the govt. Who suffers it? It is still us. Life wasted, others yet to be wasted. Smh.

    5. They are there doing ITK, you are teaching a health worker what to do instead of rushing to d hostel to bring a bed. For how many hours, senseless students that don't have any iota of intelligence. Now all of you are trooping out to prevent more patients from getting treated. And in d course of the protest, one of you collapses again you will run back to the mercy of the nurse and doctor. Olodos.

  10. RIP KEL. You see how money is being stolen in port harcout upon say they have oil but poverty just finish the people.

All the money stolen cannot be used to equip medical institutions. Amaechi and Wike oya ooo the two of you should do something about this.

  11. Na wa o. No bed space so they won't attend to her? I pity doctors at times but many of them av become so lifeless and conscience less

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Are you not sounding mentally retarded? Where will she stay while they attend to her? Didn't you read that she slumped meaning that she was unconscious. Why delay them when they can easily go to somewhere else with vacancy and Oxygen. How will they attend to her without Oxygen? You think it is home video where they will just start running around and doing abracadabra. This kind of patient requires oxygen. It is your govt that is conciencless that they cannot equip govt hospitals yet they expect doctors to peform magic.

  28. Is there no other hospital around Choba?.

Students must be students n in their young lives, they may not know that these nurses do not care for human lives because they see people die like fowl everyday. UPTH greatly needs improvement, even BMH. A christian sister died there bcos she was having complications during labour n her people brought her there. Of course, there was "no bed space". This woman cried, screamed n begged nurses not to let her die. How can there be bed spaces when all the docs have very functional private clinics?.

Are Nigerian Drs really trained to save lives?. Are they?. Why are nurses very mean? Why?. The Dr on duty may not even know a girl lay dying.
    A student of Uniport
    Someone's beloved daughter

Doesn't uniport have a clinic?. If the clinic had taken her to upth in their ambulance, wouldn't they hv attended to her.
Students, pls register with your school health care scheme. Please.

I am a mother and I am pained hence the long comment.
May Kel rest in peace. Amen.

    3. I concur with you to some extent but Madame there are some cases that are above school health centres. Why bother going to a health centre where they don't have good medical service in serious situations? Greed has so consume our medical practitioners in this country. If they had given them a hundred thousand I believe beds would have appeared out of nowhere. May her soul rest in peace.

You guys are all protesting now abi? when it was still important for you to help u didnt and now u are protesting abi? who were those that took her to the UPTH, stayed with her for good 6hours to watch her die? what happened after u see that your patient was not attended to for the next 1-2hours, why didnt u take her out? Well God is watching our actions.... RIP girl... omobar.blogspot.com

    1. D u know University of Port Harcourt? It yes then u will know that it is located in d rural part of rivers state (d distance to another hospital is nt close) OK let s say Dat is not an excuse. It took years before the nurses finally came with d bed space excuse. Her state was very critical too, when they suggested that dey should at least administer first aid treatment while she is sitted they say there is no oxygen.

    2. @Omogbai, It's always easy to open mouth and talk from afar..these students rushed her to the nearest clinic and then channeled energy towards trying to get the people there to help her, im sure they took her bp &temp and other stats dat wld make any normal people reluctant to be the ones to remove her and travel d at least 1hr trip into main town PH as well as battle any demands a private clinic might make b4 treatment...let's not look at wat extra they cld have done but why d absolute good they did didn't work in d 1st place

    3. Facts weren't gotten right my dear. She was taken to Anoda hospital after she wasn't accepted there. They didn't spend 1 hour in UPTH. So let's not throw blames.

  35. I have been opportune to attend series of medical inductions where doctors swear to save life no matter what. It's pathetic to see them not owning up to their responsibilities/oath. Later they will start pouring all the problems of this country on politicians whereas most of us are not playing our roles. Greed and corruption has so eaten into the conscience of medical practitioners in this country. Some professions are basically for service to humanity first before financial benefits. I believe if the students had given them a mighty deposit bed spaces would have appeared.
God have mercy on us all.
May her soul rest in peace and may God give her family the fortitude to bear the loss.

  36. UPTH..hmmm still in d business of letting people die..when I was in school,my friend's boyfriend died there. Gunshot wound to the leg o..even with a mopol with us,they didn't attend to us..they just let him bleed to death. We were in d hospital from 12midnight till 5am before he died. They did nothing to stop the bleeding.Same no bed space story.we protested then..so its stil the same story after all these years. RIP

  40. Rest in peace my dear, there is always no space but there are spaces for their relatives. We all paid our medical bills without a kobo left but unattended. Which way Nigeria? If u are not recommended nothing happens. Our Father in Heaven we trust u, Kel u had ambition but out of carelessness n nonchalant attitude ur life was cut short. Lord one of ur greatest commandment is to love one another but u know better. RIP my dear.

  41. Thank you to all those who spoke up on behalf of the Doctors and nurses. It is ur Government that you should hold accountable not the health workers. Why is there no bed space? Is it the Doctors fault? Why didn't they take her to another hospital? Is it the Doctors fault? Why was there no Oxygen? Is it the Doctors fault. Do you know that the Doctors that are on duty by 6am in the morning have been there for close to 24 hours and even more than that in many cases. You won't let ur driver touch ur car if you think he didn't get a good night's sleep yet u expect a Doctor who is handling a human life to be fully functional after close to 48 hours of no sleep. The Doctors are under paid, over worked , understaffed and all in a very bad and uncondusive environment. I am a Doctor and I'm talking from experience. RIP dear departed
