    2. No, it's not weird... is a big way of getting cohabitation outa d way! And mind you, a wedding is a wedding as long as it is 1. In a church 2. Sealed by a minister 3. Before a witness gbam! Be it morning mass, vigil mass, day time, before a multitude, with 1000 other couples, everyone made to say their own vow!

    3. Nothing weird abt dis oh. Na man and woman wed not woman and animal. In fact during festive periods like X'mas and Easter this mass wedding happens a lot.

    4. Its St Vincent Stella. It's a mass wedding, a Catholic Church initiative to help people who can't afford the cost of wedding ceremony.. Especially those that have done traditional wedding and can't afford to do church wedding and already have kids. The church even provides refreshments too.

    6. It's isn't weird.
It's a normal practise in the catholic church. It's done mostly for couples who can't afford a wedding with nice reception.
Some societies in church take responsibility of the reception, and provide food, drinks and other things needed for the reception. At the end of it all, couples go home happy and fulfilled .

    2. Most of them use there as their last resort. Anything goes in a catholic church. Those pregnant ones that can't wed in other churches use catholic as their last bus stop.

Noting will even take me there sef. Parents are not even catholics

    3. E be like say the hand glove na catholic tradition. I've seen correct babe's that know fashion and what's in vogue that wedded there and used hand gloves

    5. You see how shallow ur reasoning is?..
This is called 'mass wedding'.... Now, instead of a couple saying, ' I don't have money for big wedding, let's just continue living together till I make it'... the church says, come you all, as long as you have willingly gone through the marriage class, you will be wedded! I bet, u were blind to the guy without a suit? Smh!
      Seriously, I don't understand you e-people.
      God bless the church!

    6. It's by choice,u can decide to wed in group,or have ur own special wedding my dear,my bro wedded in catholic church, and it was just him..

      Delete
    7. It's not done for every wedding. Most times such weddings are free, to encourage people living in sin to marry lawfully. U just bring ur guests while the church foots d bill of food and drinks as e reach their power. Inugo???

    8. Your comment has really described you. I know u will soon send ur chronicle so (nor be curse ooo). Opening your mouth to say rubbish about people's faith really described how well you are brought up.

    9. U'll rather be a spinster(aunty gwegz), (old cargo) than to have a mass wedding in a catholic church? May it be so according to ur words, amen

    10. K ovals?!
Who doesn't know wat a mass wedding is?
Na me u wan dey teach vocab?

      I bet u r a catholic, dats y u sound dis pain.
Next time be more open minded.
I still dislik, not just Catholic weddings but dia services too, its such a bore. Bite me!

BTW I didn't see d guy without a jacket cos of d too many distractns .

      Delete
    12. @pinkshell, yea u dislike their services too...cos their sermons hit straight home right?......u wld know if u've been there......what? U feel awkward during communion cos u know people will see ur sinful ass on the chair everytime....wondering y u never go forward...bcos they actually preach repentance and nt just hw to get rich, fry ur hair and wear spandex to church?.....don't worry, something with teeth like a croc will bite u someday

  11. I'm sure they're all pregnant brides. Catholic Church doesn't give you the liberty to walk down the aisle alone if you have evidence of fornication right in front of you.

    1. Please mass weddings are sometimes for people that cannot afford elaborate weddings and the trappings involved.

Most of them have been living with their spouses and having kids, the Revered Fathers encourage them to come forward for the sacrament of marriage.

I love my catholic wedding anytime, anyday!
There is something royal abourit, like Cinderella... with your knight in shinning armour.

    1. If this is d reason u 'prefer pentecostal church'... lol... then, am sorry! U r abt the wedding, not a marriage! Say ur vow and let the next person do! Aside mass wedding as it is called, so if as a member, there are three of you who coincidentally have same wedding day, you'd walk away cos u don't wanna share ur big day?.. oh! I forgot, such churches barely have numbers!

  13. This kind of wedding in catholic church is called mass wedding whereby those who are traditionally married and living together for years will get the chance to do their church wedding in a low key. Some of them are old men and women who already has grown up kids but has not wedded in the church.

    Congrats to them

  29. Wedding is wedding
The most important thing is being in marriage and keep the vow you took

Big wedding or small wedding doesn't make sense to me.

    Girls be real for once

  30. There is nothing wrong with mass wedding, its fun,its good news.
    That's how I see it.
Whether its ur big day or not,u still get to exchange ur normal vows.
The purpose is still to get license to fornicate no more.
    Kapish!

  31. I have witnessed 42 at St. Agnes Maryland some years back. A friend was one of the couples then, the wedding sef don dabaru like 7yrs ago.

  32. @pink shell said Catholic's conduct mass wedding because of couples who could not afford wedding during their time. Many couples came into marriage thru shortcut eg...pregnancy and those who financially could not afford it. The church decided to make it easy& avoidable. if you are not weeded in catholic church, your children will not be allowed to receive the first holy communion known as sacrament of the holy Eucharist. Therefore, it summoned &made it necessary for couples to wed. Also, due to the scantiness & insufficient people in the church, the church sometimes wed two or more people to pull a lot of crowd& people seen at the church.
