Simon Achuba Sworn In As Kogi Deputy Gov

Simon Achuba was on Tuesday, sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, in Lokoja the state capital.

Achuba filled the vacuum in the deputy governorship position after Mr James Faleke refused to be Governor Yahaya Bello’s deputy.

Last year, Achuba defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and he is a former Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

    1. See how Faleke allowed his original position slip away. In life ehn, we can't win all abeg.

After all, the plan ab-initio was for you to be deputy. The way you are now carrying on with this governorship position is making me wonder whether you've been nurturing the ambition silently even before Audu passed. Or would you have 'killed' Audu if he didn't die? Or impeached him?

I'm just thinking aloud. As you'll spend over 4years in court chasing shadows. By which time this governor would have completed his term... so whose loss? You'll lose your energy and little resources.

    1. Nope. There's a clause to that section of the constitution. It's not compulsory, if the deputy designate for whatever reasons decides to relinquish his position, the governor can be sworn in without him. After which the party can choose a replacement. That is exactly what has happened here
