-. The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has forwarded
the name of Prince John Ola Mafo to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the running mate of Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) in the November 26 governorship elections. This is to comply with the directive by INEC that all issues relating to the election be resolved latest today.


- Following the recommendations made by its joint committees on ethics and privileges and foreign affairs which was charged to investigate the allegation of rape against some lawmakers, the House of Representatives on Tuesday exonerated three of its members accused of sexual misconduct by the United States.


- A motion seeking the Senate to invite the Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Lawan Daura over the arrest of some judges was on Tuesday thrown out. Senator Joshua Lidani from Gombe state, in the motion urged the Senate to invite Daura to explain the reason behind the clampdown on the judges and the manner the secret police carried out the operation, but a voice vote threw the motion out.



-. The General Overseer of the Word Bible Church International, Prophet Julius Kumoluyi, has thrown his support for the proposed sale of the nation’s assets to bail the country out of the present recession, saying the proposal was a wise economic decision. He argued that instead of embarking on borrowing which can enslave the country, sale of assets was a better option.


- The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has announced that prospective 2016 Batch B corps members would be mobilized to camp for their orientation programme, as from 24th of November and will complete their orientation on the 13th of December, 2016. This is contained in its timetable made public on Tuesday.



- The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, on Tuesday disclosed that its fighter aircraft had destroyed the logistics base of the Boko Haram insurgents at the Sambisa forest. It announced further that several members of the Islamic sect were killed in the raid. This was disclosed by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the NAF, Group Capt. Ayodele Famuyiwa.


- The Edo State Election Petitions Tribunal, Tuesday, granted a motion ex parte to the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu to inspect all materials used in the last governorship election in the state. This was granted by the three-man panel of judges led by Justice A.T Badamasi.


- The Federal government will commence its school feeding programme this month of October. This was disclosed by the Vice- President, Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday. The Vice-President announced this during an interview with some journalists. He said many states will begin the programme before the end of the month.

- A Federal High Court sitting in Abia State capital, Umuahia, Tuesday remanded in prison custody a chieftain of the APC in the state, Chief Benjamin Apugo over an alleged N36 million fraud preferred against him by the EFCC.


- Report says the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has sent the names of six more judges to the DSS for further investigation. The report says the names the AGF sent to the DSS were those who were contained in a petition earlier, but were not investigated.
