Ngige Says FG Will Increase Salaries Next Year

Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has promised Nigerian workers that they will get a pay rise next year.

Ngige said this in Awka, the Anambra State capital, during an interactive session with journalists on Tuesday.
He explained that the various committees handling the minimum wage issue would soon come up with a solution.

Ngige said: “minimum wage is a constitutional issue and is in the exclusive list.
“The Nigerian workers are entitled to a review of their pay under the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“The various committees handling this matter are all working hard to realise the objective. Some are at the final stages of their work.”

The former Anambra Governor also noted that the minimum wage would be enforceable by workers in both private and public sectors.

    1. I've never seen a regime where federal civil servants are not paid for months. This is the 3rd month. Last dispensation December salary would've been paid by 20th Max, now I've not seen Oct salary and his one is talking increment.

No promotion arrears for the last promotion and I am due for another one this year ( which by the way for the first time no one is even sure when it's happening)

      Everything is just upside down.
      I regret this change, Aswear
