Doc In House Section..

Na wah!

SLUMPED TWICE

Bvs, something strange has happened twice in my house. My husband
has slumped twice. Both times, he woke up, went to the toilet to ease
himself and slumped. I was the one that carried him out of the toilet
in both circumstances.

The first time it happened, I thought it was due to shock. It
happened that one of his boys(nwa boyi) was seriously sick. We were
treating malaria yet no improvement. Till that fateful night around
around 1am. I went to check on my kids when I heard someone groaning
in pains and vomiting reddish substances. It was the nwa boy.

So I ran inside, woke my husband and told him what was happening. He woke
up, went straight to the toilet, started urinating and then slumped.
I shouted, and then carried him to the bed. I was the one that drove
the boy to the hospital that time of the night. (The boy was later
diagnosed of perforated ulcer and was operated upon) Truth be told, I
thought my husband did that deliberately to avoid driving the boy to
the hospital that night( I am more courageous and fearless than
him)until this same thing repeated itself on the 31st of Dec.

Hubby was to travel to the east that day .Immediately, the alarm clock rang
at 4:00am. He woke up from the bed, entered the toilet to urinate and
I heard him fall. I shouted, rushed and helped him to the bed. He
got himself and started asking me what just happened to him. I just
Dont know what to make out of this. That morning, we decided that when
he comes back from the villa, we are going to run an extensive full
body test at the hospital. I want to ask, has anyone ever experience
something of a kind.

Doctors, what do you call this kind of thing?.
And if we go to the hospital, what and what test should we tell them to
carry out on him. Lastly, the hospital requires a referral before
carrying out a test on someone. I know we are going to the hospital
but what could this be. Your contributions are highly needed. Thanks
so much.

    4. Sounds to me like postural hypotension. He needs to see a doctor to be placed on some tablets which will help.
He needs to keep a urine bottle by the bed to use at night or stand gently(from lying, sit then gently stand before walking)

    5. Exercise ke. He has to see a Physician first to certify he is fit to exercise.

  2. It's not a big deal. It's not good to stand up immediately after waking up cos blood won't have circulated to the brain. Tell him to lay down for a while after waking up and sit up for a while before attempting to stand up. Also tell him to take a lot of water during the day and some before he sleeps. I had the same experience some years back and that was the solution I was given. Madam, don't worry, he's fine.

  5. Madam, he slumped and u took him to the bed ni? Ha!

And u still allowed him to travel without going to the hospital?

Be careful o. My neighbor slumped and my sis was going there to greet the wife, saw the bathroom open with the man on the floor and she raised alarm. Hospital straight.

Next time, take ur husband straight to the hospital. I think it's too much thinking.

Is everything ok with u guys? Is business going on well?

  8. Dear poster, God will perfect your husband's healing.
It's good you are going to the hospital.
There are many causes of loss of consciousness, but I'll pick the top 5 most likely suspects with the history you gave (you can look them up yourself too).
    1. Orthostatic hypotension, when a person changes position too quickly (especially from sitting/lying down to standing) without giving enough time for blood to flow to the head and upper body.
    2. Petite mal or absence seizure, there may not be spasms or vibrations but the person blanks out
    3. Hypoglycemia, not enough sugar in the blood
    4. Hyperglycemia, too much sugar in the blood
    5. Trauma, he probably suffered a head injury prior to the falls. This is a more serious case

    ReplyDelete
  9. Wow this sounds serious...hope he gets help asap

If only I read medicine now, would av given u good medical advice on this, brb to read comments

  12. It could be anything. No need raising your blood pressure with numerous opinions. Just like going to web.md to check on your symptoms. You'd die of BP before the sickness kills you sef. Just relax pray and visit the hospital first narrate all to the doctor.

    1. Natural remedy ke? Will it completely remove it??? My dear, surgery is lit, lemme know if you change ur mind

      Delete
    2. My sister, there is no natural remedy for goitre. They will just chop your money clean mouth. I had it for almost 4yrs. The first 2 years I used natural herbs with schnapps no changes. Had to go to general hospital here in Lagos. Finally had the surgery done last yr Jan with a very clean scar. Though I was very fed up with their nonchalant attitude but it was worth it.
Pls ignore herbs it won't work..

    3. A change of diet and lifestyle can take care of goitre. See Rev. Tony Akinyemi of the Shepherd Flock Church Ikeja. He teaches on how to heal the body with food.

    4. I had goitre for years,utyroid... I dint do anything to it, no surgery and it is no more there, was on neo-cabimazole for so long and propernonol. No surgery ooh.

  14. Dear Poster, pls take ur husband to see a cardiologist. I pray God heals him. Dear BVs, pls I need advice. I have been having recurring candida infection for years now that comes with an uncomfortable itch. Each time I go to the hospital, the doctor recommends mycoten and d likes. After use, it goes and comes back again. The only symptom is the itch, no pain, no smell. Just d discomfort that comes with d itch. I have read various predisposing factors, none applies. I do not have HIV( as I run regular routine tests). I haven't had sex in like 2 years. I only recently observed that its less recurrent when I stay off sugar, but for how long? Pls, who's been through a similar situation? I am tired.

    1. Change all of your pants. I mean all and then watch where you wee wee. Avoid public places and practice good hygiene. You will be fine. Clean our vagina everytime you wee wee.

      Delete
    2. Buy KLOVINAL which contains six tablets for insertion. It works wonders and also good for women who are pregnant and experience that.Pls also check your sexual partners.

    3. I knew it has something to do with sugar. Go check your sugar level. Best of luck

    4. In addition to what Ldf said, keep ur vaginal dry always and sleep pantless so the area can get some ventilation too. You should also invest in some expensive potent "wetin dem dey call am sef? This drugs that you insert in the VJJ" ehen. Use them properly and you should be fine. If you can change your towel too, fine o. And don't wear clothing that will lock your ties tight. Sometimes candida can be stubborn but don't stress, it will go. Stress can keep it recurring. Stay off the sugar like you noticed so to let the area get used to being dry. You can gradually introduce sugar. Do these things and try not to worry so much about it. All the best.

    8. Avoid sugar, sweet things, use baby wipes to clean up after using d toilet, always wipe from front to back, change your undies regularly, stop washing there with soap, use panty liner regular, make sure you change it from time to time each time you feel wet or cold down there, keep yourself clean, always go to bed without wearing pants or boxers, stop wearing tight jeans, trousers, wear free clothes. Use ciprofloxacin 500mg and klovinal you will be fine dear.

I would say check his blood count (FBC) and BP - can be done by a Nurse
Then get him to see a Neurologist.
