Mohammed said the reason was because the president needed the best medication, hence his reason to travel overseas.
He gave this explanation during a live radio programme titled, ‘Morning Crossfire’, on Nigeria Info, Abuja, 95.1FM, on Thursday.
During the phone-in programme, an angry caller had slammed the All Progressives Congress-led government for going back on its promise to bar public officials from travelling abroad for medical treatment at the expense of taxpayers.
In his reaction, however, Mohammed said, “My answer is very simple. Mr President is our father, he is the leader of the nation and I think he deserves the best in terms of medical treatment.”

ReplyDeleteThe intelligent answer should have been "that doctors recommended that experts handle the presidents illness and the best specialist in that area can only be sourced abroad" chikena. When asked what the illness is, answer " its not for me to say, the president we address that when he gets back as sickness is a private thing and he reserves his right to privacy, thanks"
