The closest to horror I saw last year was "The Following".
I watch a lot of legal, medical drama series and then a lot of sitcoms.
"Blackish" has captured my heart since this year. I have been obsessing over it.

Meanwhile I just can't understand why FX cancelled Tyrant after only 3 seasons!

Not so sure if I will find them scary now but as an adult... my vote goes to 'The Ring' especially the first part.
I literally jumped back in fear when the evil child crawled out of a well, crawled towards the TV and stuck a hand out of the TV! Did I mention that it was a dude watching her crawl towards the TV inside the movie? #jitters#

  40. This is a testimony... I almost strangled my niece,a pupil cos I was teacher and my son few months after birthing him. This happened after watching one horror movie like that that was mostly blood sucking and incantations.I was really thirsty for blood then and how i overcame it was through prayers and speaking to the devil when the thought came and sometimes would leave my baby to another room just not to kill him. That night I watched that movie...was begging my niece to leave my room but she refused and I had to push her out and shutdown my laptop.God gave me the grace to overcome and be delivered of that evil spirit.
P!ease fellow bvs u guys should stop watching those horror movies...they are not of God.

Anon 13.32 you are right. Whenever i watch a horror movie centred around exorcisms, i always feel a dark presence and i stop watching till another time. If your spirit is not strong it's better not to watch some horror films. The exorcism of emily rose was a movie that gave me nightmares for weeks and i will not recommend that film to anyone, it's based on a true story.

The only thing that scared me once many years ago was a book - The witching hour by Anne Rice. I read that book alone with the aid of a lamp whose illumination was very poor. I couldn't get up to move to the next room because everywhere was dark and no one was at home. Jeez!

  53. The Exorcist is my all time favourite horror movie. I also love The Shining. I watched a recent horror movie that was very interesting, 'The Autopsy of Jane Doe', it had an old school horror feel, wasn't bad.

  58. Stella! How can you be frightened by 'I know what you did last summer'? LMAO! That's Mickey Mouse compared with some hardcore horror movies. At least that was some psycho killer on the loose, what about when it has to do with demon possession, occult and witchcraft? Aren't those more scary? Personally, my favourite remains THE EXORCIST. That's a classic horror movie. Check these out:

    1. Insidious(1 and 2)‎
    2. Evil dead(1 and 2)‎
    3. Babadook.
    4. The Conjuring(1, 2 and 3)
    5. The Exorcist TV series(S1)
    6. Rosemary's baby (miniseries)
    7. Ouija (1 and 2)
    8. Pet cemetery (1 and 2)
    9. The witch.‎
    10. The Omen.‎
    11. The exorcism of Emily Rose.
    12. Get out.
    13. Don't breath.
    14. Let me in.
    15. The devil's backbone.
    16. Nina Forever.
    17. The grudge.
    18. Nightmare on Elm Street.
    19. Under the shadow.
    20. Drag me to hell.
    21. 10 Cloverfield lane.
    22. The others.‎
    23. ‎Let the right one in.
    24. The Forest.
    25. Intruders.
    26. The Purge.
    27. The boy.
    28. The other side of the door.

  59. I see nobody has watched the horror movie titled "The Thing 1982". It has a 2011 remake, which is child's play compared to the 1982 version. I watched it when I was 13years, I'm 46 now and it still remains the scariest horror movie I've ever seen. PLEASE WATCH IF YOU WISH TO REMAIN SHIT-SCARED FOR LIFE, PARTICULARLY IF YOU ENJOY GOING OUT AT NIGHT.

  61. Yay, my kind of postπŸ˜‚
Read all comments and only my girl, Pipi Lee mentioned the most scary and creepy movie - Silent Hill!
Pls don't watch this movie at night.
I'm a sucker for horror movies and I watch them at night. No fun watching stuff like that during the day. Here goes:
    1. Silent Hill
    2. Saw(all parts)
    3. Insidious (all parts) even the music/soundtrack is creepy.
    4. Koto Aye
    And the rest...

Someone typed above about exorcism movies and their effects...
You're so right. Real incantations, spells and demons are real in them movies.
By yourself, you'll invite demons into your life. It is what it is, but we can't help but like the thrill horror movies give us.

Insidious (I wonder why I haven't seen it)

Just out of curiosity tho, do you scream while watching? I do, but I know someone who doesn't move a muscle, like, wow!

    2. Scream ke? That's for babies.
You just get these goosebumps and the urge to check the room real quick or every now and then.
You almost jump out of your skin too when a scene you don't expect comes at you.

    3. There is something scarier than the Exorcism of Emily Rose?
