Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative....

Hmmmm...Nice one!

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
TOUGH TIMES DONT LAST......

I've been a bv of your blog for ages and I've read a lot of stories on marriages.

I will appreciate your posting this anonymously to encourage someone out there.Marriage is not easy because of the trials and tribulations and the work and patience involved. I want to tell my story to encourage couples out there passing through trying times that with God Almighty, all will definitely be well.

My 8th anniversary is coming soon and after gisting with a friend who's also a bv some days ago, God's wonders in my home dawned on me again.

I have 3 children and I've passed through difficult times. Periods of homelessness and squatting with others (my husband and I and our 3 children).

Periods of having nothing to eat, my husband's business being at a standstill we had to sell "everything" we owned.
But one thing we always had was love and the ability to laugh and dream despite the lack.

I even do giveaways sometimes because no where to put the things and nobody to buy it so na to give out.
There were times the food we have will not be enough for all of us and after our children eat, my husband will form he's not hungry so I won't feel guilty eating the little left. I'll form I'm not hungry too and we will end up sharing and be half full.

There were times my son won't be able to eat the mixture that I cook because he doesn't understand it. Lol

There were times I go into the toilet and I cry my heart out because this wasn't how we planned our family to be.

There were whole terms my children didn't go to school because we couldn't pay fees, buy snacks, and couldn't afford anything.

I always consoled myself with the song by mary mary :
"i just can't give up now,
I've come too far from where I started from,
nobody told me the road wont be easy but I don't believe He's (God) brought me this far to leave me"

I was recently able to start a small business and for me and my family, its a big deal.It was difficult getting start up capital which was not much after years of looking for loans and where else to get money from but God made it possible. And I know things will only get better henceforth.

Before I leave for my shop in the mornings, my daughter usually prays with me so that I'll make sales and God has been good.
I'm not nearly where I want to be but this is a very small first step for me and my family to encourage everyone passing through trying times in their homes/marriages that God always makes a way.

I couldn't have been able to hold up if not for God and the amazing man my husband is. He's been my greatest support and I could only bear the suffering we went through because of the love we have for each other.

*To even think that moments like this that you described have broken up couples who couldnt  stand it all..So happy for you and I hope any couple going through this will learn that tough times dont last, only tough people do!

  25. Thanks for sharing.
It amazes me when in this blog the "clique" that brag about wealth that they don't actually have puts that as the only thing that matters in a marriage.
I've read things like "love is not enough . .." and when I probe further, all they talk about is wealth. They forget that wealth springs wings and vanishes.
When this poster married, she might not be wealthy but they were comfortable. Somethings happened that they did not plan for.
That is the when one knows how faithful they are to each other.
I won't be surprised that that same clique will come to brag that "he' the husband will abandon her to seek other "fresher babes" once he has money. . .
Everybody isn't the same. Money cannot suffice for love. Love conquers all and when folks believe, they can achieve anything.

  26. A good lesson for "the marry him if he is rich" folks. One that is rich today may not be rich after marriage or through it.
Times of trials may come and that is when a man knows if he is married.

  28. Lesson:
Things are not always the way you plan it to be.
Be careful to marry someone you love and connect with, not someone who loves what they see around you.

  33. Awwwww poster I'm inspired by your story.Truly marriage is not a bed of roses! But one thing I know is that with focus,God,and love by the two persons involved, there is no way the marriage will not be full of blessings.

  44. Hmm.. This is really touching. Going through same face, but I know God will not bring me this far to abandon me. My husband came home in tears yesterday cuz I am sick and I told him I wanted Akara and Pap for breakfast. He went out and promised to get it on his way, when Okowa police held him and he had to give them, the last 2k on him, he was scared to come back to me. Lol... This is a man that has given me the best treat in my life, the man that makes me travel anywhere by flight, the man that paid my masters fees, so why cry cuz of Akara? I just laughed and I see sincere and true love in his eyes. No matter what I won't trade what we share for anything. I know we will soon be back to normal cuz he is not a lazy man. I just pray God touch the heart of his cousin that duped him of 15million to return the money.
    Life is not easy ooo

  50. Dear Poster,

    You will definitely laugh last

    Ps 126 v 1-3

It seemed like a dream, too good to be true,
    when God returned Zion’s exiles.
    We laughed, we sang,
we couldn’t believe our good fortune.
We were the talk of the nations—
    “God was wonderful to them!”
    God was wonderful to us;
    we are one happy people.

  51. Thanks for sharing this ma'am,I haven't been here for ages.Reading your chronicles has encouraged me. For four years I have been carrying 90% of my family's responsibilities. My husband lost his job and has been trying to get another job but it's not an easy task.In fact I haven't been through what you have been through but I understand that feeling of helplessness and being broke.Thankfully my stepbrother has been kind enough to give us shelter whilst we try to pay some bills here and there. God has been faithful and I am grateful even though I am not where I want but I don't beg to eat.
