Gov Obiano Says ''No hiding place for IPOB members in Anambra''

The Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, on Sunday said his government had aligned itself completely with the decisions of the South-East governors on the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

The governor, who spoke through a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Tony Nnacheta, said there would be no hiding place for mischief makers and anyone wishing to upset the peace in the state.

Obiano maintained that he would implement the decisions of the South-East governors to the letter in Anambra State.

The statement read in part, “Sequel to the decision of the South-East Governors’ Forum, which met on the 15th of September, 2017 in Enugu, where amongst other decisions, was the proscription of the activities of Indigenous People of Biafra, the Government of Anambra State wishes to state as follows:

“Government aligns itself with the clarion call from the South-East governors advising all persons with grievances and anxiety to transmit their position through prescribed channels of elected representatives to the forum.

“Government is also firmly in support of the restructuring agenda as announced by the governors’ forum and encourages Ndi Anambra to articulate their thoughts to follow through on this issue.”

It added, “The safety of Ndi Anambra and all residents in Anambra, the security of their lives, properties and environment are cardinal priorities of the Willie Obiano Administration, which has ensured that everyone goes about freely within our environment without let or hindrance.

“Government is determined to sustain this culture and our improved way of living and is therefore appreciative of the peaceful conduct and collaboration by all persons and agencies which has led to the acknowledgement of Anambra being the safest state in Nigeria”

He assured residents that there was no refuge or room for mischief makers and anyone, adding that security agencies had assured the government that there would be no infiltration by mischief makers.

    1. Why on Earth do you think the politicians will support Biafra? To them it's like pointing a gun to themselves.

  4. With statements like this & similar body language from all their leaders, how do they intend to actualise their Biafra?

Nnamdi Kanu hasn't been able to win any of the political leaders over or sell the idea to his own kinsmen who have the means to speed up the process, how then will he convince outsiders to support his bid?

They really have a long way to go o!

    1. My brother...the politicians would never want to be convinced. Cause they are part of all the woes bedeviling the country...with Biafra there would be less money in their pocket.

    2. @Elastic what less money ,so with Biafra they wont be politicians ,so the politicians arent igbos ,let them start first put things in order in every state in igbo land billions of allocation are given to every state ,so the igbo land allocations after is given to them ,Nigeria government now controls them, not to build good roads and hospital abi.My pains is just that poor people dying ,meanwhile oga is well protected

    3. Diva we are saying the same thing...allocations are being given to the politicians but the money stops at their personal bank accounts, with Biafra in place, there would be a limit to which the politicians can steal our money and that is why they won't support the Biafra.

  7. @Shirley - You are right. People that reside in Enugu are mostly civil servants and corporate workers. They are more civilized unlike in Anambra where you have business men dominated in Onitsha, Nnewi, Nkpor etc. But the major problem in Anambra is because of the business opportunities in the State, Nnamdi Kanu used Abakiliki guys (Okada riders etc) from Ebonyi State, residing in the State to constitute nuisance.

  9. Some gullible youths have lost their lives while their leader ran into hiding. I blame the followers more than Nnamdi Kanu himself. Is there that much desperation to believe in something that they fall for any semblance of a leader. Now where is he?
Those people on social media that have been so aggressive about IPOB like tigers are suddenly meek like sheep. Anybody that has a functional brain will not support Nnamdi Kanu. Even if he means well, his methods are crude and uncouth.
Well..."they" say Nnamdi Kanu is the voice of the illiterate igbos...
