Costs Of Making Hair Reportedly Increase Due To Prevailing Fuel Scarcity

Some hairstylists in Lagos have increased the cost of hairdos due to the prevailing fuel scarcity being experienced in the metropolis.

So how much was it before and how much is it now?Is it due to the fuel scarcity or due to the Festive period?

Whichever it is,the hair stylists will smile to the Banks, with your wallets leaner..lol

Ladies?

  3. I tried braiding yesterday and the guy was like "I don't like braiding even thou I do it well. I like fixing because it fast money and does not take long, anyways because you are my fine customer 'yimu' sit lemme do it for 5k"

    I screamed!

Uncu 5k for what na? My head is not big o. See, I wont shake. I don't want to stay under the AC... Come let's go outside! Walahi I like sun"

When he squeezed his face and started ranting about how cheap he charges.

I asked him to remove money for hot water... You know after braiding they press with hot water. And also if possible removing money for packing.

Would! I did the hair oo. I cannot goan comman die and kill my self. To think I spent close to 10k! Sweet Jesus, forgive me.😂😁

    1. Is it one million braids ni. Because normal sized braids here will cost u not more than 2k and it will be very nice.

    2. 10k??? 5k??? For braids??? Is it with 3-4 attachments???

      @Cookie 3 packs 1k each.

@Ekajoy 2k?! Where? Not one million braid. Normal braid. Well I think the fact that I'm on Natural hair made him inflate the price.braiding natural hair with attachment is quite tricky. He locked the base (those pry school koroba style done with rubber but he did mine with the attachment) to make it last longer coupled with the stress of re mosturing each part before braiding. My hair stubborn!

Well, he did a nice job and that's what matters.

      Becky 😁😂😁😁😂

Yeah I know I'm about to set myself up
I only wear wigs, weaves and never braid, but I just want something different and spicy

I saw one pink braid on Nicki Minaj and I'm gonna settle for it
Nicki's own is toe length, but I will go with the knee length maybe shorter

I don't know how much my hairstylist is going to charge o.

  10. Some Nigerian traders like using every excuse to increase their charges though some are reasonable due to the use of generators.

Thank God for wigs, I relax my hair myself so I can't be bothered jare.

  11. It has to be because of the festive period..

Where I make my hair don't increase their tariff whether "season" or not...
As for me,I'm not making any hair this Christmas..
I have got tons of different styles of wigs!...
I will be rocking each every day!...
The only thing that would take me to the salon is to braid a conrow, fix my fake eye lash and nails!...

Yours must be the detachable lashes!...

Mehn, this traffic is something else!...I might pack this car one place and enter okada!...

    5. @queeen buhahhha. Soooo me! 😂😂😂 infact on a good day, i would cornrow the hair myself, but since i would be in public let the weaving be neater 😁 I got a new wig two weeks ago and started rocking it yesterday.
I'm also doing semi permanent lashes and gel polish (cos i dont fix). And that's cos i have chief bridesmaid duties starting this weekend. Otherwise, i can cook a good storm in my bathroom. I style my wigs myself too. Straighter, curler, all the hair gbo-gbo and even mannequin dolls.
5k is normal braiding price in these parts sha. Since i fell in love with wigs over 2 years ago, I've become very hair savy.

  13. Even without the fuel scarcity, they would still increase their costs. It's the festive season.
Will fix mine during the weekend.

    1. Increasing their cost is even justified because of the fuel scarcity
I cannot go to a salon and heat will kee me

They put on the Gen and charge all together.

    2. Yeah of course.
I can't be in a sweaty salon and spend hours there.

  23. I'm new to lagos and don't know where to make my hair. It's so frustrating. Ordinary fixing in one of the salons I went to make enquiries from, the price starts from 4k .I live around berger.

  24. Nigerians take advantage of this season to increase things, abroad It's the otyer way round , sales and cheaper things, transportation to the east from lagos is very high now

  25. One saloon near the hub charges 4k for box braids, take it or leave it, fixing of hair 1500 to 2k, crochet 2k.

  27. My friend actually makes neat hair at affordable price. Ranging from fixing, didi, braids, all kinds of wig making with neat invisible parting and also styles hair. Sometimes I wonder how rich that girl would have been if she was in the abroad. She's so talented I swear. May be I should even send Stella a mail on her behalf, with her permission though. Abuja base...

  28. Making hair has never been cheap especially braiding. I rarely fix weavons or wigs, all I do is braid, braid and natural hair. My hair stylist didn't increase her price for braiding but increased the price of her attachment, weavons, hair accessories generally.

  29. I'm braiding tie tie next week.I cannot come and go and kee myself.

  30. Please who knows a good braiding place on the island that won't cost too much? All those Ghana high places have shut down

    1. Whats your definition of affordable? Get along agungi road. Also go down to Ajah, That road leading to cooperative villa. You would find. They have many hands and would finish the hair on time. Its not mainland cheap either but it won't be phase 1 prices. Oniru market too has some good hands but price depends on their mood. The day they dont have many customers they bill you more.
