    1. Well No patient has ever referred to me as a nurse buh yeah they 've asked for the "main doctor" but av always assumed it's because am young and they probably want an older and "more experienced" hand. What they don't know is that recent research has shown that older doctors have a higher mortality rate with their patients than younger ones

  3. lol so true, they just assume all females are Nurses and all males are Doctors so if you are at the ER with a male nurse they automatically assume he is the doctor and direct questions to him. I really don’t mind and we know nurses run the ish anyway. When they say no space, Na no space be that

  4. Never heard of this. Well there are hospitals and there are horsepitals. Put your name tag on your coats for easy identification. Whoever does this might not be enlightened or might just be plain ignorant.

If you like wear font 100 big old name tag , if you be woman you be nurse ni, meanwhile if you are a male nurse name doctor be your name. If they patient like you or respect you, they will add aunty to the name (aunty nurse) meanwhile you are a DOKINTA oo(female)

  5. So what's wrong with bn referred to as a Nurse? My friend go and yansh down with your egoistic self...
I've seen nurses that are better than doctors but they never brag about it.
No profession is greater than the other, so nobody should pull another person down to score a cheap point.

  8. The reason why female doctors are referred to as nurses and brilliant nurses are mistakenly called doctors is because the female gender is always seen as unequal and less. Finish!

  9. It's true. I've had people call me nurse, even after coming to the clinic and I am the one who treated them. Then they call the lab scientist doctor because he is a man. I just ignore them, calling me another name won't can be who I am. Plus when you come to the clinic, you'll know who is who when you are directed.

    1. Er is actually very common. As a dentist in a well known teaching hospital during my house job, the patient kept calling me nurse and when corrected was confused and was wondering if I’d be able to extract his tooth. All boils down to a cultural issue...ignorance!

  13. Very very true, i have worked both in Government and private hospitals and have experienced it quite a number of times. i always correct them sternly, NO I'm not a nurse! They seem not to see the ward coat, and Dr name tag. They always look shocked. 1 experience I remember vividly, she went ahead to argue with me sorry I'm not a nurse, call me Dr chy. px- but you be woman now, so you be nurse. me-I'm a Dr ma'am address me appropriately. px- looking at me suspiciously, no you be nurse, Abi you no be woman again, shouoo. Me- madam I just told you, I'm not a nurse, px- nurse and woman Dr all na the same, me- shook my head, walked away.

  14. It may be Ignorance, I am in a profession that is largely dominated by the male folk. I think some of the patients actually think that a female doctor is called a Nurse. Nurses are special but sincerely, doctors are still doctors. Shout out to all my Nigerian doctors who fight the brave fight... Shout out to all those in the health industry, caring for us and our loved ones.

  16. They will even call male medical students doctor and still maintain Aunty nurse for the female doctor. This happens in most government hospitals. Male nurses are also called doctors

  19. My darling hubby called this exceptionally brilliant, petite young Doctor nurse some days ago.... She fired back fast. I knew she was offended. I told hubby to meet with her later to apologize. Turns out shez way better than all the male doctors in the same hospital. Shout out to Dr. Eniola!!!
