Kidnapped Former Bayelsa Transport Commissioner Marie Ebikake Regains Freedom

A former Commissioner for Transport in Bayelsa, Marie Ebikake, abducted on Sunday has regained freedom. She was freed at about 3am on Friday.

The Bayelsa police spokesperson, Asinim Butswat, a deputy superintendent of police, confirmed the development in a telephone interview on Friday. He, however, said that he did not have details on the terms of how she regained her freedom.

Mrs. Ebikake was kidnapped at her residence in Igbogene area of Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state. The former commissioner, who hails from Brass Local Government Area, was also a former local government chairman in the area.

On the day she was kidnapped, a soldier was also abducted in a separate incident. The whereabouts of the soldier remains unknown.

  1. Thank you Jesus for bringing her home in peace.
    You are so wonderful

  2. Thank God, I've not gotten the full gist yet. But she said her abductors told her that they were paid to eliminate her but their mind no gree again. That they've been staying and observing her for two weeks in an uncompleted building near her house.
I wonder who wants her dead though, and I hope she retires from politics completely as she has been doing it for almost four decades.
May God continue to keep her safe.
