Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative....

Hmmmm.....

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
LOOKING FOR JESUS AND THE RIGHT CAREER PATH

Good day Mrs. Stella. I love your blog.

I've been following since 2013. I need you and blog visitors advice. I'm a 27 year old young lady. My life was not easy. I've been on my own since I was 17. I used to live with my uncle's family but then I couldn't bear the maltreatment and I left at 17. I did menial jobs to survive and wasn't able to get my high school diploma. I lived in a shelter for women for some months and I'm currently living on my own with 2 italian ladies.

We share the rent and other expenses and I got a job as a secretary in the hospital through some connections even though I don't have a diploma. God has been good to me. He always showed up every time I thought I couldn't go on or when I thought I didn't have any hope left. Now I'm planning to get my diploma since I have three years left. My problem is I always dreamed of becoming a doctor but by the time I get my diploma I'll be thirty years old and if I get into medical school, by the time I complete it I'll be 42.

Isn't that too long for me? I thought of becoming a nurse since it's also in the medical field and it only takes three years to get a nursing degree so I'll be 33/34 when I get my degree. Note that I'm not married so I pray to get married too so becoming a nurse will allow me to be independent earlier and not be a liability to my future husband and I'll also be able to have my little family. My problem is should I follow my dream to become a doctor and invest the next 12 years of my life or just forget it and become a nurse? Will I be happy with my job as a nurse or will I live in regret.

I have a roof over my head and food to eat, my salary is 1290 euros and I have savings of 5.000 euros for emergency. I know is not much but there was a time I almost ended up sleeping on benches on the street so I'm grateful for the little I have but now I want to focus on building a good future for myself. If I study medicine, for the next 15 years (3 years to get my diploma and 12 years of medical school) I won't be able to take care of my parents or have a personal life, my life will revolve around books and school and I won't be able to work while schooling.

My parents are not suffering, they own a shop and a school back home so maybe I can just focus on my dreams and not worry about taking care of them. On the other hand if I become a nurse, in 6 years I'm done( 3 years to get my diploma and 3 years of nursing school) and I'll be able to start working as a nurse and help my parents that are aging and with my salary open some businesses back home and here in Italy so that when I retire I'll have enough to live a decent life plus I'll have time to settle down with a good man.

Please Madam Stella I need your advice and that of blog visitors. What should I do? Study to become a nurse or a doctor?

Please I also need some advice from blog visitors, who have a strong relationship with God , on how to get closer to God. I want to be more closer to Him and live a godly life. I want to give my life to Christ and see changes in my life, I want to hear from the Holy Spirit. Any book or daily devotional to recommend?

Thank you so much for your time and God bless you.

*Go for the Nursing ....

    1. Poster, I will recommend growing up spiritually by Benn hinn for you. It's a very great book and it will definitely lead you on the right path. Please know that growing is a process and no matter how the devil tries to deceive you that God is not with you, they are just lies and schemes. Even in our ugliest, most sinful state, God still loves you immeasurable (how can he who spared not his own son withold anything from you), you can also follow churches online(instagram, app e.t.c)e.g glt, celebration church, mine. You can reach out to them and they would definitely get back to you, remember you can't do it on your own. There are times that you might just need to hear the right words from the right people and also debola deji kurumi(ddk, she is.... Terrifically fierce, on fire for God and bringing people to fellowship with God)on instagram, you can also get her most recent book (firebrand;reinginiting fellowship with God especially for women.) you will never remain the same after reading that book. As for what to study, you can take it to God in prayers and I'm too sure He will direct you on which path to choose.

VERY LONG BUT WORTH THE READ!

  2. First off the nursing idea to me is just perfect. Don't look at the age look at the future benefits. Look for a bible believing church in your base where they preach the word of God raw and undiluted from the scriptures. Even as you have decided to follow Jesus he has agreed to it. He would lead you and not forsake you.

  3. This one you are doing is opportunity cost. Look for economic book, it will tell you that you love Medicine but you have to forgo it for nursing whereas your mind is in Medicine.

You have been staying alone and God kept you, your parents did not die or ask how you have been doing and then you have the opportunity of being a Doctor which is very good, you want to settle for less with your explanations.

If you need God's answer, go to Him in Prayers between the hours of 1 to 3 a.m. and He will tell you the one that will make you the best.

If you know a church close to you, you can start by attending and also try and take up one or two things in the House of God to do. Dont be a spectator in the House of God when you decide to attend a church.

Get your Bible close to you but dont read it as Literature because that is what most people do. They dont get inspirations when they are with the Bible because it is just for reading sake and nothing else.

    Goodluck

    1. And nursing is settling for less? You probably 'settled for less' to reason this way

    2. you can do nursing first. after you are comfortable no one says you cant go into medicine after. you will have experience in the field and know many drugs and simple procedures. Also by that timne you will be married. if you marry a good caring guy he wont mind supporting you for the time in medical school, you can slo be doing shift work in the meantime. shift work that will help your studies. you wont be a burden as once you are a doctor you will make so much more. what do you think? thats what my sister did and it worked ok for her.

  4. Why all the long story? Abeg pack well. Go for nursing and rest, you cannot spend all your life trying to become a doctor, that is why doctors start on time so that before they are 30 they are already done and working. All the best dear

  5. Poster it is well with you
    Please go for nursing

You see why youths are leaving this country en masse? Graduates are paid 30k in Npower while poster is earning 1290 Euros. May GOD help us in this country...Amen

    1. Remember she has to pay house rent, buy food and pay her transport and other things, 1290 is also nothing if spent in Italy, not unless u wish to spend it in Nigeria.

      Delete
    2. 1290 is nothing if you live abroad and pay bills. It can barely sustain a single person. Didn't you ask yourself why she lives in a shared accommodation? Nigerian mentality!

    3. @Anonymous 15:36 and Nobi's mum, please can 30k pay rent and Bill's in Nigeria? Abroad mentality!

  7. For your career, the choice is yours, any of them is good, if you desire to be a doctor, it doesn't matter how long it takes, you can get married along the line, you don't have to finish before getting married, you meet your hubby along the line and get married.

    ReplyDelete
  8. nursing is also a good career path.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Don't go for either. Take one step at a time. Go get the diploma first and then while you're completing that think about whether you want to forgo medicine. Right now this decision is premature. You've not even tested your brain recently to see if you'd be interested in completing more school.

  10. Nursing seems the easier option but then it all depends on you. Search your heart thoroughly and know what you really want and what is best for you. As for giving your life it is as simple as kneeling in your room and asking Him to forgive your sins, and make you a new person in Him and He will do so for He has promised that as many that come to Him He shall in no wise cast out. He will hear you and give you peace. Get a bible and start reading from the gospel of John asking the Holy Spirit for help, then look for a bible believing church to attend where the new birth will be explained more to you. God bless you as you embark on this journey of life in Christ Amen.

  11. Yeye network, so I typed And then it just disappeared.
Poster, go for nursing and you won't regret you did.
However, if you wouldn't mind studying till your mid to late 40s(Residency included) then you can opt for medicine.
I strongly believe you should just stick with nursing. Life is too short to spend a large chunk of your adult life slaving away in the library. Good luck from here

  12. I was like, if this lady is in Nigeria with €1000+ salary without a university degree, then I'm suing my entire school circle. What!!

More reasons people troop to Europe. Most Nigerian CEOs don't smell that amount as salary.

OH, I'm in Africa, I'm accepting the reality.

However, poster, go for what you dearly like. Age is just a number. You wouldn't be fulfilled with Nurse. Go for Medical doctor since you're financially buoyant.

Rent 800, electricity 100, gas 100. Bus pass depending where your work...82 euros, Food 300 euros, internet 30 euros, water 40 euros. Imagine if u have kids, How are u going to save? I didn't even add the food u eat at work, and the small small things u need for yourself

  13. my first time commenting and i've been reading this blog for years, but I feel compelled to. Acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and He will direct your paths - proverbs 3:6. With your career decision - I will encourage you to pray about it and go with the decision that gives you the most peace, please dont go by 'what appears to make sense'.
I believe God will direct and lift you as you acknowledge Him.
As for devotionals - open heavens is my go to but there are lesser known ones which are blessed. Try our daily bread - available online.
I believe God will draw you close as you move close to Him, He has already started working in your heart and that's why you even have the desire to know Him and live a godly life. I pray He helps you and blesses you in this walk.

  14. As humans we would advice based on our perceptions and we think is the best but your heavenly father knows what's best for you and He is the one who created you so ask Him and He would show you which path to choose. One thing am certain about is that the career path He want for you would lead you to greatness and not mediocrity. Read "good morning holyspirit by bennyhinn" in the night and call upon the holyspirit He would "literally" visit you and help you in whatever godly thing you ask Him to do for you and He would have fellowship with you and bring you closer to the father and son in ways you never can even imagine. Am speaking from experience before reading that I never really knew Him until I read that book I prayed and told Him I wanted to encounter Him and He came to the room.

  16. About moving closer to God, I would have adviced u on churches u might attend, but men of God and churhes are not to be trusted.
Get a bible, thank God for being with you thru all u have been thru and den from the depth of depth of ur heart ask God to forgive ur sins. U can mention any specific ones u remember. Also ask Jesus to come into ur heart and make you a new creature.
After this, u can den ask d holy spirit to help you and lead u as you study the bible. I advice you go to the new testament and start from the book of John. Start from chapter one. Make your mind blank and digest the words you read well avoid distraction. You will understand the bible more that way. After this, pray that the Holy Spirit guide you to a good bible believing church. It may be hard to follow all the teaching in that church, but ur life will be better for it. It is well.

  19. There's dreams and reality! In 12 years time, you want to start life as a junior doctor. Your reasoning is because you think a doctor is superior to a nurse. I would like to be a zoologist but I work as IT analyst and I enjoy it because a career is not all the fulfilment you need in the world. There's good health, holidays, family, savings. At your age, accept reality - there's more to life than being a doctor. Have you thought of how you will cope when you have a husband and children. Think ahead and think smart!

  20. Nursing will be a better decision to make. Good luck!

  21. Dear poster, my heart really goes out to you. I love it when young people think like this. I can see your interest is in the health profession. Medicine is a life calling and the demands of the profession are great. You will have to keep reading. It won't be easy to balance it out with a home when the time comes. Besides medical studies anywhere is very expensive. I dont know of you have thought of the fees. I would rather advise you to settle for nursing. It is still financially rewarding too. You may eventually go in for midwifery which will give you satisfaction. Your thirst for God is beautiful. He is just a prayer away. There's no special ceremony in giving your life to Christ. Just pray and do it! Then find a real bible believing church to attend - it does help to keep you focused. Pray everyday. Read your Bible. And fellowship with people of like mind. God will direct you.

  22. Use the devotional book called the 'daily strength' and 'Amen it is done'. Two beautiful books.

  23. I am so proud of you. Any path you choose will be a success for you. If your dream has always been to be a doctor, then reach for that. If it is not feasible, then strive to be a nursing practitioner, it's like being a doctor, you write prescription and do diagnosis, the only thing is that you don't have the title of being a doctor. If you choose the nursing, then aim for a final title of nursing practitioner. Like I said, you will be a success whatever you choose to do. Follow up with the blog in a few years and let us know how it all turned out for you.

  24. Wherever you are, Jesus is there. You need to sincerely pour your heart before Him and I assure you He will hear you and also respond.
The number one book I would recommend for you is the Holy Bible. As you prayerfully study the Bible, God will guide and lead you through the right path.

You can download YouVersion Bible App from the play store. It also has some devotional books you can read.

    God bless you!

  27. Dear Poster, I can't give you advice regarding the first part of your chronicle but I can give you good advice on how to get closer to God which will help you with the first part. First, I commend you for nursing this desire, your heart is truly in the right place. It shows that God is calling you and you are willing to respond to His call. I give this advice based on the assumption that you are already baptised and believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross. The foundation is faith. The word of God says that all who seek Him must believe that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him diligently. So you must continue to SEEK God DILIGENTLY! Not today and then you quit tomorrow. One surefire way to know God which no christian (baby or matured) cannot do without is THE WORD! The Holy Bible. Begin to Read and study it daily or at least consistently. Christian books and sermons and teachings are awesome but they can never substitute God's word. As you begin to read, also MEDITATE on it. Ponder it. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding each time even before you open it. I cannot tell you the amazing things that'll begin to happen to you when you start. More knowledge, inspiration, understanding, transformation and even revelation which you desperately need at this point in your life. You can use a devotional but what I did was I started all the way from the beginning; Genesis and worked my way down. God has been manifesting Himself to me ever since I began. It is an awesome experience. You'll see that you'll begin to have more desire for prayer, worship and more hunger for His word and less desire for sin. Also develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit. SURRENDER everything about your life to Him and ask Him to lead, guide, inspire, teach and direct you. It is as simple as saying "Dear Holy Spirit, Please help me". The more you do that, the more you'll hear His voice because God has promised us in His word in Isaiah 30: 21 - If you wander off the road to the right or the left, you will hear his voice behind you saying, “Here is the road. Follow it". We as believers have to train our spirits to discern God's voice. It is a process sometimes. That's why many of us pray sometimes and it seems like we don't hear from God but He speaks! Pray with these Bible verses about direction (Psalm 32:8, Proverbs 3:5, Psalm 37:23, James 1:5, Jeremiah 29:11. Also pray the entire Psalm 25 daily and ask God to show you His will concerning your vocation. I have so many things to tell you that I am short of energy to type. As for books, I will recommend 'Knowing God Intimately' by Joyce Meyer. It is amazing and can serve as a devotional for you. I pray for you that God will fulfill His purpose in your life. Goodluck

    2. Poster, read and digest what Dre has written, it is the best for you. Don’t chose your profession before developing a relationship with God, it’s like putting the cart before the horse. So seek God first, as adviced by Dre, and then the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth will guide you into what to do. You’ll be shocked that it may not even be medicine or nursing, just let Him lead you. Bible is the first book I recommend, get a simple version like NIV or The Amplified Bible. You can also read this Christian book, ‘SENSITIVITY OF THE SPIRIT: Learning to stay in the flow of God’s Direction’ by R.T KENDALL.

Also don’t neglect the fellowship of the brethren, so ask God to lead you to a church or fellowship where his presence dwells. In the meantime, you can listen to sermons on YouTube, Charles Stanley’s sermons are very impactful. God bless you.

Stella, this is one of the many reasons I love your blog. So mature.

When you begin a walk in the Spirit, allow God to lead you in your career path. God is interested
in every aspect of our lives.

The book, "Strong Meat -mature teachings of Christ" helped me to draw closer to God.
    It is on amazon bookstore.
    Good wishes.
