UPDATE:Father Of Twins Found Dead In A Fridge Does Not Want Police To Investigate.

The couple whose twin boys were found dead in a deep freezer in their house on Saturday in Egbu , Otolo Nnewi of Anambra State, have said they do not want the matter to be made a Police case.

The parents of the twins, Mr. and Mrs. Nwachukwu Onwe, from Ebonyi State, have taken their late children, Peter and Paul, for burial in their home town.

A source close to the family who pleaded anonymity said, “The whole thing is confusing. The man and the wife said they wouldn’t want to make the matter a Police case.

“They have taken their children for burial in Isiagu, Ebonyi State. They rejected our advice for autopsy. We are confused.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the story .

He said, “The father of the children is not helping matters. He said he would not want to make the matter a Police case. He has asked the Police to release his children to him for burial.”

Asked whether that would be the end of investigation, the PPRO said, “ No;” affirming that investigation would continue while assuring that the perpetrators would be brought to book .

Peter and Paul were reportedly found lifeless in an abandoned deep freezer in their apartment on Saturday. The situation confounded members of the community, as they suspected ritual killing.

It was gathered that the deceased children, aged six, had returned to their mother’s shop after school on Friday before their mum instructed them to go home and change their clothes before coming back to the shop for their lunch, but they did not return.

A family source said, “The mother became worried after waiting for a while for them to come back as instructed, and quickly rushed home to find out what might have kept them back But to her surprise, she didn’t see any of them at home.”

“The man and his wife, together with some of us, started going from house to house, asking if anybody knew about the children’s whereabouts, but all efforts were to no avail. It was the following morning that the lifeless bodies of the twins were found inside an abandoned freezer.”

*I smell in house foul play..It is not in their power to dictate whether the case should be opened or closed.
In fact they should be the first suspect until they can prove their innocence. The Police must investigate this case and bring the culprits to face time for their crime....

  6. And people were arguing the kids could have entered the fridge and close themselves inside. Like what's the sense of hide and seek if the only 2 people at home who decide to play hide and seek enter the freezer together? Shouldn't it be one person hiding in the freezer and one seeking?

Rip to them. This is a sad. I hope they killer is found. I hope its not the father 😭. Because I don't understand wanting to close the case

    1. Is hide and seek the only game kids play? Isn't curiosity enough to make them want to enter d fridge?

      Delete
    2. Curiosity for 6yrs old kids? Kids that they could send home from without anyone? They have passed that stage of wanting to know what can happen if they go into the freezer at that age. That's something a 3 or 4yrs old will do

    3. So kids from the neighborhood cannot join them in the hide and seek game abi? They might even join them on their way home too.

    4. No one knows what happened, so no one can be really sure as to what happened (except the culprit(s)). It could have been anything. Until the mystery is revealed, we can only speculate. That is why crime scene investigation is so important. Even the way they were positioned in the freezer when found would say a lot.

    1. The parents are not free. Their hands are not clean. Even if they refuse police involvement, the community should watch them closely. How will you lose your child 'mysteriously' and not want to know the cause of death? Unless ofcourse, the parents know something we don't know.

This is terrible. Those poor kids don't deserve this.

I presume by 'agwa ndi Hausa', you mean they are not exposed.
Please evaluate yourself, in light of this utterly foolish and myopic comment ☝🏾️and

      2. Plot a graph depicting the degree of your blind devotion to ridiculous stereotypical ideologies.

  10. People grieve in different ways. It's possible that they're actually innocent and just want to quickly get over the death of their kids.
Police case in Nigeria is a useless venture. I got someone arrested for stealing from my warehouse, a villager and the following morning, police
called the manager that they needed money for feeding the criminal.
The family might feel that the investigation cannot bring back the dead children so no need to go through the harrowing experiencr.

  32. The parents have no hand in their death, they just don't want to involve the police in the matter cos it will be a waste of time an money (once bribed the culprit will be released) instead,i am sure they will seek spiritual help to kill the culprit instantly.
