The couple whose twin boys were found dead in a deep freezer in their house on Saturday in Egbu , Otolo Nnewi of Anambra State, have said they do not want the matter to be made a Police case.
The parents of the twins, Mr. and Mrs. Nwachukwu Onwe, from Ebonyi State, have taken their late children, Peter and Paul, for burial in their home town.
A source close to the family who pleaded anonymity said, “The whole thing is confusing. The man and the wife said they wouldn’t want to make the matter a Police case.
“They have taken their children for burial in Isiagu, Ebonyi State. They rejected our advice for autopsy. We are confused.”
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the story .
He said, “The father of the children is not helping matters. He said he would not want to make the matter a Police case. He has asked the Police to release his children to him for burial.”
Asked whether that would be the end of investigation, the PPRO said, “ No;” affirming that investigation would continue while assuring that the perpetrators would be brought to book .
Peter and Paul were reportedly found lifeless in an abandoned deep freezer in their apartment on Saturday. The situation confounded members of the community, as they suspected ritual killing.
It was gathered that the deceased children, aged six, had returned to their mother’s shop after school on Friday before their mum instructed them to go home and change their clothes before coming back to the shop for their lunch, but they did not return.
A family source said, “The mother became worried after waiting for a while for them to come back as instructed, and quickly rushed home to find out what might have kept them back But to her surprise, she didn’t see any of them at home.”
“The man and his wife, together with some of us, started going from house to house, asking if anybody knew about the children’s whereabouts, but all efforts were to no avail. It was the following morning that the lifeless bodies of the twins were found inside an abandoned freezer.”

*I smell in house foul play..It is not in their power to dictate whether the case should be opened or closed.
In fact they should be the first suspect until they can prove their innocence. The Police must investigate this case and bring the culprits to face time for their crime....
You gatta be kidding me. He should be the number one suspect.
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteTrust nobody, this life is too delicate, this life na wah (in eternal Johnson's voice)
DeleteOro di hun
ReplyDeleteMe I have stoped feeling pity for some people’s predicament these days!...
ReplyDeleteSome of them are karma!!...
Lol Lili i thought you said karma doesn't exist
DeleteI knew this issue get leg but some people dey make comment say may be MA the twin dem lock dia sef dia
ReplyDeleteMc pinky
Those boys were too old for that kind of mistake. Once I saw their pictures, I knew there was foul play.
DeleteI understand, dem wan involve one shrine of amadioha. Dem wan kill the ppl responsible wit juju.
ReplyDeleteIs police releasing money for autopsy?
DeleteSomething is fishy here, hnmmm
ReplyDeleteAnd people were arguing the kids could have entered the fridge and close themselves inside. Like what's the sense of hide and seek if the only 2 people at home who decide to play hide and seek enter the freezer together? Shouldn't it be one person hiding in the freezer and one seeking?
ReplyDeleteRip to them. This is a sad. I hope they killer is found. I hope its not the father 😭. Because I don't understand wanting to close the case
Is hide and seek the only game kids play? Isn't curiosity enough to make them want to enter d fridge?
DeleteCuriosity for 6yrs old kids? Kids that they could send home from without anyone? They have passed that stage of wanting to know what can happen if they go into the freezer at that age. That's something a 3 or 4yrs old will do
DeleteSo kids from the neighborhood cannot join them in the hide and seek game abi? They might even join them on their way home too.
DeleteNo one knows what happened, so no one can be really sure as to what happened (except the culprit(s)). It could have been anything. Until the mystery is revealed, we can only speculate. That is why crime scene investigation is so important. Even the way they were positioned in the freezer when found would say a lot.
DeleteHmmmmmm!!!!!
ReplyDeleteRitual killing?
They are from ngbo not isiagu please
Ngbo is in ohaukwu LGA,that's my village
The parents are not free. Their hands are not clean. Even if they refuse police involvement, the community should watch them closely. How will you lose your child 'mysteriously' and not want to know the cause of death? Unless ofcourse, the parents know something we don't know.
DeleteThis is terrible. Those poor kids don't deserve this.
They are not from Nnewi, they are from Ebonyi state.
DeleteThe parents might have used them for money ritual 😎😎😎😎
ReplyDeleteMay God have mercy on you.. Once Una madam don make comment for her post, the rest of you will follow..
DeleteStella they fit dey innocent but trust Abakaliki people, person go don advice them unto say police matter go cost them. Ndi Abakaliki na akpa agwa ka ndi Hausa. RIP boys
ReplyDeleteHmmmm,@ fan Emmanuel
DeleteChoi! Sis Amanda forgive me oooo
DeleteThat's how you people display ignorance up and down. What was written up there is Isiagu, you are here jawing about Abakaliki and Abakaliki people.
DeleteI presume by 'agwa ndi Hausa', you mean they are not exposed.
Please evaluate yourself, in light of this utterly foolish and myopic comment ☝🏾️and
1. Calcute your percentage uninformedness
2. Plot a graph depicting the degree of your blind devotion to ridiculous stereotypical ideologies.
N.B- I am not from Abakaliki and I am not from Isiagu.
People grieve in different ways. It's possible that they're actually innocent and just want to quickly get over the death of their kids.
ReplyDeletePolice case in Nigeria is a useless venture. I got someone arrested for stealing from my warehouse, a villager and the following morning, police
called the manager that they needed money for feeding the criminal.
The family might feel that the investigation cannot bring back the dead children so no need to go through the harrowing experiencr.
"he following morning, police
Deletecalled the manager that they needed money for feeding the criminal" 😅😅....is he their criminal? they cannot come n be feeding your criminal nah
Na waoo! What is really wrong with our police force!? This is getting out of hands.
DeleteLol@money to feed criminal
DeleteNa wa o! Someone mentioned in the initial post that the parents should be the first suspect. The government should take over the case immediately, something is just not right! This one don turn crime story on Channel 168.
ReplyDeleteChannel 171
Deletesomething is fishy..
ReplyDeleteSomething fishy is smelling...
ReplyDeleteMoney ritual things.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, update us when the man money start to come
Lol 😀😁😁
DeleteAbeg oh, my hand no dey this one
Maybe the parents wants to go about it in the traditional way! Sending the spirits of the late twins to revenge! I think!
ReplyDeleteThey probably want to get over their grief as fast as possible,
ReplyDeleteonly the fridge knows the truth about what happened, may their souls rest in peace
May be through going diabolical or the man's hand is not clean.
ReplyDeleteRIP Peter and Paul
That means they know who killed their sons or maybe the husband is responsible for the dead and he said the wife should keep quiet. It is possible.
ReplyDeleteThey might have been threatened
ReplyDeleteBaffles me why no one opened s frewzwe till morning, didn't they eat? Or just check freezer for food? How come everyone avoided freezer till d following day? Anyway, traditional investigation to take over.
ReplyDeleteAbandoned freezer ma'am
DeleteOlodo/oversabi..abandoned freezer
DeleteIs that why you are calling her olodo@anon
DeleteHmmmm.... Even if the parents wants to handle it spiritually, they should let the right authorities do their job also. If not, they would be the main suspects.
ReplyDeleteI had a hunch about the parent the 1st day the News broke. They should be questioned
ReplyDeleteThe have used the children for rituals and this is the fact.
ReplyDeletePeople grieve in different ways, maybe the parents can't bear the way the news has gone round,it's really hard with lots of People talking about this incident, and lots of speculations coming up,could be they want to avenge the death of their children spiritually by going diabolical of the murderer.Aside from all these,Nigerian police could be a reason they made this decision, and i will talking from personal experience now,i had a cpusin who was living with us that got hit by a car,he died immediately,People were able to hold the driver down from excaping, the police were involved, you won't believe the police turned us to meal ticket asking for morning everyday we went to the station, these was no case here oo,we had witnesses, the driver accepted he was at fault, later he bribed the police and they came up with stories that it was my dead cousin that was at fault using his phone on the road and wasn't on the looking out for the car, they police even tried to make us sign a statement that we will never contact the driver that killed out cousin again, they refused us even having a face to face talking with him.we decided to leave they to God,when all the came today came tomorrow issue got too much and decided we didn't want any case no more, guess what they came up with again, they decided they won't release the body to us to go and bury, they wanted money and we were paying money daily at the mortuary as well,Imagine griefing and yet getting frustrated by Nigerian police as well,it was just all too much.when we eventually got the body, all we wanted was to get on with it,the wife of the driver later looked for us and tried to offer us money but we rejected it,we didn't need the money,we only wanted justice and the police did nothing to help.so i won't judge this People just yet because we dont really know why they made this decision.Stella its like you have forgotten naija so quick, this country that nothing works

ReplyDeleteSomething is wrong somewhere
ReplyDeletewell I think they want to fight the killer spiritually may their soul rest in peace
ReplyDeleteIt's the poor soul's I felt pity for...
ReplyDeleteSomething dikwa wrong somewhere
ReplyDeleteRip to the twins..
Their killers will never have rest because Twins have strong spirit..
May their souls rest in peace. What if their father did a secret DNA and found out that the children are not his? What if??.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they don't have power for police bring today, bring tomorrow. Rip twins
ReplyDeleteThe parents have no hand in their death, they just don't want to involve the police in the matter cos it will be a waste of time an money (once bribed the culprit will be released) instead,i am sure they will seek spiritual help to kill the culprit instantly.
