The State Government, in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Taiwo Salaam, said the decision to reopen the bridge earlier than announced followed the completion of the test by engineers.
The government also thanked motorists and residents for their cooperation and patience while the closure lasted.
The State Government, in partnership with the Federal Government, had temporarily shut the bridge for the Investigative Maintenance Test with the closure initially scheduled to last from midnight of last Thursday to midnight of Sunday.
From punch.
*The govt needs to think about building alternative routes or developing the ones already there...The closure of the third mainland bridge shut down businesses for some firms and some people could not reach their workplace.
My Yori'm can now go to work quickly and stress free lolzx. Nice they kept to the time they said but effort should as well be placed on reducing those heavy traffic on Lagos routes.
ReplyDeleteThe government needs to repair the existing ones. Oyingbo to island the road is bad I mean very huge pothole before ascending the bridge. And those abandoned vehicle on the road should be tolled.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I keep having this feeling that they went to do rituals on that bridge and that if care is not taken, there will be casualties there soon. Jesus! Which kind bad thought be dis sef? God forbid. Blood of Jesus wash my mind!
ReplyDeleteAt least you guys should give them credit for doing this and beating the time they gave for it to be done. It is not as if it is only in Nigeria such thing happens. Even in developed Canada and the US, it happens during days of constructions in the summer.
