We have been trying to conceive for few years now, although we have a son and my husband has refused to see a gynea, he said he doesnt have any problem and he is sure I dont have too. He said he is OK with our son if thats the only child we will have. Although we planned on having 2 kids before marriage and my husband is over 40yrs but this man isn;t even bothered about any other child. RANT OF A BV WITH SICKLE CELL
Good day Stella,
I'm an SS lady in my late 30's, married with 2 kids. Before i got married my hubby did his Genotype he was AA. Though, he told me he was AA cuz he did it in school and a friend of his did it for him when he was sick, but i still insisted he do it again and he was AA, but few months when i had my 2nd kid she was always failing sick and later find out that she's SS, i was shattered, i cried and I'm still depressed.
I'm an SS lady in my late 30's, married with 2 kids. Before i got married my hubby did his Genotype he was AA. Though, he told me he was AA cuz he did it in school and a friend of his did it for him when he was sick, but i still insisted he do it again and he was AA, but few months when i had my 2nd kid she was always failing sick and later find out that she's SS, i was shattered, i cried and I'm still depressed.
Later my hubby did his Genotype again find out that he is AS. God why me? When i was in school i had suitors who were AS, who proposed marriage to me but i dare not accept their proposal cuz i had attend sickle cell clinic in LUTH and nurses warning to us then was don't marry SS. I was very careful cuz i would not allow my children go through what i went through in life.
Before our wedding me and hubby had several prayer and fasting separately and together carrying God along in the journey of marriage. I serve God, was a worker in my church irrespective of my condition and God was my partner and friend was happy i got to know God. I had crisis and the one i fear most was leg ulcer, it takes like a year to heal, Stella it was horrible experience.
Now i found out that my innocent princess was SS, i almost run mad, have cried and cried and cried. In short, tears is even crying for me. My daughter has received blood transfusion 5 different times. She is 1 year plus. Like every 3 months, whenever another 3 months after blood transfusion is coming I'm always scared. She's very beautiful and brilliant but can't work due to her recurrent crisis. So my daughter will go through what I'm going through in life. God why me.
Whenever, she is admitted, i will also fail sick cuz i spent weeks in the hospital with her, seated on a seat and mosquitoes bite. I don't fail sick before but know I'm always failing sick due to the stress.
Lost my job due to me and my daughter's recurrent sickness, have spent all my business money on sickness cuz hubby is out of job (story for another day).
I'm currently in the hospital having my worst nightmare leg ulcer. Hospital is know my second home.
Stella, where did i get it wrong, why had God forsaken me cuz i carried him along, did the right thing. We have lots of people getting pregnant without praying or doing genotype before marrying and are having healthy kids. If i had found out that my hubby was AS a day to my wedding i will call it quit cuz i am a sickler and i know the pain been a sickler. I never believe i will go through this path.
When am i going to get out of this long dark tunnel. Nothing gives me joy, just miserable and sad. Have thought of suicide but if i die I'll go to hell. Why is my life like this? Since day one of my life, have been battling sickness now my innocent daughter. No peace for once. I'm a good person, i do or think evil.
Oh my daughter I'm sorry, i never knew it will be like this. Not here to beg, all i need is a shoulder to lean on, the right word that will heal my broken heart.
*This is really sad and i dont know what to say...I pray that God meets you at the point of your need and heals you and i hope your rant opens the eyes of someone to walk away from anyone who will bring them such pains...
Please do not make anymore babies with this man...PLEASE!!!!

Those who know how I started here can attest how good I have improved in my writings and tenses, though not perfect yet but great changes was achieved. So keep reminding me of my errors means nothing to me neither does it is seems to be something new here.
Let me correct an impression this minutes. I never asked for compensation or requested to be given an award here for my popularity here. I have no knowledge of Sky to have said that yesterday. Let it be known this day, that I am not here for monetary gain or benefits but to improve myself with knowledge and get entertained.
I have never for once insulted anyone here or troll negatively, I stand to be corrected with proof if there is any. Most of the times I reacted and responded to my call out, I did that in civility without insults. Remember in every action, there is an equal and opposite reactions says the physist.
Anyone who feels I have done bad to them here, I am opening a medium for you to speak now and point it out boldly so I can apologize and make an amend. If there is anything you think I am not doing right, I beg you to speak now.
We didn't leave our various hustle sometimes to be here just to drag anyone down. SDK responded that I haven't stay up to a year to merit such. She went further to talked about Martins staying up to three years, then the next day Martins was decorated on the blog. Truth be told, I never read any where SDK promise an award of popularity to me, unless I didn't read the comment that day. All she said was that I haven't stay long to deserve such entitlement, implying that the possibility depend on the duration of time I stay on the blog.

The opposite, Some said "this one has come for Stella's December giveaway, and when I tried proving the person wrong, another said I should shut tfu as if I stole his/her birthright, another towncrier was even shouting my name up and down, I never got a positive comment which broke me and made me withdraw from the comment section, I only just read and go about my work.

So I've recently decided to start having time for it cos frankly, I love seeing those with long hair packing their natural relaxed hair in different styles especially after 'setting' it.
Firstly, I have decided to reduce the rate at which I retouch. I'm trying to see if I can limit it to at least 4 times a year.
I recently read here about how rice water helps hair grow. Please, what's the procedure for using this method. How soon will I see results.
Do I use it before or after retouching my hair??? You people should help me oh. I need my hair perfect before my wedding.

I've seen some teachers work pupils out of their classes for lack of textbooks. Just today one teacher sent a child out of the class cos she didn't have a counting jotter and she was tired of telling the mum to get for her and tearing papers for her. I had to plead on her behalf and promised she'd learnt her lesson.
Every teacher has her own method. If u want the best for ur child, just try and comply as much as possible with the school

It's very ok to rant to God , he alone understands your hurt and anger. You have to be strong for your daughter the way your mom was strong for you. This is not the time to be weak, remember you have dealt Tru worse days.
Try and get a job , ask your mom to come take of your kids in your house, that way when your baby is sick she can watch her while you work and still support the family .You also have another child that needs your attention so you have to be there for that child .
Start home management for your daughter (keep her warm, give her folic acid, give her astymin to boost her appetite so she can eat no matter how little, try offering her little ugwu juice dilute it with orange juice or milk. Give her lots of water so she can stay hydrated, dilute d water with little apple juice that way the water is sweet to drink.
It's ok to ask Bv for jobs for you and your husband, you both need it because you know how crazy scD drains one financially!
Lastly, it's ok to cry on super hard days , tears where made to wipe hurt away! Let the tears flow and make you stronger not weaker!

I pray the Nigerian Government realises that soon and treats it as such, so little innocent ones don't have to go through all this pain just because they are born into the wrong environment.
