  1. It doesn't matter how small you start, just give it a start.

I often say this to people, there is nothing wrong shifting ground but if you must compromise, settle for a better deal. Don't go for a temporary gain that will leave you devastated and eventually ruin your life.

Happy Monday and a blessed new week to you all.

I'm proud of my hustle, even though I'm not perfect & make mistake sometimes, but I still strive to be better as I'm still learning & I know God will make it big for me soon.
May God bless our respective hustles. It shall definately end in praise. Good morning all.

  2. Story Story!!
Once upon a time in a small village called ukpoma in edon state lived a fat insecured little boy named Ken.

Ken is a typical fat boy whose only hobby is nothing else but food. He could tell every food prepared in the village just by the scent, his obsession for food soon got him a nick name 'Fool for food'.

Inspite of his love for food he was a lazy and weak lad which made other kids of his age bullied him mercilessly; as a result of his insecurity, he dropped out of school and couldn't further his education anymore. His dad who was a famous village hunter decided to send him to the city of Lagos to learn a trade under Mr Lucky, a successful business man from the neighboring village who is based in Lagos with his wife and two little kids.

He entered into agreement to serve Mr Lucky as one of his sales boys in his Cement shop for a period of 3years to master the act of cement business, and Mr Lucky on his own part was expected to settle and establish him after the expiration of the 3years but something happened after two years. Ken was caught sniffing the pant of his Oga's wife, this infuriated Mr Lucky hence he sent him out of his house. The shame and embarrassment caused by his action couldn't let him go back to village so he started sleeping with married women for survival.

Rumour has it that one of the married women he is sleeping with set up a small food business and ask him to manage it as long as he continue 'washing her plate'. I spoke with Festus Osamudia who served Mr Lucky too and currently owns a cement shop, whom Ken is sharing a room self contained in Ikeja and he confirmed to me that Ken's escapades with married women has affected him mentally and spiritually, and it's only a matter of time before he will be caught and disgraced.

This is a true life story but names and places used has nothing to do with the story...watch out for this space as we unfolds more of his escapades....

Pls can introduction be done on behalf of both parties, our parents are in the same town but its very far from where we work and live, we want our parent to do the introduction on our behalf, my parent already knows my fiance very well but due to some things we both can't go down to the town now. He wants his parent to visit my parent and introduce their families, collect the list of things for tradition wedding and we both will agree on date for the wedding and others. Pls can it be done that way?

  15. SATURDAY IN HOUSE GIST RESULT

    Monday morning greetings to everyone

The last Saturday in house gist was captioned "The day I will never forget in my Life".
Many bvs participated and churned out interesting gists, too many that I can't list them all.

For the sake of new bvs who may not know our rules, let me explain it here.

The winning gist is expected to be funny, well written, posted with a valid blog Id on the day of the post and lastly, carries the highest number of valid votes.

Valid blog ids are google blog ids.

Votes are replies in favour of a gist.

These votes are valid when they are posted with valid blog ids, on the day of the post.
Note: Any vote made after 11:59pm or posted with a URL/anonymous is not valid.

In view of the above, the winner of Saturday in house gist is Bv Heiress Fitables. Her gist "E bami pe Pasito" met all conditions for winning.

    3. Apart from pap,you can also make watery semo and add any baby formula of your choice. You can also add parboiled blended fruit too,so so yummy

      Delete
    4. Buy yellow corn, Guinea corn and millet in equal portions. Pick/clean then soak in water for 48 hours. Remember to change the water every day. Take to the mill. Have them grind it like 3/4 times then use any chiffon material or buy the pap sieving cloth sold in the market. Tie the chiffon round a basin, scoop two handfuls of milled pad onto the cloth, pour water slowly while mixing the pap and water in gentle circular motions until all the cream is gone and you can only see dry chaff. Leave the residue to rest overnight then tip off the excess water. You can further dry the pap by compressing in a pap bag overnight or just scoop into plates and store in the freezer. Make sure you give enough milk with the pap. I have been giving my son homemade pap since he was 5 months. He is 2 now and still takes pap as breakfast. Its very nutritious and aids weight gain. Be careful with adding crayfish and groundnut or tigernuts as some babies are allergic to them.

    5. HOW TO PREPARE PAP/AKAM/OGI AT HOME

      1) Buy a paint of maize or soo, depending on the quantity you want..
When you get home get a big bucket which can contain the quantity of maize you bought, then pour the maize inside and fill it up with water(allow the water cover the maize completely)....

      2) Assuming you soaked the maize on monday morning, you have to wash the maize on wednesday night(with sieve and water so it can be faster) then change the water again as you soak the maize in a fresh water again(fill it up too)..

      3) The next day which is the fourth day(that is thursday morning) wash the maize again but this time around you wash with that same sieve and pour in another neat bucket(container which has a cover) which you would now take to those people who grind maize, beans etc(if you dont have your own personal grinding machine)..

Note:As you are washing it on the last day,its just the maize which you have washed that you are putting in that empty container and also you dont soak it in water again oooo..you just wash well and pour the maize in that container.

      4) After grinding;you now come home, get a sieve(you can ask those people that grind things where you can buy sieve for pap/Akam/ogi,its sold from #200-500 depending on the size you buy) and tie it to a bucket such that the grinded maize can not just fall into the bucket you tied the sieve unto..

      5) After tying the sieve to the bucket, you now pour a reasonable quantity of grinded maize which the bucket can carry on the sieve, and start sieving the maize and be adding water gradually while you keep stirring continously with your hands..
You keep repeating this process until you sieve the pap well and the remnant(we call it chaff) is now left, then you use a small handy sieve to gather the remnant together, squeeze the water out cos it contains some pap and then dispose the remnant in a nearby bucket around you.

Repeat the sieving process until you finish the grinded maize..

      6) When you are done, you allow the sieve pap now settle for like five hours(so the pap can separate now from water down the bucket which you tied your sieve...

After the hours elapse you now gradually remove the water and you would see your pap settled at the bottom of your bucket...
You can now those clothes they use it putting the pap together(buy it at the market, just ask those people that grind things too) and pour in your pap then after few hours, your pap will stick together and be just the way you buy it at the market..

Hope this helps, you can ask any question under and i would try my best to explain better to you okay..

The process is very easy, and you would be glad doing this yourself..just read all i wrote up there gradually!

      @MARTINS ABOY

    6. For the pap, buy guineacorn, millet and a little bit of wheat, grind them and seive. Make sure you change the water everyday. You can add whatever formula you like at each feeding.

You baby can eat Frisogold now, it's a cereal mixed with baby formula and it has different types though I prefer the rice cereal for iron.

You can buy white cray fish, pick the dirt, grind by yourself and add to the pap whilst cooking.

Mashed beans and butter is good too.
Boiled fish is essential, even though the baby might not eat a lot now but it's important you start teaching him/her how to eat.

When I started my own pap I used to add a little bit of brown rice and dried potatoes, but the process of drying the potato na long thing abeg.

I wish you and your baby all the best.

In addition to all👆,Soy beans is VERY GOOD for the baby but if u grind with your millet n co you will have to refrigerate, what I did was blend the soyabeans after picking and washing and keep in the freezer, mix a bit to the pap in a bowl before u pour in d boiling water,I used to add groundnut too,ud clean and blend to a paste, add to the boiling water for few minutes so it cooks well before ur ogi, this combo is good for EVERYTHING,brain development, skin, etc!!!
Make egg custard for the baby once in a while
Make ewedu with Titus+very soft semo/amala
      Buy friso gold/cerelac/nutriben/nutribom with milk
Buy follow on milk to use for pap
      Soft fried plantain too
Note that you would only be trying the solids bit by bit to know if she can accommodate them
Don't try 2 solids on the same day!!
If she takes pap in the morn, follow with breast milk then cereal then either of the suggested meal

    9. Martins and RSQ, una well done.
I wasn't the one that asked the question but I have learnt a lot from your comments.

I will definitely start preparing mine when baby reaches 6 months.

For the lady that asked the question, u can add soyabean to the pap too. U can also prepare the soyabean by yourself.

    1. Anty i do not mean to sound rude, but don’t u have family members or neighbours to ask? Some might even show u. How do u now want sm1 to start writing step by step process of how to make pap? Or better still go to you tune and watch.

    3. ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️Go up. Martins has posted it for u. But to make pap no hard. People talk about adding crayfish, groundnut and stuff to the corn before grinding. Heard its good for the baby. Ask first sha.

    4. The crayfish and others should be added to the soyabean. My sis adds prawn, dried unripe plantains and any other thing she feels like.

  32. I'm so grateful for yesterday's post on areas in Lagos. I trust the opinions there more than what I can get from any agent. For those who mentioned Surelere and Yaba having 'nice and tush areas', please where are they?I've been to Yaba and I haven't seen anything ' tu' much less 'tush'. My younger sister is relocating and her office is at Yaba. I want to her to stay at least 'walkable' distance. Let her be walking to the office and lose weight. Water, security, electricity is essential.
Meanwhile, can we have one for Abuja please, including hotspots etc?

You can also make zobo drinks. With 2k, you can start that one. If you're in Abuja, I can direct you to where you'll buy new sealed plastic bottles. You'll sell more when people know you don't pick used plastics.

  47. Good morning people! on yesterday's depression post, I typed a lot but it wiped off.😢 Well...my own is that depression is like a dark place, a point of no return where you feel helpless and hopeless. In early 2014 I was dumped by someone that I loved so dearly. That event had a negative effect on my self esteem. I was bruised and left shattered. I had just finish my I.T after ND program and couldn't go back to school because of money so I started looking for jobs and was sexually molested during this period. It was a dark time, I would look up to the ceiling fan and the thought of buying a rope and committing suicide constantly filled my heart. I will come on this blog, read and laugh. It was one of my few coping mechanism. I later got a teaching job and I went back to school. I'm currently schooling in Uniben. Truthfully, I'm still struggling with depressive thoughts but it is better than 2014-2016 years. What I try to do is reaching out to my friends and other people. I try to make them laugh the way I can. Let's us learn to reach out. Never underestimate the struggles of other people. This blog has helped me in so many ways.
