  1. Wow! It's a year already. Please stay woke guys! Some of the vendors at the trade fair sell fake items. It's sad that there is no proper screening for something as big as this. Last year's Trade Fair, I almost got scammed. I went with my sister-in-law to get a smart TV. I was using a Samsung S7 then, and as soon as I got to a particular store, I got a notification on my phone asking if I wanted to use my phone as a remote to connect to a Samsung Smart TV, or view my phone on the TV screen. I loved it. Told them to package the TV- They asked for 350k (it was a 55 inch smart TV). I told them I had only 280k- we agreed at 288k. They turned on the TV to show me it was working. When we got home, I tried installing the TV. It came on, but I didn't get that same notification I got earlier on my phone. So I started to wonder. I even installed a TV remote app on my phone; still didn't work. Then I turned off the TV and restarted. As it was booting, I saw a logo "Smart Cloud"- remember, this TV is a Samsung TV; had samsung logo on it, worked with a samsung remove control. I then Googled "Smart Cloud"- apaz, there's actually a brand called Smart Cloud. So, these guys sold a TV that had a Samsung body, but the content was "Smart Cloud TV. I immediately called those people- luckily for me, it was on a Saturday, and Trade Fair would end the next day. I told the guy I wanted to buy more electronics and he told me to come.

To cut the story short, we got there as early as 7- they denied that it was fake; they said it was a Korean version of Samsung- My sister-in-law was ready to make noise- people were watching. The oga now called us aside and told us to take the LG for 450k, and that we could spread the balance in 3 months, no pressure. We said no. After all the back and forth----he confessed to us that even the LG he told us to take was also fake, and that 90% of his products, including the large LG stall opposite him , were fake- that man must chop. We were able to get 280k back. He said the 8k was deducted because they would have to replace the pack that we opened. I was happy still. Imagine buying a fake TV for 280k. ---- While all these were happening, I contacted the organisers of the Trade Fair- no response. Just be careful guys.

    2. I only buy shit like soap, lotions and costume jewellery, maybe certain kind of clothes or makeup at these places. No way in hell am I going to buy electronics. I may go as far as buying a mop or a special broom, but that is it. Thanks for the headsup though I am sure BVs appreciate you sharing your experience.
