he expressed deep regret over his actions during the recent APC primary in Surulere and pleaded to be accepted back into the Lagos political fold.
Desmond who represens Surulere Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, admitted he had been “guided by wrong thoughts” during the primary. He accepted the decision of Surulere voters and promised renewed loyalty to the Lagos APC leadership, often referred to as the GAC.
Gbajabiamila listened and then embraced him warmly, signaling a willingness to move past the rift.
This reconciliation comes months after a public fallout linked to the failed attempt to remove Lagos Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
Gbajabiamila previously said the crisis nearly cost him his job due to reports tying Elliot to the plot.
Elliot had already apologized publicly in May, calling Gbajabiamila his mentor and “daddy,” and insisting any offence was not intentional.
He lost the APC ticket for a fourth term to Barakat Odunuga‑Bakare, who enjoyed strong backing from party leadership.
