Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative....

I find this piece interesting. Please read it patiently......

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
A STORY TO LEARN FROM...

One day, Lucy told her cousin, Denis, who lives broad, “I’ve seen a beautiful woman you will love to marry.” And, her cousin said, can you “connect us?” Denis was connected to Lucy’s friend, Victoria. The relationship was astonishingly growing into divine love.

One day, Lucy invited Victoria to her house which she spent the night there in the guest room. The following day, Lucy’s man-friend, Clement and her nephew, Lawson (they all live together with Lucy), accompanied Victoria to a church program at Lucy’s church, while she (Lucy) drove off to work.

On getting close to the church, Clement asked “Please, can you drop me at that ATM point?” Victoria could not say ‘No’ for the sake of her dear friend, without minding that she was going late for the program. Then Lawson said, “Let me alight here so I can reserve seats for you guys.” He alighted, while Victoria and Denis drove to the ATM point very close to the church. Getting there, there was queue which caused about 10mins delay.

Then, Clement said, “I just remembered I need to print a document,” “Sorry for that, I have to attend the program.” They parted ways. She entered the church hall and searched for Lawson to no avail. Besides, she didn’t have his phone nos. she sat in an available seat and enjoyed the service. As the service closed, she drove back to her house. When she got home, she found several missed calls from Lucy, she tried returning the calls but Lucy did not pick immediate. When she finally picked, it was Clement’s voice. “Can you give the phone to your woman, please?” “Hmmm, she’s in the bathroom.” Clement replied. She held the phone until Lucy picked. But, her response was cold. “Are you okay?” Victoria enquired. “Yes,” She replied sharply. Victoria, who is always giving excuses for Lucy thought within her that it could be stress of work. She apologized for her missed calls and explained what transpired. Meanwhile, her relationship with Denis was still waxing strong in love.

Consequently, after a week, Denis stopped checking on Victoria as he used to do. She tried all she could to make him communicate to no avail. She ran to Lucy “Have you heard from your cousin, he’s not calling me, nor picking my calls, nor replying my massages (even, when the massages are marked ‘read’). Please, help me check on him. I’m getting worried.” “Ok, I will do that.” Lucy replied. After 2 or 3 weeks, Victoria ran to her friend again, “Have you heard from him?” “My dear, every one of us has been calling him, he’s not picking. You know these people that lives in abroad, they easily get depressed. He may be going through depression.” Lucy concluded. Out of hopelessness, Victoria started calling on her God to intervene. But still, her beloved Denis did not show up for some months. In the process of time, an angelic man showed up to marry Victoria… within few months Victoria got married to the angelic man.

During Victoria’s honeymoon, Lucy called her lamenting and crying pitifully for her expensive gold jewelry she was looking for and she does not know where she kept it. Since, Victoria knew that her husband is gifted in seeing ‘visions’, she took her phone to her husband to please pray for her dear friend, peradventure, God will reveal to him where she kept it. That was the first personal contact between Lucy and Victoria’s husband: for he did not only prayed for her on the phone but he also fixed a day to go to her house and pray for her. Surprisingly, the following day after that ‘prayer’, Victoria couldn’t understand her husband anymore! Her once an angelic husband suddenly became a very violent and abusive husband!

She didn’t know that Lucy has been so jealous, envious and bitter against Victoria. She didn’t know that all the while, Lucy had assumed that Victoria had actually had a secret affair with Clement. Lucy vowed within herself to revenge Victoria – by destroying her relationship/ marriage. Behold Victoria did not know.

But, the God that sees in secrets knew! Victoria, with her innocent and sincere heart decided long ago to separate her relationships, especially with her suitors from her friendship with Lucy because of an experience she had had with Lucy: Few years ago before Victoria connection with Denis, there was a very lovely suitor that sought Victoria’s hand in marriage and she confided with her dear friend, Lucy. Victoria did not know how this man suddenly entangled himself with Lucy to the point of exchanging phone numbers. As if that was not enough, Victoria’s guy started behaving strange that she ran to her dear friend (as usual) to tell her ordeal and get some advice.

It was there that Lucy showed her phone to Victoria, “I didn’t want to spoil your relationship that’s why I refused to show you since. He has been disturbing me all this while. Hmmm,,na wahoo for all these men.” Victoria scrolled Lucy’s whatsapp chat and saw her fiancé telling her friend “I wish you are here, I missed you so much and bla bla bla….” That was how Victoria got to know that her beloved fiancé was chasing after her dear friend! But, since she trusted her friend, she did not suspect any foul play. In fact, she appreciated her friend for revealing this to her. Little did she know that Lucy actually threw herself to her fiancé and he sheepishly fell to her trap. She didn’t know that for over four years, she has been eating and drinking with an enemy she called her dear friend.

She didn’t know Lucy actually tarnished her image to Denis. She didn’t know that Lucy had been manipulating her way in destroying her relationships and marriage. She didn’t know that Lucy could condescend so low to secretly make friend to Victoria’s colleague, who had been constantly insulted, slandered, instigated other people to hate Victoria and lied against her time without numbers – just to hurt Victoria the more. As if that was not enough, Lucy secretly connected Denis to this same Victoria colleague and they started working together to hurt Victoria the more!

Victoria did not know that Lucy manipulated herself secretly to become best friend and confidant to Victoria husband, meanwhile Victoria always ran to her to confide how her husband suddenly changed. How he had been so abusive, violent and blocked her phone lines from reaching on whatsapp, facebook and even calls/massages. No, Victoria did not know until one of these days when her husband abused her and called her all manner of names, and mistakenly said: “Your friend Lucy has even told me all about you!” That was when she decided to seek her God the more.

And, the Almighty God unfolded event of things to her, He revealed the secret counsels of the wicked – while Victoria’s husband ran out of the house, he was communicating with Lucy as his beloved! Still, Victoria did not know. All that Victoria knows was that the Lord is mighty in her midst and He’s doing mighty things for her because He knows all things.

………………………….

Please, beware of those you call “My dear friend.” Be wise, don’t be sincerely innocent like Victoria, for you may not live to tell your success story. Who knows how many times Lucy must have tried to poison Victory? But, Mercy says “NO”, Now she is waxing strong as a Crusader to the helpless, abused men and women and everyone that are being unjustly treated. Cheers (This is my one year marriage anniversary gift to you all).

WOW....thank you for sharing with us and happy wedding Anniversary to you both.!

  11. My own experience...

I had a friend called chioma, we have been friends since after WAEC. Chioma's elder sister Chika, met an abroad guy that wants a wife.

Chika is married and so is chioma but, chioma lost her husband in a car accident. Chika told her sister chioma about the man and asked if she's interested, which she said no.

Then, chioma told her sister, what of Nma? which is me, let's link the guy to her.

I was on my own jeje, they both called me and told me about the man and gave him my number.

We(the man and myself ) started talking and planning. He asked what i'm currently doing, told him job hunting. He said okay, it's better i relocate and come over for my masters.

Whatever we discussed, he tells Chika, including the plans of relocating to further my education.

One day, he called me and started saying all sorts, how i smoke, drink and club. That my friend who's a widow is more behaved than me bla bla bla.

Meanwhile, the same friend, brings her bfs to my house to sleep with, some times she drops her baby with me or the sister to travel. But she was the one that told lies about me, i guess the sister must have told her the man's plans for me, which made her jealous.

Well, i cut off from both they man and chioma and her family. I ran into her some time and she shamelessly said, that man is stingy, all he could send her was 10k.

    1. Without being told, this person must either be the Lucy or Victoria's evil and attention-seeking colleague, looking for a soft landing subtly. My dear Anonymous 1204hrs, it's only a mad man/woman that can called anyone he sees on the road "mad." You can't be so blind not to see Victoria (or the Writer as you called) as being more-than- a conqueror and a Survivor. The way you reacted to the Writer, i don't think you have an idea of what the abused people are going through in the hands of their abusers. We encourage people to break the aged long silence. And, let me add here, in as much as we don't encourage divorce, any woman going through any form of domestic violence by their husbands, should need to reconsider the marriage. Marriage is a means to an end and not an end itself, so stop this ignorance statement of "you can't keep your marriage," it gat nothing to do with a woman like Victoria. Or, maybe you need to experience a hundred fold of what Victoria went through. Merry Christmas.

  22. Wow.what a way of breaking the culture of silence.to the anonymous person that seems to know victoria, have you considered you may be right or wrong but the fact remains that when people come out to tell there story they need to be encouraged and not to be blamed or castigated.whoever you are,I believe there is something your battling with pls do well to voice out.

    1. I thought as much for that anonymous that seemed to know the writer - she really needs help. Since she knows the writer, she should kill her pride and ignorance and ask her for help. I think, for Victoria to share her story, she has already stood up to help anyone.
