Katsina State Has A New Speaker

The member representing Zango constituency, Hon. Tasi’u Musa Maigari has emerged as the Speaker of Katsina state House of Assembly.

Maigari was nominated for the post following the resignation of Abubakar Yahaya Kusada as speaker following his election as member of House of Representatives representing Ingawa/Kusada/Kankia Federal constituency.

At the resume sitting of the House on Monday, Kusada announced his resignation and the Clerk of the house thereafter declared the seat vacant and calls for nomination to fill the position.


The member representing Matazu, Ibrahim Dikko put forward the nomination which was seconded by Sani Lawal from Baure Constituency which the whole house agreed. The new speaker has adjourned sitting to January 14th 2019.
