NYSC Allegedly Cancels Davido’s One Year Service

Nigerian popstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, has cancelled his one-year orientation exercise.

Davido made this public in a comment on Instagram page, davidoofficial.

He was reacting to a post made by Nigerian music promoter, Adesegun Adeosun, popularly known as Smade who just finished his three-week NYSC orientation program, and got a letter of recommendation.

Davido wrote, “Naso dem cancel my own.”

Davido is a graduate of Babcock University. He graduated in 2015 after studying music.
He registered for NYSC in 2018 Batch ‘B’ stream II corps members who were sworn in on August 30.

  1. Cancel meaning they will give him discharge certificate without completing NYSC or rustication; which one?

    1. I think because of politics.

He's not supposed to actively participate in politics

    2. Nonsense! Not politics. During the camp, he was busy junketing around. Did he complete camping? Where was he posted to?

    3. He is not the first to stay out of camp during orientation.

As far as you were mobilised and you registered you will be posted for primary assignment.

    1. There is nothing to do with enemies here. He didn’t stay in camp. He doesn’t have a POP. What nonsense!

    2. Let your bitterness not cloud your judgement. Lagos corpers are allowed to live outside during camp because of lack of space. There is no restriction on movement. He is a business owner and can work in his company during nysc. In lag, You are encouraged to find a company to serve in. Once you bring your letter of employment, nysc will post you to that company. This makes their life easy and enables them post other corpers without connection to the available govt and private firms that need corpers.

    2. Anon you're just everywhere ranting. Do you even know NYSC rules? Politics played a major role in the cancellation. As a civil servant which he is,he is not supposed to participate in politics actively.

NB: It is PPA(Place of Primary Assignment) not POP(Passing out Parade)

      Obviously you didn't serve.
