Soon after Law school, she bagged her Barrister at Law (B.L) Hons. Degree

On completion of her National service, Sokefun joined the law firm of M.P Ohwovoriole (SAN) & Co, as a Trainee Solicitor and Barrister in December 1989 and worked there till June 1990. In September 1990, she moved to Ighodalo and Associates Limited, a thriving audit firm as Company Secretary, where she was saddled with the responsibility of running the Company’s secretarial arm and acted as Company Secretary to a number of its audit clients. She soon joined Messrs Aluko and Oyebode, Barristers, Solicitors and Trademark Agents in October 1993 as an Associate. And in 1995 she moved a step further in her career as she qualified as a Graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria and that of London-ACIS.

In acknowledgement of her sterling professional dedication to her duties, she was promoted a Senior Associate at Aluko and Oyebode in 1995 and became a Partner in 2000. She was responsible for coordinating the firm’s interface with government corporations and institutions as well as developing templates for the company’s legal and commercial transactions among others.

She was with the legal firm until October 2001, after which she briefly worked (on secondment) with the telecommunications firm MTN from October 2001 till January 2002.

In February 2002, she was appointed Head, Management Services, (Legal, Human Resources and Administration) of Ocean and Oil Services Limited.

On the 1st of February 2005, she joined Oando Group Plc as Head, Legal Services.

Sokefun in this position, was a member of the Group Leadership Council – the highest decision making body of the company.

Despite her high position on the corporate ladder of Oando Plc, she decided to take a break to serve her people by first accepting to serve as a member of the Oil and Gas work Stream of the Ogun State Transition Committee in 2011.

Ronke, who recently turned 50 was later appointed as the Special Adviser and Director General of the Bureau of Lands and Survey by the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, CON, FCA ,before her elevation to the position of the Commissioner for Agriculture on November 27″ 2012.and again re-appointed in 2015.
