I thank God for His faithfulness, been spending christmas for the past three years with my mum and sisters since Oga has not been around, this year I have decided to stay in my house with my kids. God has been so good to us, we have risen above the issues of Life that almost drowned us.

    1. This year is better than last year. This time, I was still a jobless graduate without skills doing little jobs here and there to survive, also suffered a major heartbreak towards the end of November. I was a shadow of myself. Today, I have a skill thanks to SDK blog, something that can feed me and take care of my basic needs. I say thank you Lord. I look forward to being fully established in 2019, with a good man and a family of my own.

  6. This time last year I almost ended my life. I sent in my story here just because I wanted to tell my story before leaving. I was at my lowest, tired of breathing sef. I had giving up already. Then the calls started coming in, the encouragements, the friendships. It took a while but I redefined my existence after lotssss of counselling. A year later I'm happy I did send in that story. I'm farrrr better than I was, more confident and very much still alive. Thanks Stella darling. You are amazing.

We did'nt even remember its christmas, our dad later died on 3rd of January 2018, it's very painful to remember. Coming to this year xmas, our marriage dates is fixed from this December, January and February for three of us. We are now planning celebration upon celebration. We re now hearing congratulation instead of sorry from people. Thank you Ancient of the days, onye dika gi,daalu Chi omam.

I'd say my life got better, I remembered this time last year I didn't go home for the break I stayed back in school, too many things happened this year the devil really tried but Christ was in charge. I became a graduate this year currently serving in Ekiti state, things turned around for good in my family.

I really look forward to to the year 2019.

  15. Last year Christmas I'd just had a baby, things were really tough for me. No money, just a few bags diapers I was selling. On Christmas day, I cooked rice and smoked fish. I was also worried about renewing my rent.
This Christmas, I have assorted meat in the freezer, foodstuff, drinks, good profit from my business, no debts. It's been a good year. I have too much to type, I hope we'll have another post on this. I dey go somewhere.
    God bless you Stella.

  17. I'm most grateful to God for where I am today, I could remember vividly early this year I got a relieved letter from my formal place of work, plus an unfortunate incident that occurred to someone very dear to me ( We are still hoping on God to fulfill his promise). It wasn't easy at all but at the mid of the year I got an amazing offer far better than my formal. I really appreciate God because in every disappointment there's always a blessing. I know I haven't gotten it all but I thank God for where I am today.

  21. This year has been the best. The money just keep pouring in. No church affiliation. Just kneeling down every morning praying and reading Psalms before leaving the house. The first time ever that I have money sitting in the bank with nothing really to do with it. I cut down all unnecessary expenses. When I see new cars, I tell myself-- you can afford this if you want it. I just shake my head and laugh. Why spend millions on a car that will depreciate quickly. Still riding my 10 years old, problem free car and loving it. My friends that own newer cars are always financially stressed. Ever wonder why? They don't understand the money game. Praise be to God.

But when we sit down and think back, we realise we've been making progress in leaps and bounds. Thank you Lord for everything, the challenges and the massive succeses. This year is definitely better than last year. Next year I'm sure will be much more better, I feel it already. Way is already paving, lines are already falling in place. Thank you Jesus.

I was sad deep down but kept strong by his grace. . ....This year's Christmas am so certain it's gonna be better, I learnt to sew, made beautiful dresses for my younger ones, started a small business, was able to give to someone in need, fried chin chin.. lols I never thought I culd be this strong.... On a sad note Just lost my dog few hours ago.....sad though but life goes on.... I bless God for provision and for taking shame away..... Can't wait for 2019.

  27. Thank you Jesus. My life is definitely better than last year. This time last year, my hubby and I were enstranged. He actually had moved out of the house. This Christmas we are back together, my kids doing well, more millions in my account, I paid equity for a 3 bedroom apartment in Abuja and we are all alive and healthy. Lessons I learned, women pls value yourselves. Don’t let a man treat you bad. When you let them know their boundaries some of them will behave. Also ladies pls, don’t depend on a man (husband, boyfriend or wareva)for your money goals. You can achieve anything, buy or own anything if you work hard...

  30. Anonymous bv for three years now.
Well this time last year I was thinking about my single status. employment stautus for 7 years, financial status etc..not knowing God has already finalised it all. Despite the constant beautiful dreams showing me so, i just didn't acknowledge them because it hadn't happened for me in the physical at the time.
Extremely beautiful at 29 but never had one single serious relationship all because of my no sex stance at the time.
People would say, "God is keeping you for the best", but deep down within me i felt God being a jealous God was simply keeping me for himself since no
day passes by that people don't compliment me even ladies, married or single.... so in my little mind i thought he was just keeping the best of the best for himself😋 that when he was ready he will release me for my future spouse. Whatever that means.
A week later while minding my business, mind you at this point I had resigned to my fate since I believed God didn't want to release me to a man yet,so i stopped thinking about marriage.
A tall light-skinned guy well sculptured like juan miguel in don't mess with an angel walked up to me at a minimart. He was too cute Stella, just my type*lick lips*. Actually he came with two ladies so I never assumed he wanted my number. He opened his mouth and I melted..."cough",hmmm, i meant literally.
He was speaking in an americanalized way( if there's any word like that). I was just staring at him, oh my you needed to see his lips, skin, eyes, gosh!!!. I guessed he must have walked through my mind because he chuckled, i turned red instantly.
Well He later introduced me to the ladies, they were his cousin and I got to know he came home for Christmas.
We hung out on Christmas day, and it meant a lot to me because I have never hung out on any special seasons with a man before. It's either am indoors or celebrating with my parents. Is it me that i didn't have anybody to hang out with i kukuma agreed when he suggested it. However the funniest part was that he had someone but he chose me. You see Stella he hasn't been home for over 22 years and he was single, Yaaas!!!!. He came home to get a wife based on recommendation from his grandparent for there was a lady in church they had in mind for him and him wanting to marry asap came down to see her and if everything went well he promised himself they would be married in a space of three months so as to go back to work on time.
I was surprised at that age he was still single but when he told me his profession my mouth went agape he had to use his hand to close it, in a nice way of course.
It takes a really selfless person to embark on such academic pursuit that drains you of your personal time and personal relationships. I thought to myself no wonder they recommended a lady to him for he couldn't have sustained one on his own. He was supposed to meet the lady the next Sunday, mind you he came during the week but he told me when he met me he lost interest in meeting her. He knew at that point orchestrating a meeting with her was just God's way of connecting us together.
2 weeks later they came to our house with the head pastor to discuss with my parents who still couldn't grasp the whole rationale behind meeting someone in a week and talking about marriage like that wasn't the in thing during their single days. Within a month we did our introduction and two months later we got married. Wedding night was not what i expected for i was really tight and it was painful but now am a freak.
We never dated but he is the best man ever. Pregnant with twins and my Due date so close. Due to his connections I got a job instantly in one of the big companies in the state, the HQ to be precise. He is sponsoring my Doctorate programme. God please forgive me for not understanding you had greater plans for me back then. That's my Christmas story.

She did not say she was a virgin, she said she was celibate, as in, no sex. And this scared men away. Her being tight was as a result of the long time without sex. Before you come and call me bitter non-virgin gwegs and all sorts, I am married with kids.

I was tight because my h*men was intact, he was the first and the only man to see my nakedness. I lost relationships in the past because i refused not just sex but pre-intimacy, i only allowed pecks and holding hands.

  47. My life took a tremendous turn for the better in 2018. This time last year I was hopeless having just got a rejection mail from a big company after going through 5 stages of assessment. Although I was working at that time, it was more like a slavery kinda job. I had no money, I was squatting, I couldn't even feed well or buy ordinary clothes for myself. In fact I was almost suicidal. As God would have it, I started two other recruitment processes in January and by ending of February I got the two mouthwatering jobs that I had to choose the most favorable. Now I have moved into my own rented miniflat and furnished it too, have substantial amount in my account, buy things I want at will, enjoy my job and love my colleagues, gave my mom reasonable amount for Christmas etc. I'm so grateful to God. This year has been my best year so far. The only grey area now is my relationship life, my guy started acting up because his family has an issue that I'm Imo and Anglican (Anambrans why are you guys like this?). I've been trying to move on but it has not been easy. May 2019 be better.

  48. This time last year i was so miserable, unhappy n frustrated with my life all because of the poor choice i made. But this year so far God has been so good to me. I have decided to put all my hope in God. For only him can do what no man can do Jehovah.

  50. I can't lie it has never been better for me,last Xmas i was depressed so bad because of a failed relationship and lots of other disappointments.I'm a graduate, done with school since 2015 but no reasonable job till now and not like i have not been trying,i have applied, approach people and even attended interviews and i always up with the lest paid job.No relationship,i did try to even grow one but he doesn't fancy me and am 30 already, really wish to settle but no man and am also from a very poor home,my family's hope is on me since i am the elders and only one done with school for now but i have nothing to offer,my mum has began old from hardship and am here. Many a times i feel like taking my life but i remember God's word and it's scared me since i don't want to end up in hell,am the only female and am always alone,i don't socialise. My life is a mystery

    1. You are the only female meaning that the rest are boys. So the guys cannot hustle and train themselves? You are their only hope because you are done with school?
With their poor condition, why did your parents bring children they cannot train into the world ? Why put all the burden on your shoulder because you are the eldest?
This practice is very wrong. We have them on this blog, giving birth like rats today, you see them with three or four kids and begging upandan, in future, the first child will be saddled with the training of the rest. Irresponsible parents everywhere.
@unknown, don't kill yourself o, do your best for your mum and tell your brothers to go out there and hustle. Even though they did not choose to be born but it has happened, it has happened.

  52. This time last year I was battling with acne and face discoloration which really affected my self esteem. I found it difficult mixing up with people even at work, people kept pointing fingers at me. This December all the acne has cleared though I'm still battling with face discoloration which I'm already seeing positive changes.

  53. Last Christmas my mum was still healthy but this Christmas she’s been diagnosed with Dementia. I miss her so much, she is most times confused!! I miss my loving mum!! But even in her confused elderly state, she still wants to protect her children and grandchildren! She still wants us to be okay with no harm. I can boldly say that nobody does motherhood like her, not even me! But God knows best!!
