Toke Makinwa Reveals That Fixing Her Body Is The Best Decision She Took In 2018...

Media Personality Toke Makinwa has revealed that fixing her body is the best decision she took this year. She made this known while listing her 2018 life lessons in a series of tweets.

She wrote;

My 2018 ... #onbecomingmore

I learnt to speak up a bit more for myself this year.

I stopped forcing things or people this year, I learnt to totally accept that I am not for everybody and that’s totally fine

I felt the power of God, I experienced a new level of grace, the anointing of ease and I totally know without a doubt that God is in my corner.

I learnt that we all have baggage, we are all healing from something. Knowing is the first step to healing. I stopped being so defensive too.

This year I experienced a dangerous level of freedom. I literally have no fucks to give, no explanation as to how I choose to live my life.” i woke up one day and started living for me.

I learnt not to take failure to heart. Failure is not such a bad thing, it gives you a lot more ways to do things differently, it keeps you on your toes and literally builds your character.

This year I learnt to laugh at myself more. See when you shame the shame culture you have nothing to fear.

This year the Lord blessed me, he enlarged my territory and lifted my head through it all. I started 2 businesses and they are flourishing, everything I touched, prospered.

I experienced a lot of disappointments too. I learnt to pick myself up after each setback without losing who I am, it isn’t the easiest thing to do but I literally had to speak words of life, positive affirmations (Godfessions)

My relationship with God grew this year, I read my bible every day this year, I looked forward to his presence every night this year, truly the best feeling #AlonewithGod

This year I stopped complaining and changed things. I hated my body, I fixed it, (best decision ever).

I hated hanging around certain people who made me feel small; I dropped them, I learnt to forgive (I still struggle but it’s a journey), I learnt to be at peaceOooooh I also learnt that life is not black and white, there are shades of grey. You don’t know it all. You don’t have to understand everyone’s journey but it’s your duty to respect it. Nobody Holy pass.

I learnt the power of compassion. We are all saved by grace and grace alone. Stopped thinking you are better that the next person, if you were in their shoes, you may do worse. Life happens to everyone and it’ll humble you.

This year I tried to give Love a Chance again but let’s just say “if a fish and a bird fell in love, where would they make home”??? Still figuring me out but it was the best times I had.

This year I learnt to accept things for what they are. Some people come in to your life to play a role, I call them travelers, when their job is done, let them go. Stop trying to make permanent what is temporal, you’ll lose the beauty of it all.

Shared enough for the day. Hope my tweets inspired, amused, confused and left you wanting more. Chat later, happy holidays.

Ohh how could I forget, I learnt this year the power of words. I started using #OnBecomingmore and I started becoming more. Words are life. Don’t underestimate the words you speak.

  4. Stay the fuck away from social media! You are making progress but don’t be a loudspeaker! Let people miss you and want you! I love you and want you to be genuinely happy!

    1. Social media is her happiness

    2. Social media is a big part of her money making machine. She's figured that out and utilizing it to the max. Figure out what yours is and leave hers alone.

    3. She can’t unfortunately. Social media is her source of happiness. It’s like being high on weed for a while but the effect does not last, hence the constant need to stay relevant and stay controversial. She’d rather do this than sorting out her underlying issues of self esteem and abandonment.

    4. Thanks,Anon 12:42. I don't think these guys who commented read what Toke wrote or understood the texts. At the centre of her evolution is her esteem, but then our 'friends' are not big on comprehension. Isookay. Once some of you hear Omotola,Omoli,Toke,Tonto....you start foaming in the mouth!

  9. Your relationship with God grew, you looked forward to His presence every night yet hated your body(a body that was created in His image) how contradictory!

May this confusion not follow you into 2019.

    2. Well I liked her body as it was. But it is her choice to change it sha. I especially don't like the way she said she hated her body, fine she changed it, but to use the word hate is almost like she is saying she hates herself. After all, she wasn't deformed or something.

  12. Let's be honest, she never had a great body. If fixing it made her happy, then y'all should stop judging her

  13. This whole idea of 'I don't like my body, I'm fixing it' is very dangerous. Why? Because God in his infinite wisdom created us to be imperfectly perfect. He knew that if we were all perfect i.e. perfect nose, perfect color, perfect skin, perfect body, etc, the world would be a boring place with no identity.
Toke needs to work on her self esteem because people like her will ALWAYS find something to fix! Today it's her hips and body, tomorrow it will be her nose and her hips. As for her skin, she has already done that. Etc etc. Then what happens? She ends up looking like Joan Rivers, with horrible, overdone plastic surgery! A perfect example of what low self esteem can do is Kim Kardashian. Kim used to be stunningly beautiful but it wasn't enough for her and she kept tampering with her face. Now she looks like Michael Jackson's corpse.
That's the one thing I like about Dr. Dubrow and Dr. Nassif on Botched; when they see that you're becoming too addicted to plastic surgery, they warn you to stop. And these are people who make money from plastic surgery.
It's fine to want to look your best. By all means exercise, eat well, wear nice clothes and take care of your skin. It's good to enhance and maintain yourself. But there's a huge difference between ENHANCING and MAINTAINING yourself and ALTERING YOURSELF. Altering yourself is a sign that something is severely wrong with your sense of self.
Like Beyoncé says "We try to fix something but you can't fix what you can't see. It's the soul that needs the surgery."
    Work on your soul, Toke.

    1. God bless you for speaking my mind 12:54. I can't get over the word, hate, that she used. Her issues are far deeper than how she looks. If she can fix that which is missing inside, she will even be wondering why she bothered with the surgery. This one is past maintenance ooo, which I think is ok, you want to enhance, this has to do with hate, which is like saying you want to change who you are. Or maybe she didn't use the right words? I don't know, but her post is wan kind, as they say...

  14. You people are quick to question someone's self esteem. One will think you all are the most confident people in the world . But nope! You're the same people to cry out about depression and anxiety and frustration. We all have our ish. It may not be constant but we do.
May you drop the self esteem measuring tape you hold on this blog in 2019. Focus more on yourself and stop labeling celebrities as such just because you want a companion in your misery.
Toke shares both good and low times on her pages but you all accuse her of being fake just because you choose to tear down and through her good times only.
Rejoice with people so you'll experience Joy too. You don't have to tap into it but don't tear into it either.
