Apostle Suleman Addresses The Issue Of Reading The Bible From Mobile Gadgets In Church

On Sunday 27 January ,the Restoration Apostle Johnson Suleman addressed the issue of reading the Bible from a mobile device or other gadgets in church.

While speaking he said ''don't bring your iPhone, iPad or any device to church and read from it, as it is not a sign of reverence to God''.

He also emphasized that it could be used outside the church but not within the church.

Speaking from the book of John 5:31 and Joshua 1:8, He also declared that God knew that there would be technological advancement before these scriptures were written

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success",

Luke 4:17 speaking of Jesus that he opened the book and verse 20 "he closed the book", Hebrew 10:7.

Apostle Johnson Suleman emphasized that Reverence is expressed through attitude, saying even in banks you switch off your phones, when you go to government houses, presidential villa ,you switch off your phone as a sign of reverence and honour.

He said, "it is not a sin to however read the bible from your phone or other devices but an error and disregard". He also explained the difference between sin and errors, saying that some persons might not be sinful but living a life of error. This he explained using the Bible references from Mathew 22:29, 1 John 4:6, Ecclesiastes 5:6, 10:5 and 2 Peter 2:18.

He admonishes Christians to bring the book (their Bibles) and not their phones or other electronic devices to church as this is a sign of respect, regard and reverence to God.

    1. Yes he has a point, but most times gadgets are used because you would want to read same scripture but from several translations for proper understanding. So dose ot now mean we carry several bibles to church? I use my tab to read my bible but believe me,my data is always off so ke massage till after service. In countries where Christians are being prosecuted and they have access to it through their phones, are you now saying they cant use it to study the word of God?

    3. Lol. This man is funny. His reasons are wack. Not a sign of reverence how?
The only reason I would say is that it may be distracting to the person beside you and you also you may be tempted to click on other apps during service.
So it may pose a temptation but it is definitely not something that anybody needs to make a
Law about. Talmbout ‘don’t bring it here’.
Is it the paper that sanctifies the Word of God’?
Os it no longer the Inspired Word because you do not read it on paper? Meanwhile, we are not reading it from Papyrus oh, we are reading a commercially printed book.

This is how you k’now a spiritually led person

I am 100% in support with his advice. I do not buy the idea of studying your bible in a gadget.

  7. Now I do not support this talk been spewed by Apostle Sulaiman...Gods word is not limited to a book or has he forgotten that the 10 commandment was written on a stone tablet for Moses...so do we say that because the commandment was scribed on a stone tablet then it was done in "error and disregard" I certainly doubt that, after all paper existed during that time.

It is better to say that mobile gadgets can be a source of distraction in church, since you can easily get carried away with the other functions of the phone in church...Abeg it's too early in the week for him to start enforcing personal principles that have no spiritual backing in the bible on people😡😡😡

  10. I agree. I see it as very rude because you will be distracted.

Carry your Bible anywhere you go. My Bible is always in my handbag because you don't know what might happen along the way.

    Pasitor good you are talking

  11. Most churches don't accept it because you might just get carried away.

In my church it's not permitted to sing hymnals or read the bible on your phone but you don't have to put it off and we still you it though before the side-women comes to remind you it's not allowed

However, snapping pictures or making a video is not frowned at.

  14. I disagree with Apostle Suleiman. What Jesus closed was a scroll. I guess he should drop the Bible in its current form and carry a scroll. The should also not use a projector in church .

I agree absolutely. A few times I took my tablet to church. It was distracting. The temptation to do other things with it is there. Yes, the age of technology but truth be said. He just spoke the truth. Its a hard truth.

I've seen where a man was to read from the Bible on his tablet and the battery just died. He had collect Bible from someone. Not nice at all.

  18. But it's not a sin to do online banking in th church yeah???
It's not a sin to trasfer yer tithe innit?

Which bank do you switch off your phone in 2019? Akukuije bank???

Ofcourse you switch off your phone when you get to the Aso Rock so that you don't start snapping photos and recording things that should be censored.

Eve an imbecile should know that.

You lot will be so focused on irrelevant things when the rest of the world has left you in the dust. The same world that you are squeezing those your ugly looking swollen garden egg noses and calling them 'unchristen', 'ungodly'.

  20. I understand that a mobile device is easily a distraction not just in churches but any gathering where it is allowed. However, when Joshua 1vs8 was written, it wasn't in a book. Its technological advancement that put the bible in one book. The issue isn't where you read the word of God from but the distraction when we allow mobile device in our churches. Let us not relate it to reverence at all. If you bring the original inked letters of Paul in their scrolls to church and you get carried away by other things you see in church, you do not revere God either. If we needed to shun technological advancement in churches, that's an argument on its own. No bible verse has asked us to shun growth. We only need to always strike a balance, know when to put anything that distracts us from our goal away, in this case, the mobile device and a whole lot of other distractions. Putting fear in people because you want them to conform to your standards is wrong.

  22. I disagree with you pastor, I read my Bible from my phone in church. I make sure I turn off my data connection before going to church.

  23. I'm 100% with you on this sir. And God bless you more for voicing out. I even left a particular Reedemed church branch just because the pastor always read the word of God from his ipad. My spirit couldn't swallow it, so i left for other branch where the pastor reads the word of God from his bible. Yes, I have iPhone and tab but never go to church with them. I only go to church with my bible and my mobile phone just in case of emergency. Doesn't make me a righteous person but my mind and spirit is settled by so doing.

But I think you should leave that church.
      Oh yes!
Find a church where the Bible is being read on stone.
And I hope you and your pastuuur does not wear suit and such modern garments to church.

You lot should be wear floor length robes and a crown of ashes.

  24. I disagree sir. Mobile gadgets get the relevant scriptures faster. This is only man fighting technology because of his background. In 10years time this argument will be useless because those that read the bible in hard form will have drastically reduced. I am sure most if not all Ministers in technologically advanced world, will find this argument irrelevant. That was how some churches started out criticizing television, today they are on television. Just evolve with time and focus on more serious things.

If its distracting don't take your phone
