Lassa fever epidemic has hit an all time high in Nigeria and Nigerians have been put on alert by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC....

    Hi Stella,

    An infected person can transmit Lasa Fever to another person. The disease isn’t only spread via rats and rat droppings/waste.

    It would be great if you include a link to NCDC’s statement, or, if you could list the symptoms and modes of transmission for Lasa Fever so people have a better sense of what to look out for. Also, it would help others get more information— if needed.

    If you are in Nigeria, and you’ve never gotten a vaccine for Yellow Fever, then you should go and get one. I understand that NCDC also put out an advisory last year.

    These diseases are fatal, but completely preventable, let’s prevent them.
