Veteran Actress Ann Njemanze Talks About The Cartel In The Movie Industry

It is believed that there is a cartel in the movie Industry that dictated who got what roles and who made it to the silver screens.

A lot of up and coming actors often complained then that no matter how hard they worked , their efforts were never enough except they had a godfather or godmother to clear the way for them.

A veteran in the industry, Ann Njemanze, has some good news. She told
Sunday Scoop that the cartel in Nollywood had been dismantled.

Listing some of the highlights of the industry over the years, she said, “ I know that Nollywood has employed a lot of people; that is the major one. Also, the cartel in the industry has been broken and that is beautiful. Now, it is easier for actors to rise to the top of their careers through hard work and creativity. I am happy that the current actors are able to do the things they are doing with the resources that they have because indeed, there are a lot of challenges. You should not compare us to Hollywood because they have more resources than us and they have been in existence for a longer time.”

Rubbishing the notion that the industry mostly makes substandard films, Ann said, “Every industry has its bad eggs and every industry has its growing period, during which it develops its style and techniques. Given the circumstances we are working in, I think we are doing great.”

  1. She's majorly telling the truth. When people try to compare Nollywood to Hollywood, I just laugh and see them as ignorant. The kind of money and sponsors that are available to Hollywood movies can make miracles happen, also Hollywood has been around for so long.
Nollywood may not be perfect but they are making do with what they have, and a lot of them tell our stories that are peculiar to us. I watch and support them a lot cos they are very entertaining.

  2. To say Nollywood has grown over the years can't be over emphasized, the undying spirit of the actors is top notch. A lot of them left their jobs, families and businesses and focused solely on movie production that alone is sacrifice that should be appreciated.

There are cabals in all sectors, ability to break or jump such hurdles in all spheres is important.

Beautiful woman, I love your hairstyle

    1. Lies, she’s not proud. It was the accident that slowed her career. She was in wheel chair for years. If she’s proud as you claim why would she marry that broke ass man after she recovered from the accident .
