MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE

Learning Disorder- Dyslexia

Dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that can cause problems with reading, writing, spelling, math and comprehension. Dyslexia affects areas of the brain that process language. It is important to note that while dyslexia affects learning, it is not a problem of intelligence.

Children who have it are often smart and hardworking, but they have trouble connecting letters they see to the sounds those letters make.

Signs of dyslexia usually become apparent when a child starts school and begins to focus more on learning how to read and write.

A person with dyslexia may read and write very slowly, confuse the order of letters in words, put letters the wrong way round (such as writing "b" instead of "d"), have poor or inconsistent spelling, understand information when told verbally but have difficulty with information that's written down, finds it hard to carry out a sequence of directions, struggle with planning and organisation.

They are often talented in art, drama, music, sports, mechanics, story-telling, sales, business, designing, building, or engineering, learns best through hands-on experience, demonstrations, experimentation, observation, and visual aids, they can be class clown, trouble-maker, or too quiet, extremely disorderly or compulsively orderly.

Dyslexia risk factors may include : having a family history of dyslexia or other learning disabilities, low birth weight or premature birth, exposure to drugs or infection that may affect brain development during pregnancy,

Psychological intervention can be used in the management of dyslexia; designing educational programs for parents and teachers.

*Excuse me!!!....This one too falls under mental health?ARE YOU SURE?????

MRS DEES CORNER
CRAZY THINGS THE YOUTHS DO

One Sunday morning, our assistant pastor testified on how God saved his first son from kidnappers. The young man who had just finished his service year and waiting to be gainfully employed left home one sunny afternoon without telling anyone how long he would be gone or where he was going.

When the mum came back from work and asked where the eldest son was, no one could give a precise answer. His number was dialled but the voice prompt said it was unavailable.

Evening came and he was still not back. The father was also notified and apprehension set in. Past midnight and he was yet to be reached on phone. The father called the senior pastor and some church members and intercessory prayers were set into gear. The hypertensive mum couldn't stop crying on how the enemy wanted to destroy her joy by taking away her son. It was a long night and when it was daybreak, an official report was filed at the police station.

In the late hours of that morning, he sauntered into the full house of concerned friends and family with worry clearly etched on their faces.

Everyone was elated and relieved. When he was questioned, he said he was kidnapped but couldn't remember anything. He mentioned he went to meet his classmate who was visiting Lagos and had called him for them to see. The last thing he remembered was crossing the road to meet her only to wake up in an incomplete house, lying on the floor. He came out walked to the nearest bus station and came home. The church gave a thunderous applause and glorified God.

When we got home after church service, I started up a conversation with hubby on how God saved this young man, but he said he didn't believe he was kidnapped. He pointed out loopholes that everyone turned a blind eye to because of joy and excitement. How come nothing on him was stolen;his phone, money? He was not bound when he woke up nor was he manhandled and beaten . Hubby said he feels the guy wanted to have a good time with his girlfriend and since his parents would not tolerate the idea of bringing a girl home not to talk of spending the night outside, he decided to pull the kidnap stunt.

I did not want to imagine the bad that could have happened to his mum because of a little moment of fun and pleasure.

Your hubby might be wrong....He could have been hit by a car and........................erm erm erm *side eyes*...Well your hubbys theory might be right or wrong....

COMMENT SECTION

I'm from a poor family of 9, married to a hard working guy that doesn't earn much. We are blessed with 3kids. We are not rich but comfortable.
Hubby sends money monthly to my widowed mom who is in the village but she never appreciates the little hubby sends to her.

Fast forward to last year December, my lil bro that stays with me said he needed money to enroll for his WAEC..so hubby shared his December salary into 2 and gave half of it and kept half of it for our feeding. So when we traveled to the village, we went to visit my mum. When we were leaving hubby dashed my mom 7k and told her he would hear from him soon.

That she should manage it.. Only for my mum to call me the next day and said she didn't check the money before we left that she would have given him back the money, that hubby insulted her by giving her such amount of money.

I got angry and called her ungrateful only for her to call my siblings and told them I insulted her and told them to stay away from me and hubby.

Bv what do y'all suggest I do?

Should I stay on my own or call to apologize?

Pls forgive my typos. NB:I'm doing a little business to support hubby and the profit is not much.

*Leave them and dont apologise to anyone you hear?maybe the time apart will make them appreciate the little help they used to get from your husband...Use the quiet time to build your home and stay happy.....At the end of the day, being a child doesnt mean you owe your parents anything

Bv with ungrateful mom. Call your mom, apologize to her for calling her ungrateful. If I were you, I wont take her seriously or let anything she says or does affect me negatively. I'll only do that which I should and can do.. Your mum is probably old and you know how these old people can be annoying sometimes. I'm not trying to make excuse for her, but just try and be patient with her.

    4. Bv olive k I appreciate how you expressed yourself to me via WhatsApp and also all the evidence you provided....finally you said you ported from GLO to Airtel on a GLO sim and provided the GLO number as your airtel number since you ported to airtel so the number did not change

I sent the order for airtel data to your number as you indicated it was an airtel number but it got cancelled for every time I sent the command and not even pending or waiting...so I contacted bv beloved and I found out it was a GLO number because the number is still a GLO number even though you ported to airtel and I sent the data order for GLO and it was approved and once it is approved it means the SME data has been sent.......also today during our chat I told you I can’t re send to the number again because if I put it for airtel it gets cancelled but for GLO it gets approved and you said you have not received the data which I believe and do not doubt from the evidences you provided

So I asked for an mtn number so I can send you the data because I have been paid for it,so it’s only fair you get the data...and you said it is just your WhatsApp number as you browse with airtel and you say it is okay..

The reason for this lengthy explanation is to explain the circumstance behind why some are yet to receive or see their data that has been paid for in full...

Bv epistle gang pls try and contact me or beloved so we can sort this out also with others that are yet to receive from this recent batch please πŸ™πŸ½

Irrespective of where they come from or how good or bad people perceive them to be.

    2. I celebrate you too😘

To your question, you can't judge a person by the characters found in his entire village. Mba nu! That will be fallacious.. hasty generalisation!

You only have business with the character of that individual. So focus on that.

      That being said...IHN ndewo✌✌

Rather put the monthly upkeep aside and save it for 6 months. Once her brain has reset, send it to her. I had to teach my dad this lesson. He never appreciated anything we did and after the last straw I refused to speak with him. When he was ready to see reason, I reached out to him. You are an adult with your own home now. She wants an in-law that would be building houses for her and Co, if ur other siblings husbands are doing well, then she should concentrate on them and leave you and ur husband. Don't apologize to her or ur siblings. There are people who are born without parents or siblings and they are still alive. Don't allow ur ungrateful mother to bring problems between you and ur nice husbands coz the fact he tries to give her from the little he has, shows he is a nice person. Abeg enjoy ur marriage.

Chebe and karkar doesn't grow hair as I earlier wrote. Never mind those videos you see in the internet. It's just for quick sales. I don't want to do a full exposΓ©, so I'll just leave it at this.

Andrea 3-in-1 etc., won't make your hair grow any faster than it's supposed to. Hair products are basically to help for easy maintenance/management, not for hair growth. Any product with claims to fast growth is a sham.

Currently my 4c hair is at 15inches. I achieved this with patience, proper hair care, plus series of trial and errors...and not with any "magical" product.

What specific hair issue do you have?

    Cheers!

    1. wow, 15 inches! I'm jealous! hehehehehe.

      specific hair issues? let's see....
When i first went natural, i truly enjoyed the transitioning period as i was very creative with styling my hair. I had just 1 child then so it was easy to take time out to braid or twist all by myself. Had my big chop mid 2015, had my 2nd child in November same year & LOST more than half of my hair in January 2016. I still can't explain what happened as the hair around the centre of my head just started breaking off at will. I went ahead & got a low cut around 2017 (just to even out the hair) & the same issue still persists. The hair around the perimeter of my head is quite full & thick but the hair at the very top of my head is short and not full at all. I have a very tender scalp so going to the hairdressing salon is out of it for me. If i don't make it myself, i get my younger sister to do it for me.

Every hair product i've tried just doesn't work for me but works well on my girls. their hair is quite long, health looking & all natural.

    4. Hi Ron
From your description, you probably had post partum hair loss. This is usually dramatic - which explains why you didn't know what or how it happened. Some women recover from it within few months to 1 year or more, while some almost never recover.

Can't promise you any magical product, but I'd recommend this cheap old under rated hair cream - virgin hair fertilizer. It's a staple in my hair care. Get it, and incorporate scalp massage to your hair regimen. Using a little quantity, massage it around your problem spot. You could do daily massages or every other day. You may read about the wonders of scalp massage during your free time.

Do it consistently...and with patience, time, your hair would grow out strong and fine again. Remember, there's no fast lane. Patience does it.

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers!

  40. Mrs Dee your husband is right. My neighbor also pulled same stunt with his parent. He told his parents he entered one chance bus.
Comment section poster stella is so right, give your mum space.
I don't know what's wrong with youths of this generation with the use of drugs. My sister's friend is currently missing and everyone is worried about him. Towards end of last year he was calling different friends with different stories asking for money. When my sister told me I knew he was lying to get money from his friends, my sister had been trying to reach him since January but could not get through to him. She called me yesterday that a course mate of theirs put up his missing poster.
In their final year he started taking tramadol so I'm thinking he got into trouble with his drug suppliers while in service that was why he kept on asking his friends for money . I only pray he's found alive

For the woman with a funny mother, please don't let her kill your marriage because of her needs. If you are not married, won't they all survive. Do what you can do and don't let her blackmail get to you. God is the rewarder of everything and He sees your heart and that of your husband. If she wants to be ungrateful, face your front and spend your money on your home.

  61. Why should a mother expect so much from a son In-law? What kind of entitlement mentality is that ? Instead of her to be concerned about how you and the kids feed and survive. If she and your siblings decide to stay away from you, better for you. You would manage the little your hubby makes, that is when she would feel your impact.

  62. On the blocked Fallopian tubes. My sister in-laws opened hers 3 years ago and a month later she was pregnant with a set of twins and last year she had another girl. It works if you go to the right hospital and with God all things are possible.
