European Union Again Hits Google With A 10-Figure Fine

The European Commission has just fined Google nearly $1.7 billion for abusing its dominance of search ads to make life difficult for its competitors.

This is the third massive fine in the last two years.

In June 2017, the Commission fined Google about $2.7 billion, and in summer 2018 it imposed a fine of about $4.8 billion for other forms of anti-competitive behavior.

This marks a new willingness of European regulators to intervene against big tech companies -- and some American politicians want to follow in Europe’s footsteps.

From Washington Post

  1. Google, Facebook are dangerously big now that they can affect the economy. Everything online is wrapped around google.
To be seen you have to worry about google’s algorithm to be on the first page of google.
Facebook gats almost everyone’s data, except you don’t have an account or the app.

Guess it’s high time they curb these tech giants.

  2. they should take it easy with google nah... see the amount they charge as fine. even lucifer has never charged this amount before.

ok I know, there is gonna be checks and balances in a competitive market. these tech giants can often bully the new comers and exploit the system. rationing may be a great tool here..

  3. Haba! Make them pity google now
