Footballer Mikel Obi Talks About The Security Situation In Nigeria....

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has sent a strong message to President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government regarding the security situation in the country.

He spoke in reaction to the kidnap and release of the mother of fellow Super Eagles star, Samuel Kalu.

“I called Samuel when his mother was kidnapped and gave him my advice as someone who has been through it twice. I knew how he would be feeling. I was glad when his mother was released because you don’t want anyone going through that.

“I suppose these things happen every day with different families and obviously we want to see the authorities take more responsibility, but Nigeria is a very crowded place and you can’t manage the security.

“You go out and you don’t know if you will come back. The government needs to look into it and they can do more,” Mikel said on BBC World Service’s Sportsworld.

  1. Security lapses in Nigeria is a thing of concern. I weep for this nation seriously. Just last week a UNIZIK lecturer was killed at Enugu by marauding Fulani herdsmen and up till this moment no single arrest of the perpetrators has been made. They keep walking freely and the media houses are doing little or nothing on the reportage of this Fulani herdsmen menace in the society.

  2. Take your families out of this shithole if you can.The government will do nothing for you,why will they when they feed on the rot in the system. If you have the means, once you leave this country, come for families because so long as they remain here any week you sign a deal abroad, kidnappers will come for them;this is Nigeria, stop parking your cars at owner's risk.

    1. Right! Let's all leave the country. That's a way to solve the issues and make things better. 😕
