Lawmaker Shot Dead......

The lawmaker representing Akinyele/ Lagelu federal constituency in Oyo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Temitope Olatoye, is dead.

Olatoye, who was shot by some suspected political thugs on Saturday, was pronounced dead at the University College Hospital (UCH).

DAILY POST gathered that Olatoye, who lost the National Assembly election to return to the Senate two weeks ago, had voted at his Alape village in Ward 13 Lagelu local government area before he was shot.

He was rushed to the hospital immediately he was shot.

The news of the lawmaker’s death was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mr. Toye Akinrinlola, Saturday evening.

Olatoye, who left behind aged mother and father, had last year dumped the ruling APC and joined the Action Democratic Party (ADP) where he flied the party’s ticket in the election held on Saturday 23rd February. He later lost to Senator Teslim Folarin of the APC.

He died at about 7.45 pm after doctors failed to resuscitate him.

Akinrinlola said that the lawmaker did not survive the gunshot.

He said, “There is nothing to hide about it, he is dead.

“He was brought in unconscious, because he was sot in the eye, but he is dead.”

  1. My heart bleeds for this country right now. Look at how APC threw the path Goodluck Jonathan followed and laid down to us in 2015 to the wind because of greed. Again I blame our constitution alot at this point. If a lawmaker goes home with 75k a month, a Senator goes home with 100k a month, A governor goes home with 150k a month and the president goes home with 200k a month, this do or die mentally of Politicians will stop. @Blessed Princess

  3. Karma is a bitch. live by the gun and die by the gun. Turn by turn, your turn has come. Rest in pieces. I don't pity u at all. Your family will feel the same pain that the families of all the people you killed in Abeokuta felt.

  9. Most of these so called repented politicians were deadly , but as soon as they embrace power, they try to clear their past mess, forgetting that some of their victims affected directly or otherwise have not forgotten ,but waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Dem full Lagos, when their own time come , e go happen, no matter how dem barricade themselves with security. Na Sidon look we dey.

  12. Sugar was a killer too. He has wasted so many lives during his student day, as opc member before he became a politician. He was a hitman for OGD in Ogun state, he knew about the death of Dipo Dina.
He has become do deadly to those that groomed him so he has to be cut short.
That's the gain of dirty politics.

Those that know better than him wasted him..
