That feeling of impending doom or waiting for the other shoe to drop is common with people suffering some form of post traumatic stress disorder. It's your mind playing tricks on you. It's hard to sympathise with Toke because of her antecedents.

One day she's getting all holy and religious, the next day she's encouraging one-night stands and kissing random strangers, another day she's contradicting her stance on closure and moving on, the next day she's " tapping" into the marriage of a friend and "jokingly" asking to be hooked up. From insinuating that she's in love to openly flirting and wanting cute guys, then back to the foot of the Cross. Even angels on assignment will be confused as to which blessings to deliver at any given time.

Unless you still link your happiness to another human being or a specific occurrence, being happy and in a place of peace shouldn't be scary because it all depends on you. But if you feel your happiness depends on having a good man or the success of your business, then good luck with that. Toke appears not to know what she wants and she tries too hard to appear happy and in a good place. She needs to stay off the grid and away from public scrutiny. No premature celebrations until it all works out.

While I don't agree that she has to be married before she can be truly happy. Baby girl for life needs a good man because she is that girl. It is clear from the comments she makes that she's the lovey dovey kinda gal, and there's nothing wrong with that. Saying that a good man is not a necessity but a luxury she can't afford, is a defence mechanism used hide the fact that the loneliness is getting to her and makes it seem being alone is her choice. Clearly it isn't. Having a good man is a Lady's right only if she knows her worth and believes she deserves a good man. I feel like giving her a good hug and telling her all will be well in due season.
