Husband And Wife Slander Each Other In Court And Ask Judge For Divorce...

The Accusations against the women are always the same when men want a divorce...................

Oja Oba/Mapo Court C Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State has adjourned till May 9, a divorce suit brought before it by a woman, Ruth Michael against her husband, Anina Michael.

Ruth who dragged her husband to court accused him of monitoring her movement and owing her a meaningful amount. She added that he was in the habit of packing his belongings and moving out of the house any time they have misunderstanding.

She, as a result prayed the court to put an end to their relationship. Ruth further appealed to the court to grant her custody of their two children in other that she might give them adequate attention.

“My lord, I’m not ready to stay a minute longer in marriage with my husband. I’ve had enough of his irresponsible lifestyle and can’t put up with him any longer.

“This is the fourth month of the year and I have not received a dime from him as feeding allowance. He has refused to make provision for my welfare and that of our children. He doesn’t care about our survival because he knows I will always make available what to eat and also provide other necessary things.

“He intentionally comes home late every day to avoid being asked money for the upkeep of the home. Our quarrel is mainly hinged on this. After arguing and shouting at each other, he will beat me to a pulp. Satisfied with hitting me, he will pack his belongings and move out of the house. This practice has gradually become a habit,” Ruth said.

“He’s jealous and falsely accuses me of having illicit affair with other men. As a result, he took to monitoring my movement. Any time he sees me in the company of the opposite s#x, he gets mad and fights me.

“I once came to his aid when his business nose-dived and secured a loan on his behalf from a microfinance bank. My lord, he refused to make a refund of this loan thus leaving me to bear the burden of paying it back.

“I pray the court to enforce it that he pays me back my money. But above all, I desire that the court puts a halt to our relationship today and put our children in my care.

“I further appeal to the court to rule that he allows me to move all my belongings from his house and caution him on harassing or fighting me in my new apartment, work place or the public, “she concluded.

Anina while responding when the claims were read to him agreed to divorce.

He stated that:”My lord, I’m also ready to part ways with my wife before she kills me. She’s adulterous and hops from bed to bed. The stories of her escapades have filled my ears. She intentionally stays back in shop in order that she might attend to her lovers. I don’t want her to cut short my life by infecting me with STDs.

“I have warned her to desist from this indecent lifestyle but she has refused to listen to me being a disobedient person.

“She lied against me. I don’t owe her a dime. What I did was to stand as a surety for her, ”he said.

Ruling after listening to the duo, the court president, Chief Ademola Odunade stated that more evidence would be needed.

Ruling, he adjourned the case till May 5, and ordered both parties to come with more proof.

  1. You don't want her to infect youu with STDs and when there's a disagreement, you move out. To where? With who?

  2. another Tonto and Churchill in a making.

  3. Rate of divorce so high these days. All point to end of time, as scripture says; Marriage is sacred; God hates divorce.

  4. You dont give her money and just because hunger hasn't killed her, you think she is an ashawo.

    1. Seriously. This is so annoying. He doesn't want her to infect him with std but he eats from the proceeds of adultery and another man is feeding his children. I wish I could give him an e-slap.

  5. Useless men everywhere
They will not provide upkeep for the home and when you manage to get by they accuse you of sleeping around.
