Dr. Christopher Ikechukwu Odezulu was recognized on Monday May 13,2019 by Rice University as the first African and the third black to get a PhD from the prestigious Geology department, Rice University. Houston Texas.
He was also the first to combine the professional masters/executive masters with a PhD.
He was a lecturer at the geology department, University of Nigeria, Nsukka before going to Florida State University for masters in environmental geology and then Rice University where he bagged the third masters and a PhD in Sedimentology and Stratigraphy.
