Saturday In House Gists - The Never Ending Visit

Let us talk about visitors that visit for one reason or the other and refuse to leave ...

lets discuss how to handle their excesses and how you got the one who visited you to leave after their visit expired....

Someone comes to stay with you and they say it is just for a week and its been one year and they are still staying with you and you still don't know how to tell them to leave.....

Some ask to stay for a month and before the month is over, their clothes in the room is already more than yours......They don't bring money for food but eat more than you that provides the food, some are so loud that you cant deal..

Some are nice and try to make up for their stay but their time to stay has expired...How do/did you deal with someone like this? How did you get them to leave?Or are they still 'visiting'?

Some of the visitors that refuse to leave might even be reading....
Please if you are one, cant you not see that your host wants you to leave? Why do you pretend like you don't know?

I have never had an unwanted guest cos if you are not family, then i put you in a hotel for the SHORT time you are visiting.....

guest/host corrected....Thanks oh #queenofgbagaun

  1. People that visited me always leave at the time they said they will leave. I haven't experience a guess that stay more than their time. I don't even like staying in someone's house more than a day or two, for I will start feeling uncomfortable.

  2. One my dad's aunt with spinal problem stayed with us. She was meant to spend a few days then her husband would come take her but this man didn't come.
It was during my js3 break. She stayed til December. She couldn't walk. She'd pee on d bed and try to wash herself in the room. She was saucy and very commanding.
Our luck came when my uncle was getting married and we had to travel. She nagged and nagged that I stay back and take care of her. No way. I was on the bridal train
We travelled, came back and didn't meet her

I wanted to tell her to leave but hubby said I should not.3months later she told me she has gotten a job. Now it's 1year and 2months. It's not been easy but I'm just trying to endure. We will be moving to a new place soon and she's not moving in with us

    3. You are really trying. @Lafresh. Some people self! In this day and age no one can try that with me not after my cousin lived with us for 7 years from coming for service without telling anybody you worked service to Abuja. Very lazy somebody. Will not sweep or mop. Taking out trash for where. Never contributed shishi during the 7 years. Some mothers raised and are still raising lazy asses. He is getting married soon from what I heard. I wish his wife well in advance.

  6. The only time we had a guest like DAT was when a cousin came to pH for an interview, she said its gonna be 3days, after d interview, she started getting into town, d job didnt work out, plus my mom gave her a free hand, did babe will stay out till 9pm, close to a month, my mom warned her that she won't be held responsible if anything happens to her late at night, did babe no listen, the one DAT broke d camel's back was when a man visited her in d night, of course d gateman didn't let him in, he now foolishly tried to cause a scene at DAT odd hour, my mom just woke d girl up, told her to pack n sent her out dat night, she left n we called her parents n gave dem update, that was how she left, till date she didn't go to parents, she's cohabiting with a man, sometimes she'd call for food, I will sneak out raw food to her until d day momsi will catch me 😁😁

She even said my mom asked her to stay which was untrue, she ill treated our domestic staffs ,always lying that she got a call from the presidency etc ,yet she would borrow my hand bag and tell me she had a lot in Jos she just didnt know she would stay , the staffs started disrespecting her cos their employees never treated them badly .
Very crafty woman las Las she left and our peace was restored .

  9. This reminds me of my frienf"s younger sister that used one annoying cunning style to move into my house. Girl finished school and started work and was living with her aunt in Akute. I was living in surulere in a 2 bedroom flat all by my self so apparently she wanted to come and stay with me. However I'm the type of person that like her space. Visitors are welcomed but you must leave after some time. I don't mind you staying 2/3 months but o prefer you tell me from inception and when the shred time comes, you leave quietly.
So this girl started first bubsebding me these "Good morning smses" every day. She then followed with calls ( all of these within a space of 1 montus). One Sunday, she called that she wanted to visit. I waited all day long I didn't see her. Evening I told her I was going yo the movies. She told me she was still coming. That she will probably spend the night in my place and go to work from there. I came back from movies, I didn't see her. I called her and she said that she crashed in a friend's place and will see me the next day. I didn't know the silly girl wanted to come in with her clothes and didn't want me get with them. She also begged me to leave the key for her. I did so against my better judgment. I came back home on Monday evening to see the girl installed on my house. She now said that they have training 9n her office that week and she would spend the night in my house Any day it's too late for her to go back to her aunt"s house. That was how guy girl quietly established her self in my house. Once on a while, she will sneak out to her aunt's house and come back with more clothes. One week turned to 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 weeks. The girl showed np signs of going!
If it was just that, I would have tolerated. The girl came 2ith get bad attitude. Very dirty and lazy to the bone. She will remove clothes and speed them st the edge of my chairs in the sitting room. Use my bathing soap and expensive perfumes which I the owner don't even wear to work. I was scandalized. Her boyfriend started visiting (she was a marketer in one of the banks and mostbdays would stay home instead of going to work) eat up my foid and would disappear before i come back. A friend of mine who was also staying with me at that time gave me a little hint about the boyfriend visits. I confronted her and told her the boy should only visit weekends when I'm around. She started keeping malice with her and will sing annoying songs for the girl.
The last straw that broke the camel's back was the day I came back from work unexpectedmy on the morning to pick up a document i forgpt and saw the gorl strooling out of yhe bstheoom reeking of my soap. I went on to investigate and found out that she actually used my sponge. I was livid. I confronted her and she tried to deny and I showed her the evidence. She then made one nasty comment and the and then I ordered her to pack her things and get pit of house immediately. She thot I was joking. I opened eyes for eyes and she told me to give her till evening but I refused
She packed her things, and went outside. I collected my keys frpm.her. locked my door and went back to work. By the time o came back on the evening, she was gone. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

  10. My dad is like the poster candidate for allowing visitors stay/overstay. He will beg and liase with my mum and she will give in. First when i was much younger there was this Aunt who fell sick and had to stay with us for a while. We even had to vacate one of the rooms for her. My mum would wake up before going to work and mop the room the lady was staying( she had a really stinging smell. I guess from the drugs and medicines being applied) eventually she left when she got better. Then there was another Aunt who was meant to stay a few days and ended up staying seven years. There there is another who was also nursing an illness and stayed 2yrs. These pple who stayed were big gossips, did'nt help much. Am tired of typing. The list is endless I don't know how my mum did it considering these pple werr all from my dads side. But she says it was all for my dad and for God sake. I don't think i can . Nobody should overstay their welcome abeg. Mum am.still in awe of u!

  11. It was a friend in school, she was squatting with me. My problem was that whenever she receives money from home or from her old boyfriend she wouldn't buy food or any of the things that we need in the room, like toiletoeirs and other things. I on the other hand was receiving money from one source (my granny) and the money I was receiving wasn't even up to hers. I'd buy food for both of us to eat and she'll still help me use my toiletories plus wear my small clothes I was managing oo. Her money was for her hair and one boyfriend she had on campus. I got tired and wrote her a note, left it inside the drawer on her side of the bed. When I met her on my way to school while she was coming from her school bf's place I told her to check her message inside the drawer. The message read: I can't continue to stay with someone that calls herself my friend but only drains me. All your money you use it in your hair and clothes, you don't buy anything in the house and sometimes we go hungry when you have the money. Please find another place to stay, I give you a month to look for a place.

That was how I got back to the room and my friend had left my room oo. She went to stay with her cousin and the cousin was like...ohh B now I have to face this woman againπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    2. You made me remember my friend. In school I was in three hundred level. My friend would come and occupy my 6 spring bed when I go out to read and come back by say 12am to 1. I didn’t like sharing my bed so I would take a mat and spread on the floor to sleep. She would use my towel 😭😭😭 I would end up using my wrapper till I wash the towel. People who know Onitsha and know Walik’s shop I can’t remember the second shop but they were reigning then @ main market. I would buy clothes from those two shops during the holiday and manage till another holiday by removing those clothes immediately I come back from lectures. This girl would take my clothes and wear the whole day chai I would be crying in my mind. I really endured. I wasn’t as vocal as I am now back then. The ASUU was on strike, this girl stayed in my house 3 months and I didn’t know where she lived. Those three months didn’t matter because I was home alone in Abuja then and my mom was glad I had company. I hear nwi sha. She did something and I totally cut her off for a year till she apologized. Even today we are not as close as before.

He finally got a job and was going to work from my ex' house, the most annoying was that he wasn't paying any bill in the house and refused to even buy groceries for the house. Dude was stingy af. Him and his girlfriend that also started living with him in the guest room.

  16. Mine happened recently. I met her in church, we became acquainted. One time she told me she was looking for a flatmate cos she was living in a 2 bedroom flat alone and she couldn't afford to pay the rent alone, so I asked her how she was able to rent the house in the first place and she said it was her fiancee that lived abroad that rented the house and they were having issues. So... Sometime in November she called saying she just wanted to keep her bed and bed stand in my house pending when she gets a new apartment and I obliged, later she called to say she wanted to spend 2 weeks with me while looking for an apartment, I agreed. Later she suggested that we should get a 2 bedroom flat and share I said no! I'm okay paying 100k for my one room self contain apartment. I noticed she wasn't looking for any apartment as she had made me believe, I even got one for her hoping that she was going to respond it was at this point she told me she didn't have any money with her that I should pls accommodate her till next year, I told her my mother wouldn't agree cos she had warned me against accommodating anyone and that I had a bad experience accommodating a friend and that my mother and younger brother was going to come around for Xmas holiday. It was a big struggle for me to let her go but I did what I had to do. She left in Dec and she still hasn't gotten a place of her own till now. I'm glad i didn't bulge. You can never satisfy any human. Though... She was nice but you know.... Pple can pretend for as long as they choose to.

  17. My sister in law came for surgery, my husband told me she will stay for 2 months after d surgery. My people two months turned to one year and 2 months, not that she had complications or she is yet to recover, as is that one is not enough he brought his mom and another of his sister again that they are sick and needs treatment on top new marriage... 3 family members and u don't see anything wrong with it, I jejely told him to discharge the one that said she will be staying for 2 months coz its over 14 months, my people he refused oo I had to threaten him with involving people to judge the matter if am being wicked by telling his sister to leave or he is being unreasonable. Our sex life is not as it use to be before these people came, I can cope with your mother and that one is understandable but turning my house to hospital is what I won't take... Not as if we stay in the same state but any of your family member that is sick u will give the person address to start coming. I over heard this one that is still here telling someone on phone that she wont be coming back till after like four years cos she want to tell her brother to find admission for her here since she she has been looking for admission in their state for years without success I just yimu, since I heard that I have been giving her serious attitude that right now she is planning to leave. I won't enjoy my new marriage in peace because of your people.

  18. Don't just start it 'cos you might find it difficult to end.

Mine was a different story all together. I have this big aunty that visits without prior notice. She won't call me and neither will she inform my husband. She won't even come during the day; she usually comes at midnight and she will be banging on the compound gate as if she is the landlady. I tried talking to her to always inform us prior to her visit...for where?? Until one day my husband gave her a serious warning and stopped her from sleeping in our house one fateful night. She told the whole world how we insulted and disgraced her. I just don't give a damn because respect is reciprocal.
She is a control freak and never believe that I will amount to anything. We only talk on the phone once in a while. At times, it's good to take a stand.

  19. One of the worst thing of I have done. Had a friend going through marital issues.. she told me she was going to come stay with me without notice, I accepted bc i didn’t see it as a big deal...although I was a bit surprised bc we weren’t tha close at school. Ok na. She moved in, but was still trying to sort out issues with her husband(infact that one is story for another day).
Girl was full of shit at the end of the day. She basically never did anything till she left my house. Even to organize something for us to eat, she never contributed. Even when my bed got bad, bed we both slept on, she looked away and started sleeping in the sitting room...while I put my foam on the floor to sleep. All these would t have been a problem on a normal day, but I hadn’t been paid at work for months... and she was aware. She made me do these things without volunteering to do anything. Not for one day. I never said anything Cause I don’t know I can be slow like that sometimes.
At the end of the day she left, after she almost burnt the house. Even tho i still believe it wasn’t her fault, she could have acted concerned. I wish I could tell the whole story but she isn’t worth it.
