Former Beauty Queen Regina Askia Advises On Thyroid Issues

Regina Askia Williams,Former Most Beautiful girl in Nigeria turned Registered Nurse in the US posted this very important conversation on Facebook on Wednesday....

Now,so many women may be going through this and suspecting that it is their Village people behind their problems or that they have been poisoned...I am re posting here cos i know someone currently treating Thyroid issues but she initially thought she had been poisoned by her best friend.....

Knowledge is power!!!

All of US 😜, experiencing some kind of hair loss under those lovely wigs, when last did you have your thyroid levels checked? Hypothyroidism is a big issue especially with women over 40 when hormonal changes increase. Hair loss, weight gain, lack of energy etc... just maybe your thyroid.

If your numbers are within normal limits but you are experiencing these symptoms, invest in an over the counter thyroid support supplement. The normal high or normal low will cause these symptoms. You will be amazed. Thank me later 😊!

( Please note - It is vital to take a thyroid panel blood test to know your status. This comment is directed at when your numbers are said to be within normal limits but maybe a little off. Dangerous consequences if you blindly medicate even with over the counters. Let your doctor guide you)

  2. Overuse of wigs itself is enough to cause hair loss. It's not necessarily a thyroid issue.

    2. Very rampant these days, couple of symptoms would be weight loss(if hyperthyrodism), high palpitations of the heart, you get tired easily and sweat more, sometimes heavy flow during menstruation, longer than the usual period of time, infertiltiy, in some cases, ceased flow, bulging eyes, hair loss, your nails get dry and break easily, fatique, feeling heavier than wood, and so much more. How do i know all these? cos i was hyper, now hypo with child birth. But i guess hypo is more tedious to threat than hyper, especially with the weight gain.

It is important to always get checked out, early detection is key, and the ones not detected earlier leads to goitre, which might require operation. God bless my mum for discovering this on time, 10years ago.

  9. Good information. currently treating hypothyroidism, i noticed i was gaining weight rapidly and also being fatigue all the time, i tried so many weight loss diets and supplements but nothing was working, i knew something was wrong because past year if i drink only Lipton for a week i will definitely lose weight. So i had to check with the doctor who recommended i take thyroid function test and boom it was confirmed my thyroid gland is under performing so no matter how much i tried to lose weight it is a waste of time. Thanks SDK for sharing, many women are not aware of this ailment.

  11. Stella, people have been poisoned by their so-called best friends. It happens! That the person you know and posted because of was mistaken, doesn't mean certain things don't happen fgs! Not everything has a logical explanation.

Yes, there might be thyroid issues but if you don't allow your hair breathe, it won't grow. There's a reason that people who always make tiny braids, don't have front hair. It's the pressure they put on the hair that's making it break. Even if everyone in your family has hair long like mammywater and you're very young, there is a way you will treat your hair that you'll end up with something that looks like rat chop.

And please, if you have thyroid issues (meaning you took a test and results indicated so, not that you diagnosed yourself), better get a prescription. Don't go and over the counter anything before you poison yourself. Regina is a trained nurse so will know the limits of certain medication. She is also practising in the US where their laws work; Nigeria isn't the same. My husband owns a specialist clinic and the number of people we've seen come in looking for a miracle, after they have put their lives and health at risk with self-diagnosis and self-medication is really shameful.

  12. My neck is swollen looking like goiter, and I was told it's symptoms of typhoid, I did a typhoid function test and the result shows that it's normal. I wasn't giving any drugs. I was told to use salt with iodine and to keep on repeating the tft (test) once in a while.

I was on medication for years before opting for surgery when there was no improvement.

  14. Yea, this actually killed my sister, she never knew and money issue to visit a good hospital, for like 5years, treating other things, till the swollen neck. It was so bad, we begged her to come home so the family eye can be on her.
We took her to a good hospital, boom! The bad news, the goiter turned cancerous, can't be operated or nothing. Her brain , liver almost all damaged by the drugs and herbs she was taking. We tried our best, but she is resting in the Lord. So thank you Regina for this.

  17. A "registered nurse" in the USA is big news, is a celebrity. But a registered nurse in Nigeria
is an object of ridicule and insults; why?

  18. Iodine is a trace mineral required for the synthesis of thyroid hormones and functioning of the thyroid glands. Iodine, when combined with amino acid, produces thyroid hormones that play a major role in all the physiological functions. Thyroxine T4 and triiodothyronine T3, the two thyroid hormones regulate the metabolism in every cell of the body. This is required for the development of skeletal and nervous system.

Iodine also plays a major role in preventing fibrocystic breast diseases, a condition that causes swelling of the breast tissues. Iodine modulates the effect of the hormone estrogen in the breast tissue, thereby decreasing the swelling. Besides breast fibrocystic diseases, iodine can also prevent health conditions like cognitive impairment, cretinism, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, multiple miscarriages...

  20. Iodine deficiency in the body can bring in various symptoms. They are:

Goiter, or enlargement of the thyroid gland
    Fatigue
    Weight gain
    Weakness
    High cholesterol
    Depression
    Rapid heart beat
    Appetite fluctuations

In our entire lifetime, we need less than one teaspoon of iodine for proper health and development. Since the body cannot store iodine, you need to eat a little bit of it every day. Conversely, excess iodine supplements can cause burning in the mouth, weak pulse, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and even coma in extreme cases. Excess consumption of iodine can also inhibit the synthesis of thyroid hormones, leading to hyperthyroidism, thyroid papillary cancer and iodermia...

  21. Some sources of iodine includes
    Iodized or sea salt
    Leafy vegetables like spinach
    Potatoes

    Beans
    Strawberries etc...

Tips to Optimize the Iodine Levels Naturally:

Try to purchase as much organic food as possible. Wash all the fruits and vegetables thoroughly to clear the pesticides and other chemicals.

Avoid eating and drinking from plastic containers.

Avoid soda and aerated drinks. Drink, pure filtered water instead.

Your personal care products should be as chemical free as possible...

Copied! But I hope it helps...
