  4. Every woman is claiming their backs were stabbed, their backs were stabbed.
    So who does the stabbing????????
A woman invests money in business, she will always talk about her success but never how that money to invest came about.

    4. See who is talking? Mo abudu Kai, the same mo who frustrated so many independent filmmakers? I know how you tried so hard to frustrate Genevieve Nnaji's lionheart while it was showing in the cinemas. You connived with filmone distribution to frustrate Genevieve but y'all won in the cinemas, considering how long they let that scam of your movie stayed in the cinemas, but who won in the long run? Of course Genevieve Nnaji, hate her or like her, she's everything you ever dreamt of in the movie industry. So take your own advice...

    7. Anon 14:24 Swag Lafresh, pick your role models with the help of the Holy Spirit, oh!

Mo Abudu isn't a role model. She does terrible things but will be the first to cry victim. She hypes what doesn't exist. I don't know if she believes her own lies or she deliberately deceives people cos she thinks she's smart. But because of her, Liyel Imoke made a horrible mistake that Cross River State is still paying for. My liver fails me whenever I think about how she deliberately plunged the state into debt by painting a picture she knew she had no intention of delivering with Studio Tinapa. Believe me, you don't want to know the extent of the debt. It's like demons sent her to come and steal from the state.

But Mo Abudu will go to jail in this country & be stripped of all she has acquired for what she did to Cross River State. I don't care how long it takes but I will do whatever is necessary and above board to ensure it happens. Only the Creator of the Heavens and the earth, God Himself will be able to stop me. If she likes, when time reaches, she should do like Diezani and form any sickness wey enter her mind to claim.

    8. She's not my role model o. Na God be my role model

    9. Anon 15:27, if Mo duped a whole state and is still walking freely then I dare to say you all are not serious or even Liyels hands are not clean. One human being will dupe a state and you people haven't been able to do anything after all these years?? I don't believe you

      Delete
    10. Omeh, try not to take this the wrong way but

      1) I don't really care what you believe. You're not a Cross Riverian by blood or by marriage, you don't live in the state; therefore what you think as relates to how things should be done in CRS is irrelevant.

      2) Far be it from me to even seem like I'm defending a politician (and God knows it makes my skin crawl) but Liyel walked into something where he didn't have as much control as he initially thought he did/would. And I'm not just talking about Studio Tinapa. There are/were a lot of other things going on that I can't really talk about. But a lot of men are very presumptuous and can be real stupid at times. For beings that claim to be the more logical gender, they get swayed by the strangest things. Google Elizabeth Holmes & see how many men she deceived with her Theranos thing. Not even one woman was deceived by that.

      3) Mo knew exactly what she was doing from the start. Yes, she had/has backing from some others, else she would never have been able to pull off her scam. She's not going down alone.

      4) The fact that nothing seems to be happening, doesn't mean that nothing will happen or that nothing has been happening behind the scenes. Life isn't a Nollywood film or an American television show where an entire plot plays out in less than two hours. IRL, things take time to come together. Police officers can work and live undercover for years before they get what they need to make a conviction stick. Waist-length hair takes more than 40mins to grow. You can get a job today and not know till next week cos your appointment letter hasn't been posted. You can pass your Masters programme today but 30 days will pass before you're notified, cos admin stuff and you'll be worried for nothing. Some things just take time, even to unravel. I'm sure Biodun Fatoyinbo was shook-ed when Busola spoke up, it's been 20 years. Evans (the kidnapper) must have been shocked when he was arrested.

But y'all need to stop saying "there is always an iota of truth in every rumour". Jacob in the Bible mourned the death of a son that was actually alive in a foreign land. 13. Mo Abudu should not have bothered with this sermon bcos she stands guilty of all the preach. She is ready to destroy anyone who stands in competition with her. People don't really have nice things to say about her when she is mentioned.

    1. People who have worked with her, don't have anything nice to say about her when they're asked the truth. Forget Instagram filters, her reputation in the industry is terrible for a reason. She's a calculative, mean-spirited, money-grabbing, unscrupulous, amoral, deeply insecure woman. You are talking about her being ready to destroy anyone in competition with her; that one is far. Mo can set up someone to fail for minding their own business! The competition is in her mind. Mo that can compete with her own daughter. Mo Abudu that will gladly compete with her own shadow just so she can be seen as the only star in the room?

    2. I totally agree. A lot of beautiful Nigerian female employers are on this your table, I tell you. You forgot to add that they exude acute ARROGANCE and PARANOID tendencies. Their insecurities despite their 'laudable' achievements makes me laugh. All they value is their reputation but CHARACTER means nothing to them. Only black blood flows in them while they plaster silly lipsticks smacks on their well powdered faces. So much for success. Inu kwa quotes.

    ReplyDelete

    1. The reason is that the entertainment industry is fickle everywhere, but in Nigeria it also lacks the structure that is available in the US & the UK. So, many of the people who work with her are afraid of what might happen to their careers if they get on her wrong side. She also has a way of making them feel like they can't exist without her, like she's doing them a favour. So, they develop a form of Stockholm Syndrome.

Look very well at the people who consistently work with her - they're people who are:
      a) genuinely talented but left the industry for a while for whatever reason & want a comeback (think Dakore, RMD, Sola Sobowale, etc)
      b) genuinely talented but needed a platform to give them a first or bigger boost and credibility (think Adesua, Banky, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Bola Olukanni, Toke Makinwa, Toni Tones, etc). This category also includes the IJGBs trying to prove themselves in Nigeria
      c) those with marginal, misdirected or no real talent who want a platform to keep their faces out there (think Ini Edo, Linda Ejiofor, Dorcas Fapson, Chigurl, Eku Edowor, Mimi Onalaja, Sharon Ooja, Jemima Osunde & all the others that look like clones of each other, etc)

Now, if you're in one of these three categories, you might not hesitate to chop sh*t because you're afraid of being blacklisted & not having a career. The entertainment industry isn't for the faint-hearted. And a lot of people get scared that their time will pass if they don't take what they're given as soon as it arrives. Someone like Genevieve won't work for Mo. Not even because Genevieve herself is that fantastic, but because Mo doesn't have anything that Genevieve is looking for that will make her ignore nonsense. Acting, writing, producing, directing, Netflix, awards - Genevieve has done. So, what can Mo offer her that she doesn't already have?

  18. And I learnt she doesn't pay her workers too. Is this true though? Ebony life has to be the worst tv station right now. They used to be so good? Now I see a lot of telenovelas and some really crappy Nigerian shows I really don't quite understand. Are all the reasons stated above the reason why that network is horrible today? Nawa o.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The idea of Ebony Life TV was sold to the public as an Afro-ce tric product, the first of its kind. It's going to difficult or even impossible to be truly Afrocentric if someone is filling airtime with content that's actually foreign or looks foreign, because she's too greedy or too proud to work with content creators who will give Afrocentric content. And everyone around is too afraid or too much of a Yes person, to say the truth. At this rate, Africa Magic is more Afrocentric than ELTV.

Mo thinks of herself as nearly aristrocratic, or at least boojie. So, she's vomitting programmes to fit that delusion. Reality shows whose models she imported, that she's trying to force to be seen as a Nigerian narrative. Saying she's reinventing the wheel. Ms Banana is facing a similar problem with her station - pouring money into things that don't work in this climate for a reason, because everyone must form "wokeness". It's insane, I'm sorry. For instance, a dating show in Nigeria where huge emphasis is placed on marriage & certain assumptions of good breeding? Haba! Where and how are you going to tell your parents you met the person you brought home, please? People will watch the first season or so, for novelty but abandon it because they can't identify with it.

I've said this thing before - there are many facets to the African story but don't try to reinvent something that is working, no need to try to fix what didn't break. Repackage to keep it fresh and appealing, make improvements but leave the substance alone. Technology and talent can always be improved but there's no need to do certain things. Not everyone is an IJGB, so some things can never make sense to the very people she thinks is target market. Even some IJGBs don't identify with the content; if you want to watch oyibo content, you'll watch a real oyibo channel.

Imagine going to a restaurant and they serve you what doesn't look like the Amala you requested but they're bringing you a ridiculous bill, telling you about ambience and lighting of the place. You'll get turned off cos how is that one your business? But that's what Mo is doing & gathering foreign awards that don't mean anything here. Funke Akindele might not have as much money as Mo, but she's not too proud to identify and stick with what works - people can see themselves in the characters she creates. Genevieve with Lionheart, a lot of women can see themselves in the character Genevieve played. That's part of what made "Ije" work. That's why some of us can still remember "Violated", "Rattlesnake", etc. The production quality and even acting skill - na God go help - but these things work because they're familiar, yet new in a way.

  19. Success in the Nigerian entertainment industry doesn't live you with so many friends. In all that I had read here all I hear is jealousy from people who can't play the game at her level.

Let's think about it for a second do you think she got to where she got to by been friends with everyone?

Once you are successful in Nigeria people feel they have a right to dictate how you ought to treat them because at you met them there on the steps towards success and left them at their ordinary level to get to the top.

Most of the people calling for her head should hold the former governor of cross river state responsible for what really happened to Tinapa or was MO Abdul the one you people voted for and as for the other claims that she is ruthless so what if she truely is ruthless... Success is not for the faint hearted and it only goes to those who fight for it.

So you faceless friends of MO Abdul should quit whinning at the bottom and go get the cheese if you feel it truely belongs to you or you guys should shutt up and let her enjoy her success in peace.

There is a reason a pyramid has a pointed top it's to sit the hardest baddest of them all...MO Abdul sits at the top comfortably and all this whinning won't bring her down from it.

    LEP😛

    1. Lol. Nobody who really knows what's up wants to be on Mo's level, or be her friend. Those who think they do, are looking at carefully curated Instagram content. It's one thing to be a shrewd businessperson with very few friends because you're an introvert or whatever; that's admirable. It's an entirely different matter if you're actually a sh*t of a human being, excuse my language.

Liyel Imoke was a fool to walk into a situation & attempt to negotiate from a position where he didn't have the control he assumed he would/did. That is being dealt with, and there are many layers to it. But don't assume for one second that "because Mo Abudu isn't/wasn't a democratically elected representative", she gets to come in, piss everywhere and walk away. Ms Abudu will pay for what she did to Cross River State and make restitution, even if a group of you carries placards to cry about how she's supposedly being victimised "for being successful." If Diezani had been told the same thing beforehand, she for laugh say, "How can? Me?" The amusing thing about Nigeria is that you assume everyone who's not a sycophant, is jealous - especially if they're not flaunting assets. Some of us just don't care about that stuff. Go and mark today's date, your woman crush will go to jail. I don't make certain pronouncements lightly, even in anonymous mode.

Oh and I feel deeply sorry for you if you think that what Mo has or portrays is success.

    2. I agree with you. Business and entrepreneurship or even any Leadership position is not for the faint hearted. I don’t think she applies any business strategies different from what everyone applies world over.

She’s a very ambitious business woman and she’s pushing to ensure her success. Why do we want to knock her for her drive? I’m yet to see any successful businessman or woman who stopped fighting for survival even when they got to the top. What do we think Dangote, Otedola. Allan Sugar, Beyonce. Anna Wintour, even Trump sef do to stay relevant? Even for employees at the top sef, what do y’all to to ensure survival?

I don’t know “gist” but what she has been able to achieve is inspiring.

  21. I have not seen Lionheart but I wish Genevieve Nnaji all the best in her endeavours. I wish Mo Abudu all the best and I wish Funke all the best.

I love when women win and I dislike when women pull each other down. I have never seen a successful woman that they didn't call money hungry bla bla but you need to do what you have to do to keep it moving and winning.

Not everyone likes Genevieve and she is not relatable to most but she is winning.

    I am for women winning.
