Shiites React To FG’s Move To Proscribe IMN

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has said that it is absurd for the Federal Government to proscribe the group.

IMN, popularly known as Shiites, declared its position through their spokesman, Ibrahim Musa.

According to Musa, leading members and lawyers are currently studying the court order.

“As regards the court orders proscribing the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, for now, the movement hasn’t reached a decision.
“The leading members and lawyers are studying the court order and very soon, they will issue a way out for the movement.

“But we believe we are the victims of all that has been happening so it is very unfortunate that a group that has not retaliated, all the killings it has suffered under the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, it will now be accused of being a terrorist group,” Musa told Channels TV.

He also insisted that the group and its members, despite the attack on them, have not killed anybody.

“Have you ever seen a terrorist group that one-third of its members have been killed and they haven’t killed anybody?
So it is absurd we believe, for the Federal Government to take this step of proscribing the IMN,” Musa added.

The Federal Government had obtained an order from the Federal High Court in Abuja, proscribing the movement after series of protests.

  1. Good move, stop them before they stop you like BH

    1. It is a wrong move. This was how BH started due to injustice.Think of what will happen should the group decide to take up arms against the state.we have too many security issue in Nigeria.we should be thinking of resolution rather than getting more enemies for the country.I am based in Abuja,I have seen them protest,a stitch in time saves Nike people say.Let us jaw jaw and not war war.we want peace in Nigeria.

    2. O my world! It's "a stitch in time saves Bola". Autocorrect, Weldone o.

    3. It's advisable to not negotiate with terrorists.

  2. They need to have labelled them a terrorist group long before now.
It's the best move to proscribed them.

  3. they are having a slice too not just IPOB

  4. When it was IPOB, everybody kept quiet.

    Now it's their turn.

Eventually, it will reach all of us.

    Sai Buhari

  5. If the government pursue these guys underground, then OYO is our name ooo!!! We will regret this PMBs decision.
