ReplyDeleteI have this friend that told me her son's teacher told her that her son is going to repeat pri nursery.. She said that's not possible that even her husband is against it and has threatened to change him school if he must repeat.
What do you guys advice?
Why should'nt the son repeat if he can't meeet up? To repeat a child is not a death sentence! It could be of so many benefits to the child, instead of dragging him to a class he cannot keep up with. Tell her to have a discussion with her husband on why the child should. Am sure the reacher would have outlined the reasons.

ReplyDeleteSad story but I think someone might learn from it, a lady in my area lost her 8 months old daughter, she said the baby was stooling and she 'assumed' it would stop before morning. Unfortunately, the baby died last night. Now, her husband's people are already packing her belongings out blaming her for engaging in witchcraft because according to them, what kind of mother sits and watch their child stool to death...
She's a first time mom and I feel she was probably just naive🤷
Feeling so sad for her. May God fix her home n also give her the strength to overcome. Stooling is v risky for babies. May God help us.. I am also a first time mom

DeleteMothers should know that stooling especially when it's constant and watery is very dangerous. If vomitting is included then that is double dangerous.
My baby has had this issue of stooling and vomiting for upto 3 times and in all the occasions, I ran to the hosptal immediately. Also, oral drip should be administered as a first aid treatment instead of just doing nothing.
So sorry for your loss dear.
May God give her strength as she goes through this tough time. Her in-laws are wicked. They have just been waiting for her to sneeze so they could jump into action. It’s not the time to apportion blame. Frequent stooling can kill adults too easily if you don’t replace lost fluids.

DeleteThere is an advert that used to air on NTA way back that has stayed with me till now.
Its a simple DIY preparation of ORS using clean boiled water, 5 cubes of sugar and I think 2 level teaspoons of salt.
Stir together and boom, you have ORS in a bottle.
Perfect for rehydration in cases of stooling and vomiting.
Every mum should have zinc tablets and oral drip therapy. It happens mostly evening..before morning a child get dehydrated. Even adults gets so uncomfortable when purging. These i mentioned above is just forst aid. You need to go and see what is causing the strolling. Snd get drugs for it. May God help us all

Didn't want to get into details on why I resigned but it was mostly because there are some standards of teaching I can't fall below. Being a teacher, my major priority are those kids, whether they are in my class or not.
The moment I saw them toying with their education, just because u wanted to employ people that u would pay even less peanuts that they are paying us, that moment I decided I couldn't cope.
This particular one (when I thought it was just small errors here and there) , I started helping him patch his mistakes (my error). The day I realised that he just wasn't fit to be a teacher, I complained. But nothing was done.
Then the victimisation started.
Anyways, I resigned because I didn't want it to get to a level whereby I'd physically insult my boss. She was already irritating me too much.
And for the ever doubting thomases, I really dunno what part of my story wasn't clear. I resigned on Friday, planned to rest for a week before searching again. Rested on Monday (perfect feeling), then on Tuesday, I realised I just couldn't do it.
So I went out yesterday to schools. With my level of experience and my good spoken English (lol), e no hard me at all. Now I just have to decide which I want.
Leaning towards a start up school, lesser salary than what I'm being offered elsewhere but I just wanna work with them. I really want the challenge. Want to see how I can help grow the school. Abi, wetin una think?

ReplyDeleteSo I went to Oshodi yesterday, when i wanted to board a bus, I was answering call when the conductor gave me my balance of #50 so while putting it inside my bag, the money fell on the ground as I bend down to pick it, a boy of about 14 years old , picked the money, I asked him to give me my money and the guy replied me saying he picked the money from the ground not from my pocket. Before I will say Jack Robinson the boy ran away. I was so shocked and suprised. I am not going to Oshodi again anytime soon.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sad right now, a lady in my street died of shock.. Her husband left her for another woman, she collapsed when she found out and died last night.. My God, if this lady makes ten sentences nine is about how her husband adores and love her, how she married the best man on earth, who doesn't stare at another woman.. My husband, my husband all the time, see where it landed her.. The last conversation we had, this lady practically told me I'm jealous of her home,because of the love between she and her husband, because she noticed I hardly talked about my husband, that means I must be frustrated in my marriage, I just laughed and said I don't carry my husband on my head, because men are unpredictable for my sanity sake.. Now she's gone, the useless man even did court wedding with the other lady.. She left 4 wonderful kids behind..

Deleteit stopped doing house chores when I birthed my 2nd kid...got a help(come and go),I tried my best possible to b nice to this girl, gv her stuffs at times and feeding normal. God knows I treated her like a younger sister. I dont deprive her of food. she takes home at times, only for her to come to work on Monday and on Tuesday she called that she is sick. I know story has entered, my hubby said I should go and visit her as she's sick, I decided to wait till next day only for her to call that she got a job elsewhere. I was sad but what pained me was that I told her initially to give me advance notice before leaving. I'm so pained .no matter how nice u are to pple , they will always do what's on their mind.

DeleteGood morning bvs, for the child that was asked to repeat pre-nursery,I will advice the mother to visit the school and have a talk with her child's teacher. Find out the areas where the child is lacking behind, ask if the child would be promoted if the child does well after a term in pre nursery, reason is that the child must be able to identify letters, put them together using their sound and pronounce it at that stage,depending on the curriculum the school uses.
ReplyDeletePre nursery helped my kids so well as my kids at 4years could write notes and letters to me....Do not forget to speak what you want to see into their lives using the scriptures cos it bears fruits..
Good morning Stella, I saw the question about what one will do with 50K late.
ReplyDeleteI would like you to know that I will use it to buy a fairly used sawing machine as the one I have presently is bad.
Concerning the other part of the question, I doubt I will be able to pick up 50k from the ground for fear of the unknown.
